Deedkeel is correct. But who cares? Look at that jacket, and the shoes, and that hair. FYI- that was called a "conk." James stood all of about 5'5", but the hair added another foot. BTW-For you young folks , the dance with the hand behind the head is called 'The Boogaloo," and the move with the shimmying feet is called "the Mashed Potatoes." I'm just SO glad these films survive and there is a popular forum for sharing them with a new generation that has NO clue where today's music and dance moves came from. Michael Jackson - rest his gentle soul - did not invent the moon walk, etc. It came from his idol, James Brown, who no doubt learned a lot from the Nicholas Brothers (remember their leaping splits?) and dozens of others before him.
