Sorry dude, I have to say your wrong and the Liberal viewer was right. TJ wasn't the only founding father to debunk your theory. John Adams and Ben Franklin both wrote letters and gave speeches saying that we should be and was founded on reason not religion.
hello guy. this was pathetic. please dont try this again. youre getting destroyed,
atheists feel no guilt? that's hilarious considering that THE VAST MAJORITY OF CRIMINALS are christians, even if you adjust for proportions, most people who commit crimes are people who believe in god.
This video skips right over the part where Liberalviewer goes over the treaty with Tripoli, authored by Adams and Jefferson, which states "The United States is in no sense founded on the Christain religion." I also think an argument is not very compelling when you say "blah blah blah" while someone else is reading good evidence against your case. And it is YOU who has a problem with HIS choice of words?
I'm sorry taqiyyacrusader, but if you are to refute a point I think it would be much stronger if you can provide some actual facts to back you up. At the very least, Liberal Viewer did his research and was able to generate evidence.
For example "...and yet he (Thomas Jefferson) has build his philosophy and foundation on Christianity" This is where you would input facts to back you up. If you don't have any, it becomes an opinion.
I challenge everyone here to find ONE THING in the United States Constitution that is based on Christianity. what a ridiculous lie. then again, you christians with your mythology and delusional, self-serving logic, have never about what actually IS true, but only what you want to be true. RELIGION=MYTHOLOGY.
deism is not christianity. they believe the universe was created by some kind of master hand, but that the creator does not or cannot intervene. they reject ideas of miracles and prophecy...they are not "christians who don't want to push christianity on you." that is indisputibly INCORRECT. do some fucking research.
seperation of church n state is never mentioned in or constitution. a liberal judge coined that in the 20th cent.
stop using QUOTES... my God you guys are so ridiculous. all of our founding fathers were dealing with their own churches and others and had to equivocate ALL THE CHRISTIAN CHURCHES! they were doing a balancing act amongst CHRISTIANS!!! you guys are silly!
separation of church and state is not mentioned in the constitution????
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" FIRST AMENDMENT!!! it is true that the phrase "separation of church and state" is not in the constitution, but whatever those founding fathers thought personally is not important. they took great pains to ensure that no one religion took over. my own beliefs aside, religion is a personal matter.
WOW... are you totally ignorant? Maybe you should try reading a book and turn off your am radio for a while. FACT: Separation of Church and State was coined by by Thomas Jefferson in 1802 in a letter to the Danbury Baptists, in which he referred to the First Amendment to the United States Constitution as "thus building a wall of separation between Church & State". You, sir, are an idiot. NEXT!
He's right. Try reading up on some history. The majority of the Founding Fathers were deists (basically the agnostics of their day) or outright atheists, like Jefferson and Paine. Even John Adams, who *was* a Christian, wrote "As the government of the United States of America is not on any sense founded on the Christian Religion..."
Christians debate? Are you serious?Christians believe in a book which say that certain things are and if you were to question any of what is said in that book, the christians would call you a unbeliever and that you will burn in hell for all eternity because you do not believe in "the word of God". Can you tell me how christians debate when as soon as you ask why the bible is right, the answer is its the word of God, so it must be right,To question it would be to question God.Explain please.
"Without religion good people would do good things and bad people would do bad things. It is only through religion that good people will do bad things."

Don't talk about atheism that way. Every atheist I know is more ethical and moral than every Christian I know (for precisely the reason of the quote I gave). Christians do immoral things and don't feel guilty because they feel God is on their side. Atheists will always feel guilty about immoral actions.
"Deists are basically christians that doesn't want to push christianity on you"
Thats a lie. Deists are not christians in any way. The deist god has little in common with the christian god.
"The founding fathers were all christian"
Not according to historians. It wouldn't even be correct to say "some" of the founding fathers were christian. I suggest you go and get saved again. This lying is going to land you in hell. I don't care if you are lying for jesus. He wouldn't approve.
Your argument is even more fallacious when one considers that being founded by Christians is not equivalent to being founded upon Judeo-Christian principles. Ignoring that you're wrong about the Founders, you assume that holding certain values means that an institution or government one founds will be based upon such values. This assumption is baseless and may be falsified by counterexample.
To assert that deism is a variant of Christianity is ludicrous. Deists believe in a god that issues no revelations, or at least whose revelations are personal and not relevant to others. They deem science, philosophy, and independent thought the path to God, not revelation, the church, or the Bible. You would be more justified calling Muslims, Jews, or even Hindus "basically Christian."
Don't forget about the founding fathers who were atheist and theist as well (Benjamin Franklin for example was an atheist but believed that a christian nation would be less likely to revert to anarchy). Deist's believe that God created the universe and the ENTIRE earth....that's it. There is no personal relationship with God which is a huge difference compared to Christian belief.
Common. The "founding father" didn't agree on religion.

taqiyyacrusader: "You declare its an old wives tale that Christianity have had an effect on the laws of England or Europe"
Instead of refuting this strawman, why not address what I actually said was an old wives tale: the claim the USA was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. In fact, the USA was founded on the US Constitution and English common law neither of which are "Judeo-Christian principles" b/c of facts I explained that you failed to address
you mean 1400 years of christian society in England during its common law formation? before Ameria's govt? that half our founding fathers were biblical scholars, the other half just church goers? Pagan common laws means the seperation of church & state, NOT that English common laws formed from CELTIC or VIKING religions. I'm refuting you, you are just so ideological you can't see that. And "in the year of our lord" i know isn't enough for you though all of them understood quite well.
T. Jefferson: about the history of common law in letter to Thomas Cooper on 02/10/1814:
"For we know that the common law is that system of law which was introduced by the Saxons on their settlement in England, and altered from time to time by proper legislative authority from that time to the date of Magna Charta, which terminates the period of the common law. This settlement took place about the middle of the fifth century. But Christianity was not introduced till the seventh century; (cont)
the conversion of the first christian king of the Heptarchy having taken place about the year 598, and that of the last about 686. Here then, was a space of two hundred years, during which the common law was in existence, and Christianity no part of it." (Cont.)
If, therefore, from the settlement of the Saxons to the introduction of Christianity among them, that system of religion could not be a part of the common law, because they were not yet Christians, and if, having their laws from that period to the close of the common law, we are all able to find among them no such act of adoption, we may safely affirm (though contradicted by all the judges and writers on earth) that Christianity neither is, nor ever was a part of the common law."
In the same letter, Jefferson examined how the error spread about Christianity and common law. Jefferson realized that a misinterpretation had occurred with a Latin term by Prisot, "ancien scripture", in reference to common law history. The term meant "ancient scripture" but people had incorrectly interpreted it to mean "Holy Scripture," thus spreading the myth that common law came from the Bible. Jefferson writes: (cont.)
And Blackstone repeats, in the words of Sir Matthew Hale, that 'Christianity is part of the laws of England,' citing Ventris and Strange ubi surpa. 4. Blackst. 59. Lord Mansfield qualifies it a little by saying that 'The essential principles of revealed religion are part of the common law." In the case of the Chamberlain of London v. Evans, 1767. (cont.)
But he cites no authority, and leaves us at our peril to find out what, in the opinion of the judge, and according to the measure of his foot or his faith, are those essential principles of revealed religion obligatory on us as a part of the common law."
Thus we find this string of authorities, when examined to the beginning, all hanging on the same hook, a perverted expression of Priscot's, or on one another, or nobody."
i applaud you sir. i have probably never seen so much ownage on the internet in my entire life, and ive been on the internet since before it was cool.
i find that there really is no issue, christianity should have no preferred place in society, it should be equal to other religions, and an attempt to connect it with the founding, in my opinion, should not result in any preference. because ultimately, i get the feeling that this is what its all about, christians attempting to show that the christian religion deserves a higher place in our society.
English Common Law has pagan origins that went through over 1000 years of Christianity by 17th. You declare its an old wives tale that Christianity have had an effect on the laws of England or Europe. I also accept Greek influence. But your demeaning stridency of Judeo-Christian influence is typical of Atheist 'based on reality' argument. JUST PERCENTAGEwise the population of christians in these nations is so much more telling than your lots-of-free-time-atheist-edited-little youtube vids.
Except for the date, the US Constitution doesnt mention God. As Jefferson discussed w/Cartwright, English common law has pagan origins. Your misstatement of Jefferson's religious beliefs (which don't really qualify as Christian given his rejection of the divinity of Jesus) doesn't even address the source of the USA's founding principles:

i find that there really is no issue, christianity should have no preferred place in society, it should be equal to other religions, and an attempt to connect it with the founding, in my opinion, should not result in any preference. because ultimately, i get the feeling that this is what its all about, christians attempting to show that the christian religion deserves a higher place in our society.

The principles on which the USA was founded are:
The US Constitution and
English common law.
The US Constitution and
English common law.
Thx 4 the video :-)
