Bobby Burgess was always "heavy" for a dancer. He never seemed "hot" as far as male dancers go. "CUTE" - yes. But "Hot" - no. I had more fantasies about Jimmy Dodd. Also, curious how "Annette" seems underused here. And - no sign of nudie-cutie Doreen Tracy?

@TheBelldiver The "ears" the Mouseketeers wore were specially made, molded to each individual's head, and probably much better quality than those sold commercially

They cost $50.00, a big sum in the 1950's. Annette wrote in her autobiography that the Mouseketeers were charged for each pair of ears they lost.

I have very warm, and fond memories of watching this show. I wish they would but it out in DVD/Blue Ray box sets. I would love for my grandchildren to see The Original Mouseketeers.

@SweetSue4 The only really good DVD is the Walt Disney Treaures of the Mickey Mouse CLub. It has the full hour shows for the first week of the series. Check it out on Amaazon or Ultimate Disney.

Doreen didn't perform at the time because Sherry was a stronger dancer-singer, at least that was the reason given at the time ~ so the nine originals (who used to do most of the Mousketeer roll calls) did most of the singing and dancing, although there were (I believe) 24 Original mousketeers ~

Now THAT is talent! It's one thing to be able to look cute on TV and shuffle/carry a tune when you're a kid, but if you can still sing and dance the same songs 30 or 40 years later, you KNOW you're the tops! And if you're still having FUN doing all that and hanging out with your old costars . . . I don't think there's a word to describe it beside supercalifragilisticexpialidoc­ious!!!!

Walt died a couple of years after Jimmy. I know Walt didn't really think that much of the Mickey Mouse Club and Jimmy was "just" a contractor with the studio but does anyone know if Walt went to Jimmy's funeral? Did he say anything at it?

Cooking with Minnie Mouse sounded slightly sexist. It puts a different view on all this, along with a horny Jiminy Cricket - I see how he looks at anything female in Pinocchio.
