actually the official record for an alligator gar is 14 feet just to let you know, but my uncle caught a 22 feet!

shitty a lot of the bigger gar are gone now (7ft or more), i think its from stuff like this. I fish a lot and i'm not sure about this. i think i heard there's some parts of the US where alligator gar populations are low. check what the populations are like in your area please especially bigger gar

its not easy at all. it is very hard to hit the fish cause you actually have to aim below them to hit them and alot of times miss. or you have to put mor then one arrow into them to get them in.

Anyone know what river in north texas has a lot of gar? I live in Wichita Falls, and have heard a few people say "the river" is filled with them. But not the Red River. It was another. I don't know my rivers too well yet around here.

gar can be found on the surface or bottom, if you wait until dusk right before the sun sets it will be the best time if you live on a river, they like to feed off the top at that time. you will see them floping and their fins comming out of the water

Gar come up to the top of the water for air so it's pretty easy to find them for bow fishing.

Nice gar. in florida where i live there are a shit load of them. I go out hunting all around the U.S. but i mostly go out to the everglades. Monster gar like those are really hard to find, those are beautiful

i think i live the wrong place in the world would love to try that kinda fishing unfortunately i live in Barbados west Indies where they is hardly any fish anymore the price we pay for progress all the buildings go up on the beachfront the sea gets poluted and the fish go away... nice fish guys
