Does anyone have an opinion on Crosby hockey cards or memorabilia. What if Crosby were to retire early due to concussion problems, would his collectibles appreciate or decrease in value? Crosby has already accomplished alot in his early career.
@001MeTaBoLiC100 I love crosby and know alot bout him and i knw wen a person retires the card is worth more so if crosby were to retire it would be worth more maybe not straight away but in a couple of years it would :)
@blewittev That's where I am unsure. I know when a player retires it is after they have accomplished the most out of their NHL careers-depending on the player their hockey cards/memorabilia appreciate in value. Crosby was just getting started and now he might have to end his career at such an early age.
I think the best way to see what a card is actually worth is to check Ebay. what Beckett says doesnt matter if noone is going to pay that much. Looking on Ebay you can see what if anything people are actually paying.
The Beckett in my opinion is a waste of good money. I get the impression that they are in bed with the card companies. They will list a card at a certain price & in a month or two it is basically worthless. Good promotion for the card companies to move their supplies though. I have never seen a listing for error cards in the Beckett. Card companies often make mistakes when printing these cards. So some get circulated before they catch & correct the errors. One example is the wrong player stats.
I beg your pardon, Bobby Orr & Gordie Howe are the most sought after cards out there maybe then Gretzky. Beckett is not the best guide for prices in that in order to get the priemium price, the card would have to be graded perfect by a well recognised card grading company.
Hey out there! If you're collecting hockey cards only for their "value", please kill yourself. Seriously. The hobby doesn't need you. Drink bleach, sleep on train tracks, get AIDS, whatever. Just eliminate yourself from the gene pool. These are only pieces of cardboard, not pieces of gold.
@HCC1817 Opee-Chee, my buddy who used to live with us while playing for our OHL team was drafted by LA, but failed to sign but now he is playing for the Flames in the NHL while the other guy that lived with us is still on the OHL team played some games for Minnesota, then my other buddy him and his brother were drafted by Dallas
@HCC1817 The Flames player is Bryan Cameron who won the best overage player of the year award, the Minnesota player is Bjorn Krupp his dad scored the stanley cup winning goal for Colorado the other is Mike Neal. My Mom is a teacher and she taught Shawn Matthias of the Panthers Mat Beleskey of the Ducks, PK Subban of the Canadians, Shawn Lalonde of the Blackhawks and all of them the year they went to the NHL a shit load more in case your wondering

Good video foundations, but much to work on.
Glare from the Light to the left.
Plug your own business more. Regionality an issue, well guess what, in Autin Tx we want the Dallas Stars (or which ever team does best in your region).
The issue of price for the different eras: Vintage / 70's & 80's / early 90's / Present Cards
Dicsuss names of stars since this will help seller recognize good or bad cards ie: Richard, Plante, Gretzky, Roy, Lemieux, Crosby, Ovechkin, etc.
Specific to the content of the video: The use of a price guide to the layman is misleading. I would suggest that you elaborate on the use of "Beckett" to explain that prices of cards from 1995-present are generally from the first 6 months of release. That means that when the product was new, people would pay between the lo and high price to get the card. When trying to re-sell your cards, expect to get less than half low unless you have a rare or superstar card.

Very general commentary. It would be nice to have this be longer with more specific information about the genre of Hockey.
Couple of notes to the speaker - Good voice, good pace, clear speaking but the wringing of your hands is distracting. Since you are talking about hockey cards, how about holding a hockey card, or just placing your hand on a hockey card display (ie: a box) to give your store some advertisement as in - "look, this is what we sell."
This man's charisma has me shaking in the pink gloves that I mistakingly placed over my freakishly small feet. I used to collect sports cards you know, but lately I've been collecting greeting cards sent to me by my senile grandmother who keeps trying to keep contact with me despite the fact I never write back. And guess what, I won't write back, not as long as she keeps thinking I'm a member of the original Harlem Globetrotters.
Are Hockey cards worth collecting anymore since they mass produced the heck out of them in the early 90`s
