Mitchum was one of my favorite actors. Loved him in the Philip Marlowe remakes. Never seen this excerpt before and it was sad to see him so wasted, but he gave a good performance..
I'll begrudge Van Dien about everything in his talentless career...but working alongside THE Robert Mitchum playing a person that Mitchum probably met and knew in RL? Dude...I'd say Van Dien's got the right to brag about that for the rest of his life.
I second that emotion! The late great Mr Mitchum's acting (even as sick & frail as he was) wipes Casper off the screen. Casper is as much like the late great James Dean as much as Percy Kilbride was! This made for cable flick doesn't look very good. Though I'd always be willing to see Bob Mitchum in anything!

"Still with a strong voice and good acting ability, it's difficult to not notice how ill he was."
Do you perhaps mean "it's difficult to notice how ill he was."?

Casper Van Dien is absolutely terrible in this! Mitchum was a legend 'till the end - R.I.P, baby.

@uk6strings Agreed, they're polar opposites. Van Dien is just lousy.
