1963 I met Pete Fountain when he played the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Not only an excelent musician, but a true gentleman. My day had this cut played at his funeral in 1973. Awesome!!!
Wow, I just love this. I started clarinet after hearing Pete when I was in first grade. This is exactly what I remember him playing. Brings me goose bumps. I learning it tonight and hope I can copy his great "fat" tone. O what fun. God bless him.
This is from an excellent CD called something like "The Best of Pete Fountain." It shows in the background an old steam boat in black in white with an American flag I think. I'd highly recommend it.
