@jmurdainc88, Africans sold prisoners caught in war, yes they did contribute to slavery, but it was white europeans and Portuguese who institutionalize slavery and the utter genocide and took it to a whole different level - do your research. When the white europeans saw slavery as a good thing and benefited from it, and overdosed in tons of profits - they moved into the African continent built slave ports, and dominated the slave trade.

You're right about Africa having been in turmoil prior to the European invasion. It was that very turmoil between African tribes which allowed for the slave trade.

African Chiefs cooperated with Arab and European slave traders by selling them their prisoners of war.

The purely Darwinian FACT is that human societies have competed for territory and control since the appearance of the human species on this planet.

Will we EVER manage to evolve from that behavior towards mutual cooperation?
