If you were to suggest that phil should use the codec and more of his items at his disposal instead of run-n-gun style play, that can only benefit his playthrough, and in no way is insulting.

There is such a thing as useful and constructive criticism, a concept that seems foreign to you apparently.

Playing blind doesn't mean you ignore instruction manuals and in-game tutorials, buddy, otherwise Phil wouldn't call himself the common gamer. It just means it's a first time experience.

I don't expect people to play a game the same way. In fact there are a number of successful and easy ways Phil can go about paying the MGS franchise, but what I don't like seeing him do is blame the game for his mistakes consistently and arbitrarily. He believes that if he skips tutorials and learns the basics on the fly, he'll complete the game faster, when in reality it slows him down.

I'm glad to know that I "irk" you for some reason, though. Pretty amusing.

@hourzones If you've seen me comment on several of his videos, doesn't that answer your question for you? It doesn't take much to put two and two together.

Anyway, it doesn't matter if Phil hasn't played the game before. What does matter is that he often times expects the game to hold his hand throughout the entire playthrough without making an effort to learn the basics. That's all this is about, his refusal to learn from his mistakes and use the resources at his disposal.

As for my personal opinion, if the game never told you how to do a certain thing and expects you to do exactly how it thinks it should be done, this is a flaw. However I'm shure that there are lots of ppl who get along with say the controls of mgs. It is easy to pick up but difficult to master. But I still prefer my naked snake doin cqc instead of prone ;)

They didn't explain CQC because you picked I LIKE MGS 3 at the beginning of the game, thuse removing all the CODEC calls you would have gotten during the gameplay, that includes new weapon info, battle tactics, and other tips that would have been useful.
