Morrowind did pretty much everything right. Even the text dialogs were better in my opinion. Back then Bethesda had you actually think before doing. No compass in your HUD telling you where to go, just you, some spells, cure disease potions, a map and your trusty, old diary. The music was superb, the story awesome, and the atmosphere was amazing. I love this game and everything it stands for. This theme gives me goosebumps everytime. To all old-fashioned fans: Drop Skyrim, relive Morrowind!

@snake9718 All Elder Scrolls theme's were based off Morrowind. Oblivion remixed the Morrowind battle theme, and get this, some guy remixed the Morrowind theme on YouTube, and Bethesda used it as their Skyrim theme.

@GroundHOG20101 No seriously Morrowind is in there, there's a couple videos on Youtube of some guy clipping and going to Morrowind and Cyrodiil is in there too. It's just poorly detailed so I guess all they gotta do is let the new engine work it's magic with the tree planting and grass making etc. I'm pretty sure Morrowind and Cyrodiil are gonna be in expansions, or parts of it at least.

Anyone else feel that, without modds, Skyrim is almost completely unimmersive? Oblivion and Morrowind filled me with a sense of wonder that is sadly missing from Skyrim. Every time I play, I'm completely aware that I'm simply hitting keys and moving a mouse.

@zt76831 What, Oblivion was immersive? It didn't even have random events and the story was full of plot holes. And the terrain; everything was just generic forest and there were like 4 types of dungeons that all looked the same. But the UI was better at least (just not as good as Morrowind's).

@Steampunk915 Which means Morrowind was your first TES game and thus why it will always be your favorite. That's the thing, everyone hates on Oblivion/Skyrim just because they started with Morrowind. Everyone loves the first TES game they play the most because of the impact the game has on the player. Luckily, I started with Arena so it was easy to break the Nostalgia spell. My favorite TES game was Oblivion, closely followed by Skyrim, Morrowind and Daggerfall. TES games are god.

@DragonAgeCZ Well, there is Morroblivion, a mod for Oblivion which is, in it's core, just Morrowind pasted onto an Oblivion template - I'd try that if you wish for a Morrowind, with the same epic setting, but with higher Graphical quality.

@SeksGnom Sufficient to say, TES is awesome in itself. There may be variations between the different TES games, but they still outrank pretty much all other open-ended RPGs by far. Fallout is awesome in its own right, but incomparable to TES. The fantasy world these games pull you into is, and probably always will be, awesome.

Morrowinds music is so awsome, its tempo is just amazing and makes u get into it. oblivian/skyrim is almost the same but u dont get the same feel with the slow adventurous tempo that u get with morrowind. i still think morrowind>skyrim

@CRNewsShow Very much agree. Skyrim do beat out Oblivion, but Morrowind is still on top. Stuff just "meant" more in that game. Every level felt more worth it, and you didn't encounter bandits wearing a full set of Deadric Armor, or random mooks who could 1-shot you with an arrow, despite capping the armor rating.

And the theme was far more awesome in Morrowind, hence why I keep listening to this, WHILE PLAYING SKYRIM.

@KiyokoFaith Morrowind was amazing, first TES I played when it first came out. Morrowind felt different, I totally agree with you about every level feeling worth it, and the theme is one of the best. I also liked the variation in Morrowind, I mean come on you could wear a full set of clothing, a full set of armor (with about 8 different pieces) and a robe over that. Plus all the skills. Skyrim feels too limited and easy to get good in the most powerful skills. Still love it though.

Morrowind theme is very peaceful, calm, poetic...like the game.

Oblivion theme is shitty...like the game.

Skyrim theme is powerful, violent and awesome...like the, well, you got it.

Only people who got Morrowind around 2003 understand how amazing it was. In my mind its even better than skyrim. There was so much more adventure and secrets and artifacts. Skyrim was great, but a Morrowind remake would be so much better. And if they only upgraded graphics and long loading. I liked have no quest marker and having that sense of adventure. Nothing will ever beat that first play through. It was amazing.

The only questline i did not do was the redoran. I used a lots of mods, some of then created by myself. I forgot some names, but one of my biggest dreams is to ride a stilt strider. I play skyrim as a dark elf. So do not tell me that i dont understand.
