Most of the time she is inside the cage, but if a male goes into one the boxes out the cage ( over the cage ), she goes there attack them. That s crazy. She wants the 4 boxes for her! She is stronger than the males, so they run away from her all the time.

Is that common? - the female try to occupy all the boxes of the place, inside and outside the cage?

  • Hi. I would like to tell you a situation here. Since 3 of my lovebirds run away through the window, it remains 3. One female, two males. I have a big cage, opened, with 2 boxes for the lovebirds inside the cage, and 2 boxes over it, in the outside. The problem is the female is so possessive, that she want to occupy the 4 boxes!. She doesn't permit the 2 males lives in any of the others boxes. ( cont. )

  • You should take the boxes away so she is not so aggressive, and there should never be 3 lovebirds living in the same cage. If 2 happen to bond they will always pick on the third even if they are siblins.

  • Yes, I haven't realized that one cage is just for 2 lovebirds. Three in the same cage is trouble.

Actually , the female is accepting one of the males now inside the cage, and the other male was expelled from the cage - he is living out an far from the cage. So, I will have to get a separated cage for the 'banished' one.

Thank you very much for the answer.

  • I like the blue "Hey LISTEN" sign, the Hair Rescue scene, and the Cinnamon Toast Crunch for breakfast.
