I wish my parish would sing The Litany of the Saints more often. My parish is planning to use Matt Maher's Lamb of God for Advent which sounds similar to this litany.
@methodius99 My friend, remember the rcc taught torture and death to anyone who disagreed with it. Is this not "judgmental"? Decreti, pars ii. causa xxiii. quaest v. can. xlvii: "Those are not to be accounted homicides who, fired with zeal for Mother Church, may have killed excommunicated persons."
@kiwichristian2009 your too old enough but your knowledge is so immature still about history and the bible. catholics are all sinners like you thats why we worship Jesus who died for our sins.Mt 16:18-19 - upon this rock I will build my Church Mt 18:17 - if he refuses to listen even to the Church. Mt 18:18 - power to legislate. Mt 18:17 - power to discipline. Lk 10:16 - speak with Christ's own voice
1Tim 3:15 - Church called "pillar and foundation of truth"
the early church as described in the NT did the following: shared all things in common, relationships, support missionaries/ministers, teaching & preaching, praying, worshiping, reading of scripture, evangelism, fostering spiritual gifts. No where does the NT dictate fancy buildings, robes, repetitive prayer, a priesthood, Mary worship, sectarianism, or any order of service, etc.. all these are man made traditions added on.
Through infant baptism, keeping sacraments, church membership, going to mass, praying to Mary, and confession (just to mention a few), the Catholic church has developed a system of salvation through WORKS. God's word says that we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not through works". "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Eph. 2:8-9)
One is not saved now and forever. For Paul teaches in 1 Corinthians 9:27 ". I have been saved, am being saved, and have supernatural hope that I will be saved. Even Paul did not KNOW he was saved.
St. Paul teaches us in Philippians 2:12-13, "...not only when I am present but all the more now when I am absent, work out your salvation with fear and trembling.
Catholic Church teaches that man can do nothing on his own to merit salvation. The sacraments are given to us by Christ to help us.
@jpgoats1 Romans 10:9 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be SAVED."
@kiwichristian2009 Yes Paul is saying confess with thy mouth and believe in thy heart, now and for the rest of your life. It can not happen in one moment in one's life. One must continually confess and believe. That is why Paul talks about “working through your salvation”.
Is there a title for the particular icon of Jesus that is shown at 1:10? I think it is also the one in the preview pic. I would like to find a copy because it is beautiful. Thanks, B
@needleduck Yes, its call "idolatry". Exodus20:4-5. "Thou shalt not make unto thee ...or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth." Vs5 "Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God." Isaiah 42:8 "I [am] the LORD: that [is] my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images."
@kiwichristian2009 please understand a religion before judging it, we dont worship or bowdown to the saints, we catholics honor and remember them and the good that they have done on this earth for there love for jesus...
@dominicv315 My friend. Thank you for your reply. You will be surprised what i understand about the rcc. Not being brainwashed by any religion or organisation, i am free to study rcc history, the ccc and compare that to what the Bible says. The differences between rcc doctrine and teachings and the Bible are staggering.
@dominicv315 The twenty-fifth session of the Council of Trent decrees that the images of Christ and the Virgin Mary, and of the other saints, are especially to be had and retained in the churches, and that honor and veneration are to be paid to them.
@dominicv315 "Sacred images in our churches and homes are intended to awaken and nourish our faith in the mystery of Christ. Though the icon of Christ and his works of salvation, it is he whom we adore. Through sacred images of the holy Mother of God, of the angels and of the saints, we venerate the persons represented." (Pg. 337, #1192) "venerate" is just another word for worship, my friend. Now,God tells us NOT to make these images.
@lo0oki0o9 Well... seeing as how there are over 10,000 enumerated saints, naming even a large portion of them would be quite hard. Maybe they could have thrown a couple more in, though.
the song is great but there is a standard and proper linening of the saits especially at the start, it should be statrting with God Jesus Holy Spirit Mary then the Saints
If anyone can direct me to a version of this that isn't drenched in sentimenality, that isn't drenched in horrid Oprahist music like this, please do so.
It is the Pope's intention that all Christian communities, including Protestant and Orthodox to be united under the leadership of God the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. We all should pray for the same thing.
@pobleterock No, it is the popes intention that all religions unite under rome. This is exactly what is prophesied the antichrist will do in the Bible. The signs are there for all to see, the roman catholic "church" is antichrist and anti-Christian.
I first saw this a month or so ago and made reference to it on my blog. It's well done - the piece of music and the icons go well together. @kolbe1019 Yeah, it's just that you've got "eternity" and "sacred reality" and then descend to something a bit cheaper. Hey, it's your video. Put what you like on it. Just thought I'd share an opinion.
@kiwichristian2009 the saints are not dead, they are alive. Jesus says that "God is not the God of the dead, but of the living" (Matthew 22:32). In Mark 9:4, the "dead" Moses and Elijah appear to Jesus and communicate with Him regarding his exodus from earth. People who believe that being dead in the body is also dead in the soul are called atheists, not Christians.
@kiwichristian2009 Yet Judas Maccabeus (The Great Hero Hanukkah is in honor of) prayed over the dead.
I am beginning to believe that you are disciple of Anton LaVey and his satanic bible. I've been watching you move through posts and you have all the characteristics of a Satanist on a mission from "your" master. @TheSabazios "Yet Judas Maccabeus (The Great Hero Hanukkah is in honor of) prayed over the dead." Can you show me this in the Bible, please? Not the apocrypha, the Word of God. @Gatta9 the words are certainly not. but anybody can sing it in a banal manner. sing it with drums, guitar and tambourine and you will see my point.

I love this song. When I first heard it on his CD I thought to myself, "I have to make a video with this song!" I just haven't gotten to it yet. I have so many other ones in line first.
I love the icons you use! Thanks for making this video and sharing it with us.
Peace & Love in Christ.
