I feel that QSI would have been a better sound choice for Intermountain seeing as to how Tower 55 is out. Otherwise, solid model. Soundtraxx just doesn't sound prototypical to me. BLI still takes the cake when it comes to sound.

What are ditch light numbers? There are no such thing. The numbers on the upper part of the cab are on the numberboards.

@ovationpdh Yeah you are correct. I know what a number board is but I was so tired last night I could barely walk straight. Thanks for the correction.

So the numbers on the numberboards don't match the road number of the unit? I don't think I have ever seen that mistake on a model.

@ovationpdh they don't match but this is the very first model to go out from the first run so Intermountain is aware and making sure they don't go out to the consumer when they release these sometime next week.

@gecx6000 The Tower 55s had Digitrax decoders which have 16-bit sound. The Intermountains have Soundtraxx Tsunami which is 32 bit sound.

@damianbradley Yeah Nuclear Bright headlights too, at Dusk one day I was looking down the track and at first glance thought it was the sun!!! Those lights are BRIGHT.

Looks like you got a nice engine. on your tracks problems, have you cleaned it? Also what radius of curve are you using?

@railfanfromiantha I was about to tear it apart but the engine arrived early and so I wasn't prepared for it. I need to clean my track and I have 26 inch outer curves and 22 inch inner curves.

Did they record custom sounds or are they stock tsunami sounds?

@MARCTRAIN426 intermountain made an exception to send me one direct from the first few engines just so I could do a review. However, due to the cab number problem I will be doing a full review later and deleting this first look.
