@03332648155 couldn't tell ya lol. This system is long gone and I got it when i was just getting into car audio and I didn't know what I was doing with these. I never bothered to figure out what the difference was between the p1222 and the p1224.
@moose3graffiti Well i've never heard the W3v3's, but I had a friend who had 2 of them and he said that they were louder, but not as clean as the p1224's. But if all you're goin for is volume, go with the W3v3's.
it all depends on how efficient the sub in question is when considering your ohm load. For instance, if your sub is very efficient you can wire to a higher ohm and alot of times it will beat just as hard or harder...the reason being you are putting less strain on your electrical system also this allows for a much cooler running sub = more reliable, better sounding bass. Especially with these BADASS jbl subs.
@disistablishment I ran a TMA 1000.1 to them for a while, giving them about 500 watts to each sub, then I ran a Lanzar 4000 to them for a little while and gave them 800 watts each. I was running the TMA in this video.
I pretty much have the same setup just different amp. I have a JBL Grand touring 1400.1 watt amp powering my 2 JBL P1224's and i had to upgrade my battery to an optima red top battery and i have 2 fosgate capacitors to keep my lights from dimming when played.
What amp do you have/how many watts RMS you pumping to those? I have an excursion and thinking of putting 8 of those in the back and push 3000 RMS total. I would have to toss them all in a sealed enclosure so I can fit everything, granted I have the room for a 14 cubic foot box so everything can be vented, I would rather try to keep my rear bench in place for extra seating.
I've got a TMA 1000.1 amp running at 1 ohm and pushing 500 watts to each sub. If you ever get a video of that system, put it as a video response or something. I'd love to see that.
Its gonna be quite some time before I can do that sadly. I gotta get some repairs done on the truck and pay some debt down first but once all thats done I'm going to buy 2 subs a month for 4 months lol. Still kinda up in the air of whether I want the 8 subs or just overpower 4 subs a little bit. Alternately I could get 8 10" JBL subs for dirt cheap and just get 16 10" total but I don't see 16 10" fitting in my truck.
Just my opinion, but multiple subs under 12" looks pretty crappy to me. I've seen cars with like 15 10's and it's like meh. But 8 of these bad boys would fuckin SLAM. And they look badass to boot.
I agree, only problem is I would be powering 4 of them off a 1500 watt RMS amp so each sub would get about 375 RMS. I wouldn't run the risk of overheating at this point and they would def last a long time because of that but I'm wondering if they will still slam or if I need to be powering 2 per amp and push 750 RMS each but then I'm limited to 4 subs. Also there seems to be a sensitivity rating difference between the 2 and 4 ohm DVC models

One P1224 can handle 850rms?
Diablodbl 1 year ago
@Diablodbl it might be pushing its limits a bit, but yeah. You want to try and stay between 700-800 though.
