Just saw GUN with big country, great gig wanted more from thee GUNNERS BUT APPRECIATE THEY HAD A SHORT SET, STILL BRILLIANT THOUGH, CANT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY DONT DET MORE CREDIT,
Positively epic! I was going through my old vinyl collection today and found this; so decided to give it an airing. Wow! I'd forgotten just how good they really were. I mean, the whole album is just awesome! Really takes me back. I'm an ageing rocker at heart. Now, off to find someone who's got it on CD...
This band is underestimated. I went to a concert arena in Oslo Norway 10 years ago, and the crowd counted max 30 persons - what a pity. I went backstage and the guys was real cool.. I dont think they would return back to Norway again - SAD... They are great.
@Rawpower67 GUN are playing a couple of gigs in Norway in February with the current lineup... Dante Gizzi on vocals, Jools Gizzi on guitar, Paul Mcmanus on drums and Derek Brown on bass.
i live in Utah and when it comes to good music you will not find it here! mostly just redneck shit. i had never heard of Gun. and all of the shitty radio stations here would never play such great music. i found this album in the bargin bin back many years ago and have been hooked ever since.
@jempynl the official fan site has had dns server issues. The guy who organised the host is in the process of moving everything to a new company so hopefuly all should be working again soon...
I saw Gun in Barcelona 90´s and they played as good as the Rolling Stones -Fantastic Concert !!!!! I thing the best concert of my life .....Baby Stafford played very well ..She surprised me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was my favourite song 20 years ago, I heard it a million times on my walkman when I went to England to visit my holiday love from the summer of 1989 - it still moves me....Great great song.
Mark now has a good job promoting new bands with Mercury records in london and a family and doesn't want to go back to being in aband having to tour all the time.
Precious time, do we know what we're fighting for Taking time, so we don't make the same mistakes again Take a look on the other side Look at what we will leave behind When you feel that love is dragging you down day by day You've gotta break way chorsus... What's love is it wild sorrow? Brave face, is your heart breaking? Who cares when you cry freedom? It's the right place for the right reasons Chorus 2x
I'm trying to get the symbolism with this video. I don't get the idea of 'taking on the world' as depicted with some blond babe and the kids. Guess it doesn't matter, as the song is great and truly an anthem. Wish Mark was still with the group and making music.
this is the kind of unknown music like the the film called Permanent record with keanu reeves... we were the tough guys back then in those dark eighties days.
Saw them live at the lemon tree in aberdeen and at the secc in glasgow back in the 90's and they were mind blowing then. Can't wait to see them again when they go on tour later. Pity Mark Rankin chose not to join them again though. Go GUN!!!!!!!!!!!
GUN have announced that they are to reform. Line up is:
Toby Jepson, Jools Gizzi, Dante Gizzi, Alan Thornton.
They will play Rockradio Manchester launch party (a free gig) on May the 5th 2008. They will then play T in the Park main stage on the Saturday. A headlining tour is planned and new material will be produced. Jools and Alan will also play a gig with Blind allez on May the 9th at Rockers in glasgow.
There is a god!!!! Shame Mark Rankin wasn't back as he was a part of a legend that is GUN but at least they have found Ex Little Angels Singer Toby Jepson who will without doubt add a different dimension to the band!! Looking forward to the unknown in front of us!
I heard a rumour that, after the Garage gig in January wi Jools, Dante, Toby Jepson on Vocals and original drummer Alan Thornton, they may be doing a few festivals in the summer in the UK. I heard Falkirk Festival 3rd/4th May, T in the Park in the King Tuts Tent, Connect and a few others. Wait to see it confirmed tho. But wouldn't that be fan-fukin-tastic!! Saw them way back b4 they were GUN and loved them since, (shows how old I am, loool) they ROCKED at the Garage gig!!
I saw them in january at the Garage in Glasgow with Jools, Dante, Toby jepson and original drummer (from way back when they got signed) Alan Thornton. They were superb!! Rumour has it they are playing the Falkirk festival 1st weekend in May. then possibly T In The Park and maybe a few others including the Connect Festival. And i bloody hope they do a Barrowland show. Would that not be just fan-fukin-tastic!!!
i guess you only write a song like that once in your lifetime. the lyrics, the melody, the passion, the melancholy, the pain, the hope within, the whole song structure. PERFECT!
Take a look at the other side, look at what we will leave behind.......... Oh, you left US GUN, please get together again!! The Danes are missing YOU!!!!!
thanks for the posting, was lucky enough to see them live early 90's a couple of times and they were without doubt the best live band i've ever seen, if anyone can get hold of a bootleg copy of some of their live shows, do so, you wont be dissapointed
I saw this video at age 20 when I was visiting London (I'm from Seattle, WA) in 1989. I loved their music then and it's still great! I wrote to them saying so and they were quite nice as they sent me an autographed picture that I still have.

They were excited to know they had fans in the USA. The bass player (Dante) now is the lead singer of a new band called El Presidente which is doing well in Europe.
Great song, strange video! I think the woman and dancing midgets represent the inner being struggling to break free, the milk is nourishment (or something equally arty farty). Or just an excuse for semiclad birds and dancing dwarves!
