Too many churches are goat entertainment venues,when the lost come in and go on about how they really loved their experience,something's not right.It appears that the Arminians are much more popular with the world since their only goal is to try everything in their power to attract,entertain and make comfortable those who are happily sinning their way to Hell (2 word many churches loathe,sin & Hell).It's all about getting one to repeat a salvation prayer,then they are TOLD THEY'RE SAVED!

Brother, forget about the bible. Put the fact straight. You the problem not the bible. Do not use the word of God to coverup your problem. Because this is exactly why war around the world is from people like you. This the reality. God already died for us, so all you have to do is to send your problem to God and serve God and worship God that all. But you need to stop the trouble maker problem. The troublers of the church are those who do not know what God has said and therefore bring into the church things God has not told them to do. That is the issue. Many have even brought in a false gospel as well.....no repentance, no change of life, etc. etc.

@vaelupetseve Again your statement comes with no Scripture and no reference at all to Matthew 18 where the Church is to discipline those who continue in sin, along with 1 Cor. 5 and Peter's admonition of judgment beginning at the house of God. But then that doesn't seem to be high on your list. As far as trouble maker goes, that is exactly what sinning Israel said to her prophets that God sent to her. They called the prophet "the troubler of Israel", when they were the troublers

Glorifying God should be TOP priority when it comes to all aspects of life, especially corporate worship. Let's not kid ourselves here, OK? You're telling me you don't have 'feelings' towards your style of worship? Different instrumentation does not lend itself to being any less worthy. The organ isn't more worthy than a guitar, despite your traditional snobbery.

@jb4guitar Jb, I simply was pointing out that music was to be glorifying to God. I was not implying you weren't doing that. I never said the organ was more worthy than a guitar. I have no idea where that came from. But I'm guessing it is just your preference showing in the conversation. In fact at our church we don't even use an organ, but that is beside the point. Many things were mentioned in the video but it seems you are just tripped up on music for some reason.

jb, it's tongue in cheek. the answer was in the letter as if the unchurched person is saying practice what you say you believe, ie. preach the gospel and trust God to save those who are His.

@NiceneCouncilcom It doesn't come across as tongue in cheek. Instead, it's as if someone is trying to wage war within the church to justify an inward (instead of outreach) focused church. MOST unchurched people do NOT hate God. This video's line of thinking points to a bigger question. Why are you focused on being "Against the World?" God so LOVED the world that he gave His Son. We should be fighting FOR hope, FOR change, FOR love. Drop the hate message. THAT'S what the lost hate about church.

@jb4guitar Actually the Scriptures teach just the opposite of what you cited. Men are in rebellion against their Creator (See Romans 1-3) The message is not the "Obama" message. The message is a gospel that COMMANDS men to repent and believe it. The tongue in cheek part is at the end. The Church is not to gear its message to the world but to proclaim the unadulterated gospel to men that they might be saved. Anything less, though it may get them in church will leave them lost. No hate here.

Here's what I don't get. Why chose a negative word (against) as the center of your message? "Against the World" sounds like you're ready to build bunkers in front of the church lobby. Christ came to seek and save the lost... Not put up barriers. He broke them down. He didn't wait for people to come to Him, he sought me out.

@jb4guitar Jb, Have you read 1 John? If so then you must be aware of John's exhortation to not love the world. Second, in Church history, there were always writings that were "Against...." fill in the blank, because what the writer was trying to do was to address things that were unbiblical. The point being made in the video is that the church has perverted the worship of God. Instead of the corporate worship being primarily for believers it has been changed to cater to unbelievers.

@jb4guitar I also agree He did come to seek and save the lost, but again the corporate worship, while it may contain unbelievers is supposed to be for believers primarily, not unbelievers. And the response is to simply expound the Scriptures in their context. We are to take the gospel as we go as Jesus commanded in Matthew 28:19-20.

@NiceneCouncilcom Meanwhile, people who AREN'T afraid to visit my church DO hear the gospel, are being led to Christ, and can now freely participate in corporate worship.... And we are living out Matt 28 quite accurately. I pray that you realize that the fight isn't against churches with a drum beat... We're just a church made up of a bunch of people who used to be lost and are now found.

You seem to be quite offended at the mere mention that music should be to glorify God, not woo the lost. It's interesting how you say that they AREN'T afraid to come to your church. While I do not know your church particularly, I would ask, is that the way the NT church was viewed. I'll simply direct you to Acts 5, which was the result of a holy church that dealt with sin and it's impact.

Ok, I'm sorry, but this whole thing is about music? Really? The point about perverting the worship WASN'T made in that video, instead the message is, "Us church haters don't care what you do, and I resent you having music i might like so please keep your organs and hymnals." It's funny to me how so many people feel the need to hate something they don't personally like.

@jb4guitar Jb, the whole thing isn't about music Sir. The video dealt with much more than that. It is in essence dealing with the plain teachings of Scripture and that being that the carnal man will not be won to Christ via appeals to his flesh but the command of the gospel. The entire video is about how the church has perverted the worship of God. It has not looked to glorify Him but to "win" the lost. That is evident all throughout the video.

Wrong letter! You should read the one from those who know that the gospel has been wrapped in a tangled web of religion, which (as you have stated) does not need to be further wrapped in soft, feel-good clothes. The answer, however, is not to merely get rid of the soft-peddling; it is to go the full measure and get rid of the entangling cords of religion as well. The gospel is good news to sinners - promising both death and eternal life. I love this gospel, but you won't see me in your church.
