yes, indeed it can be modelled like a soliton... lab experiments obviously do not capture the whole essence of a tsunami.... which is indeed like a flood... that is why the experiments were carried out using the "dam break" concept... what changes the behaviour of the wave is the water depth in the tank, if it is shallow the wave breaks before the caisson, if it is deeper then it looks more like a soliton.... when you see videos of real tsunamis you can actually appreciate both kind of effects
the last one resembles the most like a tsunami, a tsunami isn't a rise in water, that is a flood, and a tsunami isn't a short monster wave, that is caused by high winds, a tsunami is a a long wave with water behind it
sorry, not sure i understand your question..... if you mean how i made the wave, look at one of my other videos "tsunami experiment" on the left side.... let me know if this answers your question....
Thanks.... at the moment I didn't do much for the last two years but will be moving universities soon and hopefully I will be able to do some more experiments....

wow by them selves they r deadly but together it's a different story

actually this can model out into mathematical way.....It was a form of soliton in KP equation.

How did you make it?
