I purchased them as a pair and when I released them into my aquarium at home I placed them in the same area so they re-establised their partnership immediatley. The shrimp continues to build burrows at one end of the tank but no matter where he goes, the Goby always stays with him.

how long did it take u 2 for them to pair up and is it a 100% the will pair up?

If you want to pair them up, you have to make sure the shrimp is bigger than the goby's mouth. Otherwise the goby will eat the shrimp.
