  • I saw these guys play with Pantera in Atlanta way back. Always wondered why I didnt hear more about these dudes. They played a badass show.

  • kicking ass,thrashing mad

  • CLEARLY UNDERRATED BAND FROM BACK THEN AND OMG WHAT A FRICKEN LIVE SHOW!!! THEY WERE AMAZING! TOO BAD THEY BROKE UP............

  • did you hear that solo, that was bad ass

  • This was fillmed in my pants.

  • mmm first time I notice that this video is censored...

  • seen them in early 90s with pantera tore the place up fucking crazy concert shit was tore apart

  • the 2 best bands shannon has been in_____ wrathchild and ugly kid joe! although he brought what godsmack needed, and godsmack puts on a great live show.... every song sounds the same

  • @newyorkmetal couldn't agree with you more

  • @newyorkmetal ,KIDDIE PORN, I played bass in that band with him and also the minsters of hate.

  • shannon larkin - psyco drummer all around great guys

  • Great song. Late 80's thrash is the best. Had the cassette, now i have the disc.

  • Am I the only kid in New Jersey who listens to the heaviest music

  • First time i have ever listened to these guys... I feel like i've been cheatted out of some great tunes, and epic headbanging \m/

  • saw these guys open for Testament in 1989 at the Channel in Boston loved them ever since too bad no more SAZ never got the respect they deserved!!!!

  • goah the lead singer's voice is so hot...nice guitar lick in the begining

  • yes bogarts Cincinnati oh , short vine. check the crowd.

  • And Hair swinging was born!

  • Oh...some good memories here! I worked at 98 Rock for a few years and met Shannon during that time. I also worked at Mottla's club "Warpt" and the guitar player ran sound for us! GOOD TIMES!!!

  • Best live ever! Favorite show Rockers Essex,md. after Preakness!

  • This is the band I refer to when I tell the kids Avenged Sevenfold is derivative of another very good band. They don' t get it.

  • bunch of dudes with perms haha

  • One of the shirts that the lead singer is wearing is for 97 Underground a radio station in Baltimore for several years in the early ninties.

  • Insanity's an Edge

  • Think they filmed this video at Bogarts in Cincinnati Oh

  • @annihialtor35 fact. I'm in the crowd

  • @helvistheking

Me too. They kept Shannon there (Bogart's) for hours after the main live shoot. Everyone was pretty much shitfaced at the hotel when Shannon finally arrived with his arms about to fall off around 2am.

  • used to watch these at waterside club worcester many many yrs ago

  • wish these guys would come back and kick everyones ass. because they could.

  • so bad ass man. Love WCA.

  • so this is the band with the drummer that inspired chris adler....awesome! these guys are pretty cool, dont know why i hadnt heard of them before now...

  • Comment removed

  • @kook1028 fun fact the drummer shannon larkin is the drummer of godsmack,

fact i like sharing my uncle used to tech for these guys way back then i think they still keep in touch for the most part

i actually have a pair of shannons WCA signature sticks he used from that era

  • Wow, memories... I'm in the front row with all my rockin' girlfriends.... I remember guys climbing over us to get on stage to dive. Miss the boys!!

  • these guys rock . met the drummer few times in hagerstown. md . they ran shiley acres back in the real good ol days. shannon is bigtime now. original vamp music

  • 1989...Wow just a 16 year old metal head..I mowed a lot of fucking lawns rocking to this album on my yellow walkman!! Those were the days!!

  • So remember the day this video was filmed! I was in the front row, stage right by the monitor next to the chick with all the bracelets and if she reads this.. hi!!!

    Bogart's, Cincinnati, OH. 1989-ish

  • Cool Songg!! Just subscribed!! Subscribe back and check out my songss :)

  • Christ, diggin through the high school archives. Fuck YA!!!

  • what a great day - I remember this like it was yesterday - back when Bogarts & metal ruled the day

  • BTW, I meant to type "Larkin". It's just, you know, it feels like an incomplete word.

  • It's a shame Shannon Larking couldn't make a career off this band, but at least he's making great money now.

  • 3D man 3D man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! love this band

  • 1:47 Flip!

  • Great song. The singer looks like Stuttering John before he cut his hair.

  • uh.....this sounds nothing like godsmack, quite frankly, I thought godsmack was an alice in chains cover band for the longest time....these guys were underrated...they rock, and did some really interesting musical stuff....check out their albums

  • This band kick fuckin ass!

  • i dont know when this video was made but one thing i like about this band when it started is that it they stayed away from all that Glam Rock in the mid 80´s.... from all those bands that were there for the posing.... all make-up and stuff like that... no, these guys were the core!!! they did it their own way under their oen influences at the time... wish that we could have heard much more from them overseas, wether it was wrathchild america or souls at zero

  • Yes, it was before Souls at Zero. Same band, different name. Wrathchild America was much better

  • @lagunsI used to go see them often. great show whether souls or wrathchild.

  • Who cares this is so bad ass

  • WTF??? Was This Before Souls At Zero?????

  • '91 =Pantera Was The Opening act. Pantera outstaged Wrathchild Am.. I didn't know who Wrathchild Am. were, but went out and bought their stuff afterwards and have rocked out to them ever since. Love the Pink Floyd cover"Time". Shannon Larkin still has it going on.; And, the band was never the same as Souls at Zero.

  • great video memories- thanks!!!

  • Cincy loved Wrathchild I was in this video!

  • Miss these days in york pa rocking at swizzels

  • @rcstough Same here only at Hammerjacks in Charm City. I sort of miss those days too.

  • So glad Shannon has done well for himself! He has always been an incredible drummer. Original Wrathchild days - good times!

  • notice the banner still only says Wrathchild...this was filmed in Cincinnati OH....their self-proclaimed second home.

  • these guys are great. its like the thrash of the big 4, but with a groove

  • they censor "shit" but not "i might kill a cop"??

  • @steakdiaper "I might kill a cop" is not a curseword. This is YouTube, not MTV, so drug, gun, and cop killer references will not get "bleeped". Oh NOES save the children!!!

  • @t0adphr0g i'm not saying they SHOULD censor "i might kill a cop", i just think it's dumb to censor a word that basically means 'poop', but not censor a reference to murdering someone, let alone an 'officer of the law' . ANd i'm sure it was censored on MTV or wherever it was ripped frm, not YouTube. YouTube only censors nudity i think

  • I knew Brad personally...he used to date my friends mom nicknamed "Elvira".....seen them at Rockers many times....then they changed to Souls At Zero....great live band!!

  • is that Shannon Larkin?

  • @healsound - Yep, sure is!

  • Wrathchild is the best live band ever! Brad Divens is such a talent WOW!

  • Comment removed

  • A kick-ass song from another kick-ass thrash band, yeah! And this song has got a particular kind of circular structure as of the ones that usually totally drive me crazy, so fuck yeah and ty for adding it up on here \m/

  • brad used to play for kix

  • saw this tour "89 w/ TESTAMENT and Savatage ONE OF THE BEST

  • my style of hairbands,no bubblegum rock please

  • @tryin34

Like heavier hair bands? You should like Skid Row.

  • @helvistheking Thanks! I appreciate you letting me know.

  • I totally remember this video from Headbanger's Ball back in the day! Where was this filmed. It kind of looks like the Masquerade in Atlanta.

  • @SilenceSyndicate Bogart's ...Cincinnati Ohio. I know, I'm in it.

  • Saw these guys in 1989 in Springfield, MO at the Regency Showcase. They openned for Testament and my ears are still paying the price. Well worth it! I missed class for 2 days! Larkin was a madman then, and is a beast now! Thanks for posting and bringing back great memories!!

  • Why didn't people support bands like this, instead of Poison and Cinderella back in the day,a lot of great bands are no longer around because shitty glam metal, and even lamer alternative/grunge and Emo shit, this is what people should have supported instead guys wearing lipstick and hair spray.

  • THEY PLAUYED AT MY WAREHOUSE club in 1990 great guys fun band super drummer(i had to lpick him up off the street he was a bit drunk

  • Wrathchild America,Shiley Acres,The Foot,What more can you say!!!!

  • Yay! I remember getting stoned with Jay at an afterparty and then broke my wrist while skipping through the graveyard behind the morgue.... Good times!

  • His legs are FREAKISHLY small. But they are badass!

  • The 3-D man album fucking rocks too.

  • Classic!!! \m/

Remember seeing these guys with Testament & Annihilator eons ago

  • First band I saw back in 1992....awesome!

  • shame there not around anymore!

  • I forgot how bad ass this video was. When I was in high school, METAL ROCKED!!!

  • my dad was there when they made this vidieo

  • amazing solo, magic

  • i bought the cassette when i was like 13 lol

  • Im willing to take a chance on a reunion in NC...contact: leecherryentertainment@yahoo.com

  • Damn! glad to see some WCA on youtube! I know what Shannon is doing but wondering what Brad ,Jay, & Terry are doing. Mark Mueller: Oliver Magnum Oklahoma

  • Holy shit!!!!! finally someone is close enough to post my boy' videos :)) \m/ hey shannon~ we still love you come back to our stompin grounds we have a keg waiting on you \m/ wrathchild (america) fuckin rocks!!!!

  • I saw these guys at Bogarts in cincy and they fukkin rocked! Still love the song hells gates and this one and their awesome cover of time

  • Great band.

They combine different styles in 1 song.

Hardrock , Thrashmetal , Speedmetal and Blues

  • seen these guys with pantera....best show i ever been to

  • divens sounds like hetfield from metallica

  • seen this band like 10 times and was never a boring show.

  • seen them open for kreator, they are great

  • kinda hair/thrash metal

  • @mickeltheheadbanger ur gay dude............

  • @deathbat181 : No, i'm right ;)

  • @mickeltheheadbanger hair metals gay wrathchild is gay....wrathchild america is not

  • Best band live I have ever seen. And I have seen ....alot.

Agree with poster below - far better band than godsmack, just had bad timing. Slain by grunge.

  • badass....other then being the cut versizon!!

  • climbing the walls is an amazing album (i only had it on tape and cd but you get it still have the cd)

  • @jedishy yes, you can get it on cd

  • Go Shannon! Do you remember their songlists? The best band live in a bar!

  • The drummer is now in Godsmack, so he made it. Think the singer is now a road manager for Cyndi Lauper.

  • These guys were all good musicians, and I always liked the pink floyd influence.

Real shame they did not make it.

  • lol pink floyd influence? not hatin' man... but where do you hear that?

If ya gotta song i'd love to hear it... these guys rock and if they got anything reminiscent of floyd that is badass ha. . .

  • the odd time tempo changes in the song are reminiscent of pink floyd

  • @slayer666metallica While I don't totally agree with the fact that floyd has a big influence on the band, they did cover "Time" from Darkside of The Moon

  • actually their cover of 'time' was the first time i ever heard that song, which then lead to me getting into pink floyd. of course the floyd version is the better but wrathchild's version is a great tribute

  • @nubzz the record company didn't push them so they gave up under that name and ended up as Souls at Zero.

  • FUCKIN YA old school baby i was in high school when this came out! good times, good fuckin times!!!

  • I Was lucky when i recorded this video directly from MTV´s Headbangers Ball in summer 1990 when i was visiting relatives in Miami, Was in VHS format, and i stil have it!

  • VDGRAN11's going to force me to crack out the old VHS tapes and get all that old Headbanger's Ball shit. I'm talking Adam Curry style.

  • L .O. L.

  • AWESOME

  • Gyerekek!

  • the drummer is shannon larkin, the godsmack drummer.

  • probably the best drummer I have ever seen play live

  • Azzaland he's allowed to say or think anything he wants.

  • Comment removed

  • I played this tape so much I trashed it, one of my fav drummers form the 80's Rock on.

  • Heavy Metaaaaaal !!

  • opened up for Wrathchild in Baltimore back in 1985...Yeah they were a good band and great club band but the biggest dicks you would ever meet in your life. They were full of themselves bigtime.....Where are they now? probably washed out losers now.

  • Well I saw them tons of times, eventually got to know them, became friends with Shannon (who is certainly not washed up...unless you think drumming for Godsmack is washed up), opened for them a few times, and like I said...they were always nice and down to earth around me...maybe they were having a bad night when you encountered them...frustrated or something...maybe you had unrealistic expectations...and you can blame the sound problems you previously mentioned on the sound man...not the band.

  • @nighthawk584 I know for one Brad is or was doing sound for Cydi Lauper and LIncoln Park...Lincoln Park are huge - so I would guess he is doing well.

  • @stevieVantanna dude its not lincoln park..... its linkin park....and yes they are huge.... and shannon is even bigger with Godsmack

  • @neojimmy721 you're a douche shut the fuck up. who care how i spelled linkin park except for u loser.

  • Comment removed

  • @stevieVantanna who are you to tell me to shut the fuck up? as far as i see it the only looser (that's how you spell looser) is you... if you going to mention somebody at least have the decency to spell their name right... in my previous comment i was actually agreeing with you that linkin park is a huge band and have done very well for themsleves, as for shannon larkin, hes done even better since he used to drum for ugly kid Joe and now for Godsmack so no need to insult me here.

  • @neojimmy721 I don't think anybody watching a Wratchchild America video cares how I spell Lincoln Park except for you loooooser. nobody spells loser like looser.

....I guess I overreacted, but you had to call me out for a misspelling. Everybody knew who the hell I was talking about...

  • @stevieVantanna im not going to discuss how one spells the verb to loose with you on a wrathchild video either lol.... i guess you overreacted yes but its all cool.... actually it was last year even.... happy new year!!!

  • Seen this band like a dozen times before they made it big. Wraithchild,Kix, and the Road Ducks.88 - 89 The good old days but fuck that makes me feel old as shit

  • @dimebag42011 hard to believe 88-89 was over 20 years ago

  • Good band (Wrathchild America) gone bad (Souls At Zero)... :(

  • I say a what??? You neet to check out the first album again! Nothing wrong with that

  • Comment removed

  • why all the people say bad things of this group....im wach this comments and are very hard to this group....why ?i need information....ples help me!!

  • Because some people are opinionated idiots...and are under the misconception that their opinions matter. I saw these guys so many times back in the day...early through mid 80's...I consider them to be friends and you couldn't meet a nicer, more genuine bunch of guys. They never sold out...they just played what they liked playing...more bands should have that attitude. If you don't like the music, don't listen...but don't knock them down...they have a lot of talent...they're not just posers.

  • Comment removed

  • WRATHCHILE-FUKN-AMERICA is the POOP...all these years later...WOOT

  • SHIT!!

  • Fuck off dickhead if you weren't around to experience the heyday of bands like Wrathchild America then keep your opinion to yourself because nobody but your Mum gives a fuck..

  • can you say hair band? They looknothing like when I knew them back in 84, 85. Is that Brad and Shawn?

  • Attn: Brad

    Do a reunion show @the 9:30

  • You shitheads. Was on my way to see yas live in April '88

  • A friend and I went out to McDonalds before one of their shows with the guitarist. Very cool guy. Way back in the day. I loved them.

  • It's sad to see Shannon with a shit band like Godsmack, but alas... we all have to pay the bills =(

  • Godsmack is not a shit band, dude.

  • @legionXTS I know that you commented this a year ago, i only read it today so please dont get my comment wrong, buut why would you say Shannon was all downhill after entering Godsmack?... i agree that Shannon was a huge asset to the band, making them even better to watch live, i mean he´s an animal behind that drumset but to degradate Godsmack that way?... what bill did Shannon have to pay by becoming a member of Godsmack? the bill of fame and fortune?

  • @neojimmy721: Because this is pretty much every Godsmack song out there: ♫ YEAAHH!!!!! ♫, C-C-C-C-CCC-C-C-CCC-C-CCCC-C-C-C-CCC ♫ YEAH! ♫ CC-C-C--CC-C-C-C-CCC-C--C-C-CCC-C--CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC ♫ UH!!!! ♫ C-C-C-C-CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC-C-C-C-C-C-C-C ♫. I dunno about you, but if it were me, having my fanbase reduced to retarded WWE fans and the vapid Hot Topic mall sluts they bang would be fucking degrading.

  • @legionXTS but then again who are you haha

  • @legionXTS dunno why you keep hitting the C key if most of their songs are tuned to drop D but hey who am i to argue with a AAA grade bassist such as you.. still doesnt answer my main question... why diss them on a wrathchild america video?

  • shannon larkin fuken owns

  • This band Kicked Ass!! Saw them open for Testament. Killed!!!! Should have been HUGE!! To bad Curt Kobain had to show up and RUIN music for us all!

  • I hate when people have nothing useful or original to say. I liked "The Wrestler" too stop pretending like you came up with the Kobain line on your own. Nirvana was a different thing, that doesn't take away from this. Perhaps if you weren't such a narrow minded douche-bag shit talker you could enjoy both?

  • First off, Cock-Smocker, I would not waste my time with a movie the has Micky Dork in it. WORST ACTOR EVER!! So yeah, that was my line. It"s true. Shitbag ass licking no talent IDIOTS like Curt Cobain and the WHOLE anti-guitar playing bunch of homos are why the music scene in the USA is so fucked. Real talented bands like W.A. (Who I have met and are a great bunch of guys) got shoved aside so the regurgitated pablum (look it up) can be forced into our heads. but you like being forced, dont ya!

  • @BLS1313666 Metallica, Pantera, Megadeth, Anthrax, Dream Theater, Tool and probably other heavy non grunge bands that could play guitar well thrived in the Nirvana days

  • Uhhh... maybe it's time to outgrow the middle-school-mentality. Just a suggestion, buddy.

  • Uhhh... Maybe it time to keep your unwanted bullshit to yourself. Your commenting on an OLD conversation that you had no part of. W.T.F!! You are 2 years younger than I am so you should know that the "music" that was out on the radio when we where in "middle-school" was SHIT!!. BEE GEE's anyone? Or is your over blown opinion of your importence getting in the way again?

  • seen them open for pantera, they were great.
