Hopefully, others won't have the same problem I had. No matter what I did, I couldn't get the cover to open; so I enlisted the help of a handy man almost twice my size, and it took him several strong attempts with lots of swearing, pressing and prodding, before he was able to open it. Luckily, he didn't break it by accident--or on purpose! Thank you for your helpful visual and verbal instructions :-)
