Obviously it's a metaphor, but what does "love is the ballet (or valley if you're Jay!) where the dancer falls, love is the game where the loser calls" actually mean? Something to do with irony and contradictions? Love the Warren Bacall stuff they did - this, When We Were Young, Oh Suzanne, Thief In The Night. Reminiscent of the Human League or Eurythmics.
The little guy off bucksfizz now has a stall on eccles market selling mobile phone batteries and nik naks ( assorted crap thet is not the crisps), I read it in bella and bella dont lie.
@marshalllucky David van Day was never in the original Bucks Fizz from 1981 to early 1990s, never ever say he was a member of Bucks Fizz he rode on the coatails of Bobby G and Mike Nolan who are Original members and wanted to sell records of all the major Bucks Fizz hits that he never recorded, he knew that if people saw his band Dollar that would not sell, Bobby G took him to court and won the trademark name so DVD can't perform name Bucks Fizz Cheryl, Mike and Jay can.
about 2 years ago 2 of the orig and 2 new fizzes put out a single remake of Never Going to Give you up, a friend of mine picked it up for me in the UK new releases, about 2006, not bad, B side better, sounds mroe liek them, the Rick Ashley hit of cause, wish a major label put out something new by them, always loved them
Sadly, Warren Harry (AKA Warren Bacall) who wrote this track and many others for Bucks Fizz passed away in March 2008 aged 54. The group have a new CD released May 2008 called Lost Masters 2 - The Final Cut which contains 2 of Warrens songs. RIP.
Tomy you've got Lost Master 1-Lost Masters 2 The Final Cut was released yesterday-an amazing double album with unreleased tracks demos and newly produced extended remixes for Golden Days Run For Your Life & Land Of Makebelieve which are all stunning!
Okay, Jay mimes Valley where the dancer falls and Cheryl very definitely sings Ballet - did they not know the words or way this simply the rivalry really kicking in?
@DannieLu1975 It has been stated by Cheryl that only her and Andy Hill contribute vocals to this song and Jay, who even then was being slowly edged out of the group, was given a tape of the song to listen to and learn. Cheryl was singing/miming "ballet" because she actually recorded the song, whilst Jay was miming/singing "valley" because that's what she thought she heard. Cheryl found it quite amusing at the time, but you can see on other performances that Jay does finally figure it's "ballet"
I think jay was so cool but I always preferred Cheryl. Love those cheek bones! She is big on caravaning now. I just cannot see her emptying the Thetford chemical toilet. Good on her.
Cheryl looks so beautiful here!
