I know this trick. I used to do this with cards. We use "CAR' to tell which one it was. you put out 3 cards in a line. when they pick the card, your friend would say either "Come on" "Alright" or "Ready"  to let you know they picked their card. So the when your friiend calls you back he tells you which card they choose. I always like this trick but having to use two people means you have to plan ahead.
