@zbo7800 I think what they need to do it just build like a casket around where the mobile device goes (similar to like.. ipod docks and such) and cover the rest of the tablet. Because I honestly think that is the only intimidating part; the silicon showing
I think you should post a video about your MID, that device that can be removed from the system itself and be used as a phone. I really want to see it's capabilities
This new hardware is a little odd, but also interesting. I'm really tempted to just get the MID as a VOIP phone but there aren't (yet) any options in the store to buy the tablet and/or keyboard parts for a later upgrade. And what VOIP software is available?
@Maverickx89 but other people like it such as my self including and plus it is all about ai making money not weather a few people dont like it more of if this product is going to sell. wich i think it will as long as it is introduced to the right market.
@Maverickx89, TEHO. they're still offering the touchbook with the updated webcam, bt keyboard, and a few other upgrades for the exact same price as the original. and i'm sure the backlogged customers will probably get the option to choose between the smartbook, new touchbook, and old touchbook.
Sorry guys, its a funny idea but.. Where is the sence? If i want an ip phone i just connect my blutooth headset to the laptop, without takig all the stuff apart - which is much more comfortable an fast than this. Or i just use a smartphone which are voip-enabled today too but allowme me to skype even outside my wlan.
Secondary, i dont want to have to see the actuall electronics of the device exchanging its plugin: what i have static charge on my hands.
@Maverickx89 , i don't think you get it. i believe the phone is the mid that allows the wwan access for itself as well as the base. in other words, think of the phone as the computer and the base as the monitor. in that case, you should still be able to connect the bt headset to the computer.
it's rectangular and has a screen on it! you'll be sued by Apple because of copying the ipad!
sorry this is not innovation!

Where will this stand with the next iteration of Android, IC, merging the phone and tablet versions of the OS.

I just don't get it. Why would I want to pull apart my device to turn it from a screen to a tablet to a netbook.
The cost of a network is small. I could buy these device individually and just use them as is

swiss army knife. Seriously. And can seamlessly switch between linux, android, and chrome OS on the fly. What can't this thing do?

i did got it, ure right. but i just say its pointless, i wont prefer it over the first touchbook. Instead they could save costs not doing it..
