Moose, I know this is like way late and whatnot, but I too have an Alpha 100, still going strong to date with over 500,000 photos under its belt. Just got a Canon T3i for sponsor video and something my brother and mom can use without a day or so of training. I tell you I miss the heft of the Sony when using the Canon, but considering I go the canon for $640 through a great deal at Staples I guess I cannot complain. How do you like the 850 after using it for a few years?
But the button in the lower corner of the lens is "S" for single-shot, "A" for auto, "C" for continuous and "MF" for manual. All refer to the focus mode. Sorry
What do you think about the Vivitar 800mm quality? I think I will buy one for wild life...If you have some sample image of that lens some where could you let me know? Thanks again
@iglyduckling Youtube won't let me post links to places, but if you go flickr my username is lisbokt . search my photos for "800mm" I have some tagged there.
I love the Vivitar. It takes a steady hand but a monopod would help.
Sony DSLR flashes use a different hotshoe from every other major brand of DSLR. So it isn't a DSLR vs. SLR thing, it's a Sony vs. Rest of The World Thing.
What I've heard is that dslr flashes typically use a different hotshoe because they are triggered at a low voltage as opposed to traditional flashes that could send higher voltage through the camera and fry it. Seems stupid if you ask me, but theres probably some reason for it
