  • YES

  • yes becaus ehe his a very good player

  • they're adults... they have already made a decision to play one of the most dangerous sports, they know all the risks. if they choose not wear protective gear it is their decision

  • Just to put this in perspective, there were at least 2 highly ranked pairs figure skaters in the last few years who had their head impaled by skating mishaps, causing severe brain injuries. They don't wear helmets at all. Tell me that figure skaters are tougher & more courageous. Better yet, try telling a hockey player he's a bigger wuss than figure skaters. The guy tripped on the ice, what happened was just weird, and practice without a helmet is way safer than NHL play WITH a helmet.

  • *insert suckup comment about Rick so I can be featured at the top of the comment box*

  • Just a scrach

  • Some teams have policy that helmets must be worn (more after this event). It should remain that way, up to the team; I assume it won't be long / too many more injuries before all teams require helmets to be warn in pregame warmups.

  • @Dane42o

Hey who cares its their face their choice

  • @OTs03AS I'm sure many GM's and owners would care when they are paying millions of dollars to have them play, they want them able to play.

  • @tytsports no new rules.... NO NEW RULES NO NEW RUELS

  • i think they should wear the steel cage infront of your face i just had a hockey game and and the cage saved me from getting a stick in the face

  • @MegaPielover96 how are you supposed to get the double minor then!?

  • @Dane42o take off the helmet if your going to fight

  • oilers suck , go canucks! anyway there all 18+ they know the risks they shouldnt be forced

  • THERE HOKEY PLAYERS!!!!! they can take it

  • a requirement in warm-up? no. but heres who is wearing their helmet in warm-ups, this guy.

  • More NHL segments!

  • Wear a helmet, dont be a fucking idiot... and im glad im seeing more rick in these shows

  • Rick, if it wasnt for you, there would be no TYT sports...

    Cheers

  • @659851 Ha I really appreciate that man. Just trying to keep you guys informed, entertained and bring unique stories that ESPN and the other major networks usually pass on or view as too extreme. All in all, I'm glad your enjoying it!

    -Rick

  • I would say yes to this. Before you know someone could get their selves killed if they don't.

  • Concur. People usually know the risks of being under-protected. Let the individuals decide for themselves. We don't need yet another mandatory rule imposed by authorities, because of one freak accident

  • OWWWWWWWWW That must have cut to the bone

  • @MKRocker2012 Ya think? Seeing how thin the flesh is on ones face...so yeah, to the bone, here's your sign.

  • I dont think it should be a law. Its like with motorcycle helmets, if ur dumb enough not to wear one then you deserve whatever happens

  • This is just a freak accident. If the NHL needs to do anything it should be about the dirty hit/concussion problems. Much bigger problem that affects many more players than this.

  • Simple solution, wear protective gear for fucks sake.

  • dah einstein

  • hockey went to many years without helmets being required so no bring back old time hockey

  • It's fine the way it is. This is a 1 in a million accident.

  • @Nemesis000000 But what's the point in not wearing a helmet during warm ups?

  • @RussianAssassin21 I dunno, but there isn't a point to force someone's decision either.

  • @Nemesis000000 Yeah there is. Safety. One reason there are rules is to protect the players. Players are required to wear helmets during the game so it shouldn't be a big deal to require players to wear them during the warm up. The cost/benefit is a no-brainer. It's simply not worth the risk.

  • @RussianAssassin21 But like I said, there is no risk. This will never happen again in the next 100 years of NHL hockey.

  • What does it matter what fans think? In the end, it's up to players and the NHL to regulate this and the fans leaning one way or the other won't matter at all.

  • Yeah its too bad this guy doesn't have more segments. I enjoy his sports interviews. That and with every topic I have seen he has actually known what he was talking about. Probably one of the most under rated tyt member. Besides who doesn't love the easy mac quote hahaha.

  • @collegeboykeith Thanks so much Keith. I really appreciate the kind words.

    -Rick

  • Yeah keep the damn helmets on during warmup, you're one stray slap shot away from some serious bleeding in the brain.

  • We clearly need more of this!

  • Of couuuuuuurse!

  • after this, yes

  • YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES

  • No brainer. Yes.

  • yes

  • I don't think you need to wear a helmet during warm up, that was a freak accident, I've never seen something like that happen before and I've watched hockey a lot.

  • What a worthless fucking sport.

  • injury is just as possible in practice as during the actual game, so why risk it?

  • Why don't we just let natural selection take its course. lul

  • yea

  • Helmets. You never know when you might get hit. Multiple players= multiple pucks flying around.

  • keep it the way it is.

  • it should definitely be a requirement. i think they should wear visors also and maybe something to protect their necks

  • You should do a video about Tim Thomas snubbing the invitation to the White House

  • With injuries like that, yea head and eye protection looks important.

  • @AFCoulthard Neck protection, too. A couple of players have had their neck slashed in the past, so bad they could easily have bled to death in minutes.

  • @eirefrance That sounds horrible.

  • @AFCoulthard The videos are on Youtube. I warn you it's graphic, but check out Richard Zednik and a goalie whose first name is Clint (can't recall the last name).

  • @AFCoulthard I mean, check it out if you want.

  • yes

  • Hell I would want at the very least a visor be mandatory, maybe even a cage

  • I don't see why you wouldn't want to wear one. And I bet a lot more players will be wearing them after this.

  • well thats what he gets for not wearing a helmet and this is a ha bisky upload and at least he wasnt more hurt and yes it should be required because we need more regulation on things not bigger government just more things to protect people

  • It should be a requirement. It's should be a choice whether you want to look cool and then get your face slashed or be safe and wear a helmet

  • No, it shouldn't be a requirement. Its a freak accident. These happen.

  • Yes u wear it in the game why not in a pregame warm up. Safety first.

  • Kid getting broke tripping in pool check out the video on my channel.

  • subscribe to my gonads.. please

  • One freak accident and you have to make a rule? I'm not buying it.

  • I know nothing about hockey but I don't think it should be a requirement. If they wanna wear a masks let em wear masks if they don't then they take that risk. Leave it up to the players.

  • Yes, it should be a requirement.

  • Whoever is giving them their paycheck can decide that, if the owner wants his team to wear helmets in the warmups then they should have to. I even think if the owner says that players on his team have to wear visors then they also should have to.

  • @ILockItDown thats pretty much how it is, for the new york rangers, every skater wears a helmet during warmup. while most teams allow their players to choice. most players wears helmets in the first play so if there are a couple players who feel more comfortable without. i think it shouldnt be a rule at all. a weird accident and a first in the nhl shouldnt determine the rules of the game.

  • I'd say no, it was a freak accident but it wasn't a large one. Of course at some point a rule like this will occur since rules based on safety only occurs when a career/life threatening injury takes place.

  • He stepped on a puck, slid into one teammate, then into the boards where the two of them tripped up another teammate, who accidentally stepped on his forehead. I don't think we have to worry about THAT happening too many times.

  • It's just warm-ups, so no. But real games they are required and its the right choice.

  • thedirty.com/2012/01/taylor-hall-is-a-douchebag/

  • Yes it should be a requirement.

  • It should not be a requirement.

  • Ouch...

...On the bright side, the Ice will numb the pain, and keep down swelling.

  • It should not be a requirement.
