Thank you very much for posting this. this gives me a general and very good idea on what to do for my SOHC engine; yes i know it's different, but now i know what to do for specific parts. thanks. great HOW TO video! :)
Hi, I have a question for you. My husbands camshaft positions sensor or his crankshaft sensor is bad and he wants to change it. Where is it located and do you know of any videos on how to replace it? Its a B18C1 motor.. Thanks and anything you have helps.
@ChgoGurl7 1st thing what year is the the motor? also is the b18C1 in its original car (integra Gsr) or is it swapped into another donor vehicle? is he running it as an OBD1 setup or OBD2 setup? i ask this because wiring harnesses and sensor were added or ommited during the different years.
the vid shows measuring valve clearance between rocker and cam, other vids show measuring between rocker and valve stem.. what is correct? or does it make no odds as it is relevent either side?
hey how can you tell witch valves are witch. i bought a b16 head and i want to fully build it but i got stuck because everyone always asks me to make sure not to get the valves mixed up and shit.
@63lmorales the exhaust valves are slightly smaller than the intake valve and are made of steel the intake are made of a special alloy so use a magnet to find the exhaust ones. its always important to label them when you remove them that way you know where they go back into.
@jrthastar its all up to you just remember you will get more torque out of a b20 block but this can be achieved other ways with different block....im just saying as a stock setup.
hey i got a b18cl...and i wanna rebuild the bottom block and i plan to go all motor...im gonna pick up some oversize(82mm) p73 pistons...what size bearings should i get for better performance?
if you plan on staying with stock rods then go with OEM bearings from honda, or ACL, or King bearings, as long as youre not reboring your main journals or rod journals you should go with OEM STD size if you do bore ask the machine shop what size they bored to and buy that size bearings
Could I swap a d16 vtec head & valve cover on a non vtec d16?

how do you remove and re-install the keepers?

hey what special tools do you need to work on the head? i've heard you need some tool for removing the valve stem seals or something.
