@webkinzluvr4life - The deeper the better. 5' would be about minimum with no blocks if you're just learning. First talk to the guard, then see if there are "NO DIVING" markings around. After someone at the pool can determine you're safe to try it, then give it a shot. You may have to demonstrate the steps prior to this first.
Wetting the rim of the goggles help to suction around your eyes, its called cohesion. Also, I found out that where the strap is helps, too. If the goggle is a double strap, try putting one strap at the crown of your head, and the second strap a little below it.
Also, the type of goggle you're wearing is important, Endurance goggles have a foam like squishy thing around your eyes, while diving ones have a soft rubbery suction to them. Your adjustment might be wrong too, try adjusting the nose.
I loose my goggles when I dive, too. When they come off my eyelids flips and its so weird! Sometimes it depends on what kind of goggles you have. Do you have goggles where the area around the eye is squishy? Or like this plastic type where it suction cups really well around your eyes? I found out that if you have the squishy kind it comes off easier because it doesnt suction as well as the other type. Push the goggles really tight into your eyes, wetting the rim helps a lot, too. Hope I helped!
if you're doing a swim dive on the edge of the pool and not on a block, would 5 feet of water work? thats how deep my pool is. please reply
