I think the poster has removed some of the comments because they seem out of order. I like Rosenblatt but actually think Peerce, Hershman and even Sophie Tucker also did justice to the song but as a Cantor Rosenblatt was one of the very greatest ever.

This is amazing and as a Jew with some communication between myself and Vinyl I never thought in any way he has negative feelings towards Jews. Why did this lovely song sung in a heavenly way have to endure the some of the usual anti-semitism and pro-nazi bullshit. Dearest buddmar, I know how you feel, I lost my jiddishe mame too in 1996 and no day passes that I don´t think of her, I miss her humor, we used to laugh a lot, her caring of me even I am an adult now, we did so much together and I miss her so much, but also happy and warm memories, however this song brings tears to my eyes , I will never forget her positive lifestile even after her whole family died at Sobibor, She was realy something, a real jiddishe mama....
