  • Enjoy the music... leave both iyddish and muslims in peace for this moment... I used to listen to this song when I was a little kid, at home, in a long play 33 1/2 rotation. Those were the best days of my life.

  • Thank you very much.I love it very much and I cannot help it but the tears are coming down my face and I am not Jewish but the feelings in this song are beautiful. Alla.

  • One can hear the voice praising the ALMIGHTY!!!!

  • Ejn wunderschejeines lied ischt das ich muss jeudesmal trauern wenn ich here das .............!

  • We Poles miss you very much

  • @Inteligibilny1 Very sweet.

  • @Inteligibilny1 Too late

  • @metyuewb for what ?

  • @Inteligibilny1 For the Poles to miss the Jews

  • @metyuewb Why ? Jews was..are part of our culture We remember it. I know you are angry for us We made a lot of evil against you its a shame . But ....pleas forgive and try understand people who cant be brave . German nazi and USSR attack you and us too we lost 6000000 citizens and 1/3 of our country but we still remember of our 1000 years history

  • @Inteligibilny1 All I said was it's too late for Poles to miss Jews, which is true. :/ Listen, the nations of Europe reacted differently to the holocaust: it was all up to them, that's right, some actively resisted and refused to hand their Jews over and some seized the opportunity and even exterminated some of their Jews themselves. No one is asking you to apologize for anyone: you are not a nation. But neither is anyone asking you to defend the aggressors: that's your choice too.

  • @metyu We dont defend aggressors we fight against him .Try warszawa 1945 on yt

  • @Inteligibilny1 That's just what I mean, you don't think of yourselves as aggressors against Jews? "Try" Jedwabne, 1942

  • @metyuewb Yes our people did it but not our country like German or France it is difference. our authority never said do it , During such horrible time people going med

  • @Inteligibilny1 Yes, poor murderers, they had no time to savor their sanity. The fuck are you talking about, you think every country occupied by the Germans had massacres like that? Poland has a long and bloody history of anti-semitism and you know it and everyone does, so why the hell deny it??

  • @metyuewb I think you dont know history of Europe an you dont know nothing abaut war at eastern Europe . "Poland hes a long a bloody history of anty -semyty" tell my when? When our polity did a massacres of you . witch country was with nazi during a war and witch fight against him do you know?

  • @Inteligibilny1 and I think you're a plain psychopath and I don't have time for your shit what fucking planet are you living on? By the way I already gave a place and a date for example, Jedwabne 42, look it up, and go somewhere else with your idiotic lies, Poland is FAMOUSLY WORLD-OVER ONE OF THE MOST ANTI-SEMITIC COUNTRY IN THE WORLD YOU EVEN HATE YOUR JEWS ONE THEY'VE BEEN EXTERMINATED so shut the fuck up twat

  • @metyuewb My Grandfouder saved a Men and his child , Iam very sorry thet you thing such bed about every Pols. God bless you

  • @metyuewb Our massacres at Ukraina / Pamięci wydarzeń na Wołyniu.wmv

  • Many people compare Yossele Rosenblatt (1882-1933) to Enrico Caruso. He easily was the greatest cantor, certainly in the era of recorded music. Shalom to all.

  • @hb2019 Thank you We still missing you

  • Nice

  • my mama dedicated

  • I would like to reborn as a Jewish *_*

  • Incredible!!

  • Mazel Tov from an atheist!

  • I'm Palestinian and enjoy listening to this. And while being critical of the Israeli government, I'm not anti-Semitic and really don't see a point to it. Is there something wrong with me?

  • @nahedh Jewish music as all music belongs to the world. In your case you might well be of Jewish descent.

Turks forced many Jewish villages to convert to Islam. Then again you may just appreciate very good music which requires a rather sensitive soul.

  • @nahedh Not at all. This is a lovely piece of music.

  • @nahedh No, it means you are totally healthy, a warm-hearted human being, wise enough to understand that bad politics and private people are two different cups of tea. I am a non-religious German and I love Jewish, as well as arab music. Music connects people all over the world like nothing else! If mankind looses music, we will loose our soul.

  • @nahedh There is nothing wrong with you, and, as an American Jew, I long for the day when the fighting will be done between our people, and Palistinians can live in peace and joy in your own state, determining your own lives, the occupation ended, and also for the Israelis to live in peace and security...and maybe we can learn from each other..

  • @nahedh sending you love and blessings from a Jew in NYC! Thank you for your comment...I absolutely disapprove of what Israel is doing and has done in the past, we are cousins and should all live in peace - Jew Muslim Christian Manichaean Yazid doesn't matter

  • @nahedh No, there is nothing wrong! It shows you have heart and feelings for others. May you live long and prosper!

  • @nahedh And I'm a Jew who does hope for peace and friendship between Palestinians and Jews. Thank you for your open heart!

  • @nahedh No, love covers all-- : )

  • that all depends. are you moslem or christian?

  • @nahedh No, but better check if your mother is jewish. ;)

  • @nahedh

All sensible people enjoy good music and art. I'm listening to it, and anyone can tell by my name that I'm not Jewish. ;)

  • I love this song so much. A masterpiece.

  • only Yossele Rosenblatt is the greatest it reminds me of my Mother

listening to him on the radio it moves me deeply

  • It touchs a soul so deeply,I wish,I could get this song from one of my sons for birthday

  • Yossele Rosenblatt IS the song! Others only sing it.

    Job te Pas

    Holland

  • Hag Pesah sameah... ;-)

  • The name of the song, as song by Yossele Rosenblatt is "A Yiddishe Mama," and not MY Yiddishe Mama."

  • Makes me cry every time.

  • Thank you for this video/audio. From a nice Italian boy from n.y.c. , this is an inspiration in quality singing. I studied voice briefly with the cantors son (Henry Rosenblatt) As a singer I can surly learn something great listening to the cantor. His voice was introduced to me by a New York Rabbi (Josef Safsel). Check out my channels, Gennarokravitz and ikravitz here on Youtube........gk.

  • Сергей Виноградов.Запись совершенна,ибо лишена современных аранжировок.

  • Even though im not jewish this music still speaks to me

  • ווי דאַמפּלינגז

  • love my yiddishe mama

  • The best!

  • Seven people don't have good hearing, or just don't understand what real music is.

  • splendid! to hell with antesmites all, of past and now.

  • hahahahahahaha

  • @juju340712

What nonsense, written by an anti-Israel creep. Israel is the homeland of the Jews, just like Saudi Arabia is the homeland of the Muslims.

  • @iralaser Israel is also a homeland for many Arabian people.

  • @iralaser lol, you are talking nonsense, who said you own the land? why can't you live in peace with other people? the other arabs are not only muslims ya know, there are also christians among those palestinians.

  • L'shanah tovah. Enjoy Yossele as much as I do.

  • @juju340712 t sympa julien...toda

  • Ah a previous time and a previous life

    Mazel Tov

  • as an american / italian tenor of standards i could really learn something from the great cantor.i'm young compared to this period of music but i fit perfectly in this time. i was a fellow pipe smoker of the cantors son henri rosenblatt so i feel even that much more connected.thanx pallie, and bless you.gk

  • Thanks for the wonderful introduction. I had read quite a bit about Yossele but much of your info was new to me. God bless.

  • I love this rich and wonderful music. I am Italian that has come to understand all the spiritual blessing I have all because of the wonderful Jewish people. Baruch Ha Shem for Israel and your good people.

  • God bless you!

    An Italian Jew

  • My favorite two Scriptures from the Prophets, my hope to see my mother in Paradise , The LORD will lay bare his holy arm in the sight of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God. AND

5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, and by his wounds we are healed.

6 We like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. I LOVE YOU2!

  • Let's hope to meet our dear ones in Paradise!

  • My late father loved his voice very much. Thanks for uploading.

  • Happy New Year to Jews the world over! Mazel Tov from a Protestant!

  • To Da! -"...and congradulations to you as well."

  • I think the poster has removed some of the comments because they seem out of order. I like Rosenblatt but actually think Peerce, Hershman and even Sophie Tucker also did justice to the song but as a Cantor Rosenblatt was one of the very greatest ever.

  • This is amazing and as a Jew with some communication between myself and Vinyl I never thought in any way he has negative feelings towards Jews. I don't believe it and in fact his very favorite tenor is Jan Peerce who was not only a Jew but observed the faith. A true Anti Semite hates Tucker/ Peerce/ Merrill. Schmidt and even lies about the death of Schmidt often ( you tube-comments) Remember Hitler was a vegetarian who loved dogs but murdered Jews (and others) The dirty Bastards.

  • Half prepared for what? There isn't much that needs to be said to an opera listener whose idol is Deanna Durbin! The last thing I need is to receive messages from you. I blocked you for a reason; take a hint moron.

  • Comment removed

  • The very finest recorded version of this dearly beloved and lovely, meaningful song. May all mothers so revered both Jewish and non Jewish-be able to hear these lyrics, whether they be alive or not. Amen.

  • one of the most beautiful songs ever written about a mother (un ish bin nisht a yid:-)- this song just couldn't be transposed into "A Christian Mama" or "a Muslim Mama" or even a "Hindu Aama" or "Buddhist mother" - it could only be about a "altitschke yiddishe mama"- Oy

  • i cry too, they never usdestand.

  • Makes me cry every time.

  • That one is beautiful!

    The soul touching!

Like the Jewish Nechama dwells on this song, and the performance is great

  • obwol mein Fater polnisch ist, habe ich eine yiddische mutter. Vas fyur eine shoene frau. Vir haben es gut gehobt.

  • this make me aware of my roots so much, born out of a Hungarian Jewish mother........

  • @dowed1 Italian father , Ukranian jewish mother : ))

  • By usiąść i zapłakać nie wystarcza mi już łez .

  • שיר נהדר ויפה

    התרגשות רבה לשמוע אותו

    יישר כח גדול

  • Swoją drogą fajne krzaczki

  • Ahh.. JOSEF ROZENBLATT sings it so YIDDISHE !..that you start feeling for all Jewish mothers, every separate Jewish..really..it breaks my heart :-(

  • great - a treasure to be preserved:)

  • VinylToVideo: Thank you from the bottom of my little gay heart. As I justy be referred to by an idiot as Mr. Gay in another matter I appreciate deeply your effort to share with an old fag a song he loves. Danke.

  • Why did this lovely song sung in a heavenly way have to endure the some of the usual anti-semitism and pro-nazi bullshit. The jewish people are exceptionally productive members of the world community who merely want to be left in peace. If your live sucks its not the fault of any jewish person. You should find out what its like to be hated for what you are, as in my case of being gay. I'm also Irish so I'm not in some Zionist fairytale you cooked up. Get a life already.

  • Previously I had only heard this sung by Jan Peerce in English if I recall. Nice to hear it sung by the Caruso of cantors!

  • VinylToVideo: Your right Peerce sang it in English and if anyone out there in youtube land has it--On Peerce in Las Vegas-- I believe please post it. Peerce sang a more complete version of the song on the Mike Douglas show one afternoon. The present performance is very moving.

  • Yes it was on the Las Vegas album. I'll post it from my reel to reel tape.

  • bardzo, bardzo to wykonanie cenię

  • My mother just died on Thursday. This song mean a lot to me. This song was also important to my mother when her mother died.

  • I wanted to express my condolences to you on the passing of your Mom. It is something that only those that have experienced to be truly able to grasp the enormity of this loss.

I too share in this as my Mom passed away over four years ago and think of and miss her daily.

  • Потрясающе!!!Огромное спасибо за сохраненный,безценный клад.

  • from all the version I have heard it is the most beautifull. It goes deep in your heard and you feel the feelings of the singer deep.

  • Does anyone have a transliteration of Rosenblatt's singing of this? I would love to sing this in Yiddish, but there are some parts of his singing that I can't make out the words. Thank you!

  • I'll be glad to transliterate it for you. Is your spoken language American English? Do you sing in Yiddish?

  • Hi rem1736, I have just transliterated Rosenblatt's Yiddishe Mame in Word format. I'll be glad to forward it to you.

  • Thanks. I just sent you an email as well. I am planning on singing it in Yiddish, my main spoken language is Am. Eng., but I know a little German and Hebrew as well.

  • Shalom to all chosen people, beautiful song !

  • So nice voice!

  • Soul music really comes in all colors, doesn't it?

    Shalom, bro...

    ...'sup, Bubby?

  • I love this song and I'm going to be singing it at Woldenberg Village in Algiers, Louisiana, in the near future.

  • ein groisser dank far deim famous lid

    es iz hartsik far deim az endere obn nicht der gefil vi ven ounzere eltern obn zis guezingn;

  • great!

  • not much to do with the song... little sad thing

  • The highest percentage of what? Dutch Jews, Outside Jews. I'm not sure we can compare the quality of antisemitism of one country to another. Antisemitism tends to be as vicious as it can get away with no matter where. What can we say? Kadish. Kadish.

  • "Anti semitism" doesnt mean "anti jewish" at all. Most Semitic People are arabs my friend. I´m not saying "jews are bad" or something, dont get me wrong. I just cant stand the wrong use of that anti semitic stuff.

To the song: its very sad, like most jewish songs are.

  • Anti-Semitism DOES indeed mean anti-Jewish. Your notion is quite sophmoric. Though, you may argue that the term is dated and that Arabs, Maltese, etc. may also be described as speaking Semetic languages, Anti-Semitism was a term invented by European Jew-haters in the 19th century to specifically demonstrate the precieved alien nature of Jews and had nothing to do with denoting discrimination against other peoples. Your assertion is philologically and historically dishonest.

  • it does NOT,get used to it. if you want to say "water" say it,dont try to fool people into "a clear non-alcoholic fluid is water, too" because it is NOT.

Try to google about semitic people, only 5% of em are in fact JEWISH.If you try to use the antisemitic thingy against anything that goes against jews and you think youre right, im ok with that.youre still not that well educated, thought.Pathetic use of the term "antisemitic" wont get any better if you reuse it every 5 seconds.

    Semitic =! Jewish

  • SirMafia-Your simplistic way of defining life and culture is disturbing in it's intent,as well disguised as you attempt to make it appear otherwise. Let us call it too as it really is. The only fool that I see here is you pretending to be other than you really are,and attempting to pull the wool over the eyes of naive and unsuspecting peoples. You sir-are a BIGOT!!

  • SirMafia-Although you are technically correct-in usage, it only pertains to hating SOLELY Jews

  • Ye,the only usage nowadays is the "hate jews" but to be correct, its a wrong usage, thats everything i wanted to say. simplistic would be a "ah what the hell, lets stick to anti jewish here" btw. Stop calling people fool´s if they state a 100% true FACT (which you may not like/agree with but cant deny).

  • SirMafia-I fully agree with you that the normal use of this term is incorrect-this being said,It is still true that present usage refers to Jews alone., I have never, nor do I expect to hear it referred to Muslims-or specifically Muslims on middle eastern ancestry. You are quite right in what you are saying.

  • 100% true FACT

Oh dear, is there a little bed wetting fear that needs for an unquestionable absolute?

  • Sehr schönes Lied!!

    Danke!

  • i mean DUTCH Holland Netherlands.

  • Holland is a region in the Netherlands, constituting two provinces. Dutch is the name of their their nationality and language.

  • kleenemira still waiting for your excuse

  • for Kleenemira I am not 50 but 73 and I am a survivor and no liar you want to bet???

  • The dutch people where no good during the

Shoah,i know I survived the Camps Belsen etc

there is none of my family that can tell about

    it except me. samuel

  • Dear Shmuel,My grand-father (his name was Shmulik too) had been evaporated in Auschwitz-Birkenau .He was Polish, all his family was assassinated (except my mother)there.A lot of time I believed that the highest rate was in Poland but when I studied the subject I discovered that the Dutch people-who gave later the false impression of being philosemitic, was in reality worst than the Polish due to their envy in the economic success of the Jews

Ana Franck died because of the Dutch felony !

  • you are 50 years old. You was not in the camp bergen belsen.

lol........... you are 50 years old..... you are a lier!!!

  • But if you look at his profile more carefully you will see he says he is really 73. You shouldn't go around calling people liars unless you know what you are talking about

  • do you mean dutch or german?

  • soy católica y me siento conmovida por la canción y por el intérprete...me entristece saber que se denoste a las religiones que otros profesan con respeto y amor.

todo mi respeto y consideración a la colectividad judía !!

  • wonderful voice, I like Yossele Rosenblatt very much, especially also his interpretation of "Kol Nidrey".

By the way, pls have a look at my videos, I made some clips of a Epstein bros.-concert, which was 1998!

  • A voice from heaven!

  • Gracias, por hacerme recordar tan lindos tiempos que he pasado en mi infancia escuchando Mi Idishe Mamme con mi querida Mama.

  • This song is one of my favorites.

  • Nearly a dozen years have passed since I lost my own dear, sweet, and precious Yiddishe Mama ... thinks makes me think of her and the despair and loneliness I feel ... such mememories I have of her!!! This brings a tear to my eye.

  • Dearest buddmar, I know how you feel, I lost my jiddishe mame too in 1996 and no day passes that I don´t think of her, I miss her humor, we used to laugh a lot, her caring of me even I am an adult now, we did so much together and I miss her so much, but also happy and warm memories, however this song brings tears to my eyes , I will never forget her positive lifestile even after her whole family died at Sobibor, She was realy something, a real jiddishe mama....

    Shalom

    Dirkje from Holland

  • Dearest Dirkje, Dank U vell. How wonderful and marvelous to have been blessed with a loving mother. We still feel sadness over our loss, but we know our sweet mothers will live forever in our hearts! My warmest greetings to you, I have visited the Netherlands many times, I love the Dutch people, and I can sing "Het Wilhelmus" in Dutch (thanks to YouTube!). Shalom from Philadelphia.

  • Hallo again, thanx for your kind words buddmar. Yes we have been blessed with our mothers and they will always be with us in our hearts. I have a big smile on my face reading you can sing the Wilhelmus in Dutch, that is more than a lot of Dutch people can say you know!!! Good to read your visits to Holland were so nice, may you always have a good time here. I wish you all the best and as my dear mother always said: "I wish you a happy life and may you get 120 years old in good health"

  • Dear Dirkje: Oy! Such a nice reply! By the way, on one trip to the Netherlands with my Mother, the two of us were walking through a beautiful garden (my Mother also loved Holland!) and she said to me "How can you not help feeling love and admiration for the Dutch people? They love flowers and gardens and beauty so much!" We also both fanatically admired Rembrandt.

  • buddmar-The German Nazis of the 40's were a unique group. They were renowned to be able to murder children and others by day-with no remorse, while being able to cry at an opera the same night. What a gift nature provided them with.
