My greatest sympathies go out to people hurt by exotic pets. And I ask that we honor their death and/or suffering by NOT enforcing a police state tyranny.
I've never owned a dangerous pet. That's not my agenda. I HAVE been accosted by dangerous police on many occasions. It's our duty - all of us - to fight tyranny on every level. The elephant in the living room is the bully with the gun and the license to kill... He's watching you every day.

@Mrds225 I don't believe this is correct wild animals always have the potential of being dangerous no matter who owns them or what people do to condition them. I'm also pretty sure that a python would prefer a large space compared to a small glass aquarium.
my tag lines: Stupidity becomes no one. Do unto others as you would have them do to you! You can take me out of the wild...but the wild is always in my heart. Stop, your love is killing me! What did I do to deserve this tiny cage? When all they want is to run wild... When humans love their wild pets to death. Man, the wild killer. Wild animals belong in the wild, if the average human could afford to care for these animals properly, I could see owning them, but they can't, and shouldn't!!!
I think anyone can understand the fascination people have with big cats and exotic animals, and also the desire to have one of these animals in ones life. However based on I am seeing the allure of owning these animals is quickly diminished with the reality of keeping these animals. Also in my eyes its simply not right to remove these animals from the wild, even captive born animals should remain in a sanctuary away from people.
When your dog escapes the yard, it gets caught by Animal Control and taken to the pound. When your tiger escapes, it's gets shot on sight. I love these animals and want to be close to them, but I love them too much to own one (as if you could really "own" such a divine animal) or condone other people owning them.
I don't understand WHY they wanna keep lions and tigers as pets. Humans have created an AI dinosaur toy 'pet', they should use it for tigers and lions too.

@rrip1 not wanting to insult me but that was just naïve. Do you have any other source for your oh-so hurt feelings? People, if you want to have an opinion on difficult themes like this one, can´t you ever `do your homework´ before shouting out what first comes to your mind............
@StormyOfficial "...you cant take the wild out of the animal" .Yes, you cannot, and that implies the dogs, cats and rats that live as pets in houses just as much as those animals concidered to be "exotic" (with "exotic" being a very slacky synonyme for "rare", not for "non-domesticated"). It isnt an argument against exotic animal ownership, but maybe that´s exactly the reason why it suits this organisation of hypocrits (Outreach for animals) so perfectly...
@1t2t3t4t5t6t7 That however is not so much true for cats and dogs, as they have been domesticated over hundreds of years, where as lions and tigers have not.
@StormyOfficial even thousands of years in some cases. Domestication may make animals easier to keep as they are (genetically) more used to humans, but it doesn´t excuse caring little to not at all about them (which is true for many "normal" animal keeperes). Exotics are, as they are more difficult and request a serious decision, MOSTLY cared perfectly well for. Examples of some abused exotics dont say ANYTHING about how well they are cared for in general, in return, "normal" pets fill up
@StormyOfficial Cont: thousands of animal shelters.Remember that every case of an abused exotic is extremely media relevant, whereas ´boring´ normal pets…
As for the dangers:It is 30 times as probable to get killed by a *domesticated* dog than by any big cat, 50 times more probable to get struck by a lightening and 45.000
@StormyOfficial Cont: times more probable to die in a motorcycle accident…srsly, there´s real problems to care about (and the people that put themself at risk are the owners, never the general public, whereas a car crash usually involves others).

Thank you for bringing this up! Ordered a copy, and used the code for you guys! As a biology major and conservation geek this will an exciting addition to my bookcase.
@Frankiej27 That's okay--you don't need to feel dumb. I meant it in that the only reason people keep animals like these as pets is for self-satisfaction. There is no benefit to the animal whatsoever. The person is trying to fill their own need, as in they feel they are one with the animal and must address that, or for macho reasons: I can tame a tiger, so I must be feared. Unless they releasing the offspring into the wild, then the animals suffer at the hands of what they believe is love.
THANK YOU, BCR, for bringing this film to my attention. My husband and I are a bit guilty--we were seriously thinking about getting a couple of wolves. But after watching television shows like Fatal Attraction and films like this one, I realize that is one of the stupidest things I could ever do. These animals should only be "owned" by groups like you, zoos, or be in their wild habitat in reserves. It shocks me that someone can be so selfish to deny a wild animal his freedom.
I'm not member of PETA or an enviromental nutcase. Common sense must prevail here. These big cats are natural predators and their natural behavior is unpredictable at best and fatal at worst. Look at the case of illusionist Roy Harn; he was nearlyby a tiger that was "domesticated". You can not tame exotic animals; their nature is to hunt and kill prey. Even the domesticated house cat is unpredictable, if one of them bites you, it won't cost you a limb or appendage, But a lion bite just might.
@BCE42906 Absolutely! I love that you understand even our 'house cats' are not toys. Owning wild animals is best left to books and fun stories we can read and imagine. NOT in our backyards.

looks like an interesting movie, but as a reptile keeper, i dont think lumping snakes in with big cats is a good idea. totally different animals with totally different needs.
Every single wild animal should NEVER be locked up for the sake of selfish people who keep them as pets. Can't they understand that it's the same thing as kidnapping a person and enclosing them in a small space with no room to do what they please. How sick can you be to do that?!
I know how beauiful it is to be close to them and love them dearly and they love you but you can't enclose them. If you love them then you would want them to be free. That's why they finally break and kill. ♥

I saw a clip that big cats rescue showed of a lion looking out the window in a closed in room inside. God, that killed me. I cried so hard. To lock that beautiful wild lion up in a small room inside was beyond sick. Sigh....My god.
Also, that beautiful tiger used as an attraction at a gas station! Again, I cried so hard. He was in a small cage. Thankfully they found him and he'll be released in december or january! Thank goodness! I think it's due to you or another wonderful rescue .♥
to the ebola outkast - that comment makes no sense given the link about exotic pet issues on your youtube channel. WHAT?? if you don't think this is COMMON, maybe you should get off your ass and visit a sanctuary and find out the stories behind all the wild residents there that were acquired because of the COMMON occurrences with average people owning these wild animals - it isn't just the dope dealers that own these. it's very common average people.
I can't bare to see these beautiful animals locked up in a small room because they're somebody's "Pet." I love the beautiful relationships that most of them have together but most animals are so unhappy being locked up. It's beyond horrible and heartbreaking when they're taken for side show attractions. There arn't any words for how cruel and heartbreaking that is.
i've seen this stuff for decades and that's why i won't see this film - it will enrage me to want to commit homicide on someone that's doing this or those that kill the animals. at least i'm being honest about my feelings on this. it makes me absolutely sick to know this is going on everywhere all the time. all we can do is continue to educate the masses or one by one. those that really need to see this film, won't. and nothing ever changes their minds. then the animals are the ones that suffer.
Not all nature can or should be domesticated, if we force nature to do as we wish then we lose nature and our children and their children will never know what it was!
people say that we should be the voice for the animals in need when they do have voices powerful strong and dangerous voices they arent heard because we ignore them.
I'm getting rather sickened by these lies regarding that people keeping these animals are at all 'common'. I wish people would use their brains sometimes instead of falling for everything a manipulative person has to say.
pet lion. 'yay!!!' 8 month late..... 'he's killing brad , shoot him ' police shoots brad and pet keeper ... lion too . lion is taugt to do tricks .... right , wrong lion was taught to thin bad about look-alike stupid over grown monkeys. your a smarrter monkey act like it , Eduardo Luna a 10 year old consern about animals
@xKissingShadowsx I don't think zoo animals are exposed to the same sort of abuse as animals in the circus. No offence. At least zoos seem to care about the health of their animals.
Will this film help make a difference? When videos like these come out, I feel bad for two reasons - the first is that this is an issue in the first place and the second? That I can't do anything about it. What can we viewers do (even if we live in Europe, like I do) to help change laws and make things right? Watching this is plain upsetting, especially when you know that you can't stop indecencies from happening.
My greatest sympathies go out to people hurt by exotic pets. And I ask that we honor their death and/or suffering by NOT enforcing a police state tyranny.

looks like an interesting movie, but as a reptile keeper, i dont think lumping snakes in with big cats is a good idea. totally different animals with totally different needs.

Listen to the call of the wild, Do you hear it?, No?, You wanna know why?, It's because there not in the wild anymore, there in peoples backyards.

I hate anything in a cage -_-
But at least some zoo's treat the animals right and give them the help they need to return to the wild. :}
But I still hate seeing them in cages :/

@xKissingShadowsx Zoos are a hell of a lot better than where some of these poor animals wind up.
ridingisasport 5 months ago
@ridingisasport I know that, but I still cant stand them in cages :P Like the circus...
xKissingShadowsx 5 months ago
@xKissingShadowsx I don't think zoo animals are exposed to the same sort of abuse as animals in the circus. No offence. At least zoos seem to care about the health of their animals.

Will this film help make a difference? When videos like these come out, I feel bad for two reasons - the first is that this is an issue in the first place and the second? That I can't do anything about it. What can we viewers do (even if we live in Europe, like I do) to help change laws and make things right? Watching this is plain upsetting, especially when you know that you can't stop indecencies from happening.
