  • One of the few UKbands of the eighties who actually made intelligent pop music, this song is just amazing

  • Flea brought me here

  • @johnnydreamsable Does he like this album?

  • Tears!!

  • In my humble opinion, that's the best humankind can offer.

  • This album took 3 or 4 listens to hook you.Bad news for record company but great that they paid for the album of the back of their popular hits and left us with a gem!

  • I was expecting Talk Talk but what I found was Talk Talk!

TT, my all time favorite!! En met het verstrijken van de jaren... wordt het gemis aan nieuw werk van TT alleen maar groter....

  • graham coxon brought me here

  • D'aweeee gosh. Thank you Gra, this is beautiful.

  • Thank you Graham Coxon.

  • The beauty of minimalism in music.

  • listen to me . its how i feel.

  • How to feel good in 1 song. It´s beautiful.

  • i'm a man with musical taste. thank you talk talk for helping me.

  • the entire album is a masterpiece!!! check out "the laughing stock", masterpiece also!!!!

  • Si la vida fuera justa Talk Talk se merecería tocar otra vez en vivo, con las nuevas tecnologías tal vez podría tocar los temas que en su momento no se podía. Nosotros también nos lo merecemos en esta época tan chata y decadente de la música. Saludos.

  • Simply beyond compare.

  • i have to agree with "ickleian"...did'nt think this record was as good as colour of spring when it was first released (and i probably still don't) but it can't be easy to follow up an album like that.anyway, it's much better than i originally thought and it has become one of my favorites as well

  • The benchmark album for years to come, timeless in its minimalistic ambience and vocal work. Bold, naked and an emotionally capturing build with fragments of introspective jazz, thrilling rock guitars and the mesmerizing voice of Hollis.

Still amazes me how the album has not dated in 22 years. Pop musics "A Love Supreme".

  • @rhumballion Well put.

  • @rhumballion too true

  • its about time mark hollis/talk talk were in the music hall of fame.

  • Talk Talk still alive! I swear! I mean the spirit... come on myspace gariac and listen the Life's what you make it tribute.

  • One of the finest British albums ever made

  • Good lord does anyone know the chords for this song? I hear an Em and G maj., but what else?!

  • @F5unleashed0839

Em, what follows is Am as it seems.

    Em - Am - Em - Am - G

  • @F5unleashed0839

Em, what follows is Am as it seems.

Em - Am - Em - Am - G. Its the voicing that i cannot identify properly.

  • The last three TT albums. Music doesn't get any better than these ! Let's be thankful that this band existed !

  • The telltale marks of the genre—textured guitars, glacial tempos, an emphasis on dynamics, electronica, ambience and minimalism—were all in place, and paved the way for bands like Sigur Rós, Mogwai, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Low, and latter-period Radiohead

  • Right on the money

  • "To incessently drive on, dressed in ghost's surrendering gown, heaven bless you in your calm my gentle friend heaven bless you"

Well it doesn't get any better than that? How wonderfull that there is music that you can't put a label on. Nothing and I mean nothing compare's to this. And finally a quote by Mr. Hollis that says it all...

"Before you play two notes learn how to play one note - and don't play one note unless you've got a reason to play it." - Mark Hollis (1998)

  • I just broke out in total goosebumps..ultimate album to listen to in the dark! Thank you Mr Hollis!

  • If My Bloody Valentine can reform and still be amazing, why not Talk Talk?

    Please...?

  • I was thinking the same thing when you watched all the old bands performing at Glastonbury this year that it would be wonferful if Talk Talk would get together for next years event, but i think they'd have to do two completely different sets, The rockier stuff up to and including Colour of Spring then a more intimant setting to cover "Spirit of Eden and Laughing stock" but the fans must and an an ideal world the fans would be allowed to smoke "jazz cigarettes " during the show.

  • lovely-thank you Mr Hollis

  • Great record yeah...This song too is my favorite by them. When the piano comes in, you stop doing anything else, and just listen, sign of real great music.

  • Probably my favorite track on the album.

  • got this is a nice song from talk talk . i have got all there music and have liked them since i was 18 i am not 36 and still ove there music nice arrangements and very well produced there music is well polished . perfect . nice dubble bass nice . i do think radiohead has took some of there magic and some of there ideas also for sure

  • what album is this it says colour of spring but i have that album and this aint on it

  • It's on "Spirit of Eden" (a great album). ColourOfSpring is the handle of the person hosting the video.

  • thanks for that

  • I think It's really King Crimson's Islands inspired.. Wonderful song.

  • It's so very beautiful!!!

Mark Hollis is superb like this song!!!

  • Major props have to go to Tim Friese-Greene, co writer, producer, and keyboardist for helping to develop this sound. Absolutely Visionary.

  • I was already a big Talk Talk fan when this album came out and when I bought it I was very disappointed. However, it grew on me and soon became one of my favourite albums of all time. It still is to this day. Thank you for taking the trouble to post this.

  • @ickleian Yes, disappointing and as if a new sound. Unfortunatelly, this is not popular enough to alive the band.

  • @ickleian This was my first full Talk Talk album i've listened to. Man, I was very disappointed when I heard their previous albums. No, just joking. Great band, but I prefer their last two albums. Enjoy their music!

  • @ickleian I was the same although I think I got into it quicker than you, just two or three listens and I realised it was awesome. But I was and still am a huge fan of their early synth-oriented stuff too.

  • so beautifull

  • From one of the worlds under-rated but greatest albums.

  • que banda, fuera de Serie!!! sentimientos auténticos hechos música. Definitivamente no cualquiera hace esto.

  • so warm

  • the year was 1988... and then there was radiohead... eventually. 1988!

  • pure poetry...mr hollis you are a bloody magician!!!

  • In this cold world, you are my friend.

  • Class.
