Brothers In Arms is my favorite game series of all time end of story. It will probably take me years upon years to find one better if at all. I've enjoyed this series since playing RTH30 on Xbox for the very first time it was like feeling what war was truly like especially different from Call Of Duty's and Medal Of Honor's unrealistic kill-em-all-yourself kind of gameplay.

Legendary series. I played this game back when it first came out on my friend's xbox. I never bought it until I watched the movie Saving Private Ryan (great movie). After seeing the sniper in that movie it reminded me of the mission where you where sniping on top of a large tower. I bought Hell's Highway (great game also) on PS3 a while ago. Then, last night, I saw Steam had the entire series for $9.99. Now i'm reliving all of them. Best WW2 series out there, period.
Oh and btw I do have all the Soldiers Series... Lol
Just to brag and to let everyone who love the BIA series to try it as an alternative to realistic games.
And also to keep true to reality games (not arcade style games that looses touch of actual on the street combat realism) alive as Soldiers was not marketed properly and overlooked as a very very awesome WW2 game.
@crxdelsolsir I believe 'Soldiers" was one of the names Gearbox threw out during the conceptual stages of BIA. Alot of game companys then took those names and used them, also the title "Company of Heroes" is a BIA throw out.
Its like BIA (realistic tactics) but only from the top view (COH view) but with flexibility and ability to control and commandeer tanks and various equipment (Battlefield). It also extends realism as it has realistic physics and sqad dilemas (eg. more equip means tire easier) introduces not so famous but none the less extensively used weapons of WW2 (eg russian guns, tanks, weapons etc)
Soldiers series a must have for all BIA fans in my opinion.
@jKPieGuy CoD falls far short, its clearly a video game made for carefree, light hearted fun, with no realism or military detail. Brothers in Arms on the other hand has the title of "The Highest Rated WWII Action Franchise of All Time", its not just a game, its also a best selling novel, history channel documentary, education piece for history students, and is fully endorsed by the National D-Day Museum, Patton Museum Foundation, US Ordinance Museum, VFW, History channel, and West Point Academy.

@mikepalomino Yes the multiplayer is very well done in BIA, it puts up to 4 players online or splitscreen, 2 against 2, each player as a 3 man squad of AI team mates to give commands to, just like in single player, the gameplay is tactical, and realistic, replicating real life military fire and maneuver tactics, using suppression and flanking.
Earned in Blood and Hell's Highway are VERY well done, adding onto the storyline beautifully, all play off eachother, as a continuance of the prior.
@mikepalomino I HIGHLY recommend the sequals, its a chapterbook series, like Band of Brothers, or Back to the Future, you have to play all of them in order to understand the storyline. Hell's Highway is really a gem in itself, its practically an interacive movie (check out videos of it), its just a work of art. Its just too bad the gaming world wants cheaply made, run&gun arcade shoot em ups with no detail or depth, and thus BIA is often overlooked since its VERY deep, emotional and educational.

I actually own Hell's Highway already as I nabbed it off of GoGamer for like a dollar a while back but held off playing it because I wanted to play them in the proper order. Been wanting to snag a boxed version of Road to Hill 30 for a while now but it's rather rare oddly enough.
People needs to stop, BiA is a tactical shooter and CoD is a Shoot 'em up. They both are great and for all the gearbox fanboys War Heroes maybe Modern :(

It's funny actually paratroopers were some of the least decorated soldiers in WWII. Unless You count a Purple heart. Purple Hearts aren't decoration though they are more like a badge of office- infantry.

@halflifeman87 the battles and locations that you fight in do happen in history since most of it is based on after action reports that the 101st filed after combat. the characters themselves are fictious but i'm pretty sure alot of their personalities and actions are mix of the real soldiers who fought in those battles. also anyone ranked above lieutenant is a real historical person.
In my country this game could be renamed in spanish "Salvando al soldado Ryan" as the movie name in my country was called. At 1:39 you can see the computer made version of Tom Hanks! o_O !!! The actor of that movie. Well I think this game is based in that movie and also in the true story about that heroic actions. Awesome game! but as they say is rude! the warfare scenes are very real sometimes. I felt that I was there!

@halflifeman87 the battles and locations that you fight in do happen in history since most of it is based on after action reports that the 101st filed after combat. the characters themselves are fictious but i'm pretty sure alot of their personalities and actions are mix of the real soldiers who fought in those battles. also anyone ranked above lieutenant is a real historical person.

In my country this game could be renamed in spanish "Salvando al soldado Ryan" as the movie name in my country was called. At 1:39 you can see the computer made version of Tom Hanks! o_O !!! The actor of that movie. Well I think this game is based in that movie and also in the true story about that heroic actions. Awesome game! but as they say is rude! the warfare scenes are very real sometimes. I felt that I was there!

@FUCKJASLEN lol they don't try a real game, then try a pirated game, and it has to be somewhat new, especially if it uses fade like arma 2, you make think its bullet spread until having an invalid key (all are blacklisted that are pirated) until you turn into a pelican, and you obviously aren't a good driver if you can't spell good!
