  • They knew that hydrogen was flammable but they couldnt use helium because only United States made heluim and due to politacal problems

  • The future of the U.S. economy thanks to the Federal Reserve.

  • BOOM! HEADSHOT!!!

  • Peter: To the Hinden-Peter!

    BOOM!

    Joe: Oh My God!!!

Peter: Joe, i am So sorry!

Joe: How can you afford these things!

    XD Lol

  • Zeppelin: Best transportation in the world XD

  • fake

  • its like the skin melting away on a human

  • I'm gonna day

  • 德棍必看

  • People's fears and stupidity are the true cause of the Airship age's demise.

  • they thought because hydrogen was lighter than air they would fly safely, they didnt realise hydrogen was flammabbe

  • @MultiMorgyPorgy they knew that but the problem was that there weren´t any helium deposits in germany

  • As God is my witness, I thought zeppelins could fly.

  • omg!!!! that is so sad. but at the same time it melted everything away but the skeleton. but i wonder if there are any survivers?!?

  • @airportgirl12 quite a few survived ! More died on the R101 British airship (50) as opposed to the 35 that died in this disaster ! No footage of the R101's demise hence the hindenberg is more well known !

  • where the fuckin hell is the sound

  • I think it's so interesting that if u watch the fires it just eats away the skin of the zeppelin and leaves a scorch skeleton that crumpled to the ground

  • @ACalescentEnd The skin was treated with powdered aluminium to reflect sunlight and prevent overheating of the gas. (Today, powdered aluminium is used as solid rocket fuel—the shuttle's two outboard boosters). The manufacturers had conducted tests in the 30's and knew of the skin's combustibility and the fact that it was also electrically conductive. A static electric discharge between adjacent panels of Hindenburg's skin (after the electical storm) ignited the skin, which ignited the gas.

  • @BoilerRoom4 Ammonium Perchlorate Composite Propellant ( SRB fuel )

  • Pilot: ahh this is fun... Oopsees! BOOM!!

  • When something like this happens, there's always somebody to film it. It's been the same for 70 years. Some things don't change.

  • And a famous album cover was born

  • i think it was the fuel they used that made it go up

  • lol my dad was on that

  • @MrJavin101

    troll

  • motherfucking hindenburg by his fault we cant use zeepelins as transports fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • The last words of the pliots: "What the fuck!!?"

  • GET THE WATER NIGGUH!!! ITS GOIN DOWN!!!

  • Sabotage again...The war machine profiteers will do anything to make money.

We just sent a huge amount of troops to Korea. I guess when employment is low, rather than do good things with money (socialism) you use it to make war profits (capitalism).

  • @marinello6 moron.

  • @ebturner66 I see you speak German. If you had German born family in the U.S. at this time, you would respond quite differently. After all of your education and time in the military, is this how you address someone? Is that not moronic? Every person that I have known with a jingoistic attitude about the U.S., has had no clue of the total picture of conflict. How could they. If someone believes or knows something that they do not, they simply call the person a "moron." Military Contracts!

  • @marinello6 Good points regarding me calling you a "moron." I sure shouldn't have. It was juvenile of me. My apologies & thanks. My argument with your original statement deals with a generalized concept of socialism vs. capitalism. Automatically asserting that capitalism will always seek the bad while socialism will always seek the good. Somewhat overly simplistic wouldn't you say? Both have their good & their bad. To believe otherwise is...silly. The character limit restricts proper debate.

  • @marinello6 But bottom line? Please accept my apologies for calling you something so juvenile.

  • @ebturner66 Thanks...always re-evaluate new information or different information. We all get stuck in steadfast views but people need to revisit and look to new places for hidden old explanations or new ones.. Good Guy-Bad Guy, Cowboy and Indian,

these are for the minds of children and the dogmatic.

  • @marinello6 ,

Actually the hindenburg was destroyed because a weakened cable snapped inside the envelope and set the hydrogen alight

  • @21Trainman I have learned to not trust official reports althought what you say could be true.

  • Someone needs to teach me the science behind this. I'm dumb when it comes to science so no insults please. But how do they come off a stairwell, how does the inside hold cabins, windows, etc. and keep all that gas in to float? And what was the outside made of?

  • Imagine if they never had that accident...would zepplins still be around??

  • Oh My God, they killed kenny... YOU BASTARD!

  • Thats cleary a terrorist act. You can actually see the explosives and it is of course not possible that Steel/Alluminium melts away like this. Inside Job!

    ;)

  • Did everyone see the flag on that airship???

  • @ 4:14 "Rescuers rushed into this mass of twisted white hot steel".

It was well known back then the Hindenburgs framework was aluminum.

  • @OtakuWulf actually, it's like this. the north (where i live) is full of rich prep kids and koreans, the middle is all rednecks, and the south is guidos.

  • As hard as it must be for hydrogen & air to mix(like oil & water only more so) the inferno that results from the little that does speaks volumes for hydrogen's power at what must be a rich mixture. Fluids of different densities presumably have trouble mixing. A stoiciometric explosion would be even more awesome.

  • @niflap oil and water don't mix because of competitive exclusion, ie. hydrogen bonds between the oxygen of one water molecule and the hydrogen of another. Oil is pushed out of the way by all the water trying to be close to itself, gravity has nothing to do with it apart from pushing the oil formations to the top.

oxygen will happily mix with hydrogen in space, though the explosion wouldn't be all that great, it'd just be a very short flash, as molecules of water are hurled outwards very fast.

  • It's a terrorist attack carried out by jews!!!!

  • LOL @ them using Hydrogen.

  • to see something like that flying over the skies of New York City today would be a truly incredible experience

  • Awesome vid... Top quality... Thanx Airboyd !!

  • Great footage of the Hindenburg.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • this is absolutely amazing footage.

  • hey look a hurricane

  • nice propaganda video. zeppelin full of crew. hitler stupid. plane industrie wins. the important scene of the videos are fail. tesala was in this city. tesla towers + light flame-able colors. jaja tesla dead. zeppelin will come back! fu*k chamtrails

  • @kleinesp0wny Germany plane aircraft industries invented reaction motor, jet and made possible go to moon...this was an accident due to the embarg of helium...

  • @marinicallcc Germany didn't invent the jet engine.

  • @Bubo25 They invented "a" jet engine

  • @Bubo25 yes they did you racist

  • @marinicallcc wasnt it hydrogen they used not helium

  • @djscottdog1 Reading your reply i suppose that you don't understand what has been wrote....please read again..

  • @djscottdog1 yes, and for 2 main reasons. First, the US was, at that time (and still is, I believe), the only KNOWN source of helium in the world. Second, for FDR to sell helium to Hitler's Germany, he would've needed permission from Congress and they weren't going to give it to him. FDR didn't want to sell it anyway because neither he nor Congress trusted Hitler as far as his using it peacefully. It probably wouldn't havre mattered; the zepplin was obsolete as a weapon or war by then. Thanx

  • i swear if that was flying over the city now... people would hit their bunkers..thinking it to be a large rocket!

  • it's wonderful to look at the disaster listening to communication breakdown of led zeppelin...

  • THE TRAVELERS COULD OF STOPPED THIS BUT THEY LET WINN FARROW BLOW IT UP TO SAVE THE HUMAN RACE ON THE 3 TERRITORYS OF EARTH LOL

  • Winn Farrow.. 'nuff said.

  • Too bad the pioneer spirit of the Hindenburg did not go on. It was pretty much the death knell of commercial airship travel.

  • haha someone got pissed on at 1:05

  • why is it that so many people like the destruction of the Hindenburg ? like legit , 35 people died.

  • OH THE HUGE MANATEE!

  • It lacks something without Herb Morrison's commentary.

  • FANTÁSTICO DOCUMENTO!!! FABULOSO REGISTRO!!!

  • Americans discovered Hliom 1-2 years before and they want to sell it to Germans cause it was 10 times more expencive. The Hindenburg use hydrogen, so it is easy to think why this hapen XD

  • They often flew with inert versions of the hydrogen, but the US insisted on the flammable gases being used under advise from the US aviations industry.

  • how fuckin old r u ennywayzz?

  • at 1:41 you can see mavbe the akron or the macon?

  • if there was no fire allowed on their how did they cook the food?

  • Although it was officially declared to have been an electrostatic discharge, the idea of The Hindenburg being destroyed by an anti-fascist bomb (see also the 1975 motion picture) is the most agreeable cause amongst most anti-Nazis and their descendants.

  • Not to be cold hearted or something, but the flames were pretty cool.

  • They used hydrogen... not helium xD

  • I have this on 16mm.... I wish I could find out its value.

  • I like how there is no sound...Jerk

  • dont hate on nj not their fault it exploded in their state fag

  • It was the the flammable fabric and bad construction, not so much the hydrogen - thumbs up if you realize this and want the glorious airships back!

  • @Realpra they were glorious no doubt about that but why travel in a gigantic bomb balloon. i mean i bet on a stormy day this thing would be blown away. its great to look at but some things are better left the way they are. plus there is no way that flight would be a smoking flight for a change so..??:P

  • @Realpra Bad construction? You wanna retract that statement? The Hindenburg was made by the Germans, who revolutionized the zeppelins. Bad construction, don't spit in their faces like that. Yeah the skin was flammable, but the hydrogen did play a key role in the "explosion".

  • R.I.P. to those who died

herd round the world means everyone knew about it for those of u who dont get it everyone around the world cant hear the explosion like the shot herd round the world when the british and the 13 colonies wer fighting som1 shot a gun and it was known as the shot herd round the world everyone knew about it

  • what's wrong with new jersy

  • @Superchickenman159 What isn't wrong with New Jersey?

  • So? That's irrelivant. Ur mocking them. Not cool. OK, I admit, New Jersy is bad, but, dude, say that somewhere else. Please.

  • I notice that they neglected to show, ONCE AGAIN, what hit the Hindenburg. I've been trying to see what hit it, in one footage, there was a little... I dunno, thing, about as big as a bird but without wings that sailed either into it or away from it - the footage was from almost below it. Problem was, I can't tell which, because it might have been a bag of sand. Tragic, though.

  • @NobodyDaGreekOne they weren't recording the Zeppelin until after it ignited, some think it was static electricity that set off the helium, others a faulty engine (which I think may be it, I seen another video on here, when the Hindenburg went to moor, only 3 engines were active, one of the inner engines was still) though I don't think the true cause of this behemoth's demise will be known :/

  • @NobodyDaGreekOne

Where do you find the footage your talking about? (The bird thing)

  • 04:14

Twisted white hot steel? Hehe... it was duraluminium. Very enlightening report!

  • @notgodsemigod Just the news trying to attract viewers.

  • ...lol?...

  • is schon krass was damals passiert ist. :-(

  • Jaja heute sind alle informiert wegen RTL :D

  • Warum Sprecht hier jeder English

  • War schon ein stolzes und prächtiges Luftschiff

  • stop at 0:59

whats wrong with the other motor on the left site?

  • @Marcel3540 was :D?

  • @GreenVanillasTV

wieso ist dieser hintere rotor aus ? xD

  • @Marcel3540 Keiner weißes :D Einfach so xD

  • @Marcel3540 weil es sich drehen wollte und wenn alle rotoren an sind, kann sich ein luftschiff nicht drehen

  • @Marcel3540 They are used to stear with, slowing it down on the left side will make it turn to the left...

  • @Marcel3540 if they wanted to turn right, my guess is they lower an engine's power, or in this case most probably, shut it down completely

  • @Marcel3540 she was trying to make a sharp turn to starboard. As a result Pruss ordered the starboard engines to reduce power so the port engines could help complete the turn. Of course, this manoeuvre snapped at least one bracing wire, rupturing a gas cell, releasing the hydrogen which provided fuel for the fire when a static shock contacted the ship.

  • @Marcel3540 It stopped spinning before the others did, duh.

  • @Marcel3540 It's turning.

  • @Marcel3540

Often times engines would be slowed or stopped for minor course correction instead of using the massive rudders

Sometimes they'd only run on 3 engines in general - sometimes on 2 - ect

  • @XxWoofdog21xX Actually, Hindenburg was filled with hydrogen whitch is very flammable. Helium, for the manure of fact, is not at all.

  • @TheMXstudios "manure of fact" Typo of the year.

  • @TheMXstudios "manure of fact" Typo of the year.

  • how did anyone survive that???

  • @TheFrysedisk I think they got more luck then everyone ever gets....As I seen those Picture I can´t believe anyone survived...but 'only' about 30 from 97 Passengers died...thats! Incredible oO

  • scariest thing ever. its even scarier than any scary movie ever made. scary.

due to this blimp, i NEVER like blimps. i am afraid of each one blowing up.

  • GREAT FOOTAGE OF A TRAGIC MOMENT!!!!!!!!!

  • The zeppelin to New York has just arrived.

  • @0:38 it really looks like a giant bomb floating in the sky...

  • i need tu do diis 4 my hmewrk but ii dnt knw wat tuu wriite

  • @3ebd1 ummm do i care u kuthi !!!!!!!!

  • @458jls If you really needed help with your homework, wouldn't you stop using slang if you saw that everyone who responded to your comment hated slang? I don't mean to offend you or anything, but maybe you should try being a bit more civil towards the people who could potentially have done all of your homework via e-mail.

  • Chipmunk , it's called an airplane, Cool video

  • HINDENBURG CAPT: We have successfully landed in New York.

    RANDOM VOICE: Incoming Missile!

    There were no survivors.

  • I wonder how they got shots above it when it was in the air. I know helicopters were around but they were experimental and not used in cities.

  • i havent seen one video that shows it starting all the videos start after it explodes

  • pause 0:56 look under it what is that????

  • @caslnor moon i think !

  • hydrogen balloon + electrostatic = kabooom

  • An engineering marvel - and completely ludicrous for passenger air travel. Look at the machinations to land and moor that behemoth!

  • This was a perfect combination for tragedy.

  • a big whale flying in the sky

  • Discourse of power

  • weren't these bombers or something?

  • @BLANKMEMORYDATA other zepellins were bombers which also used hidrogen which burnt easily and was flammable.

  • There was actually to much pressure in the balloon part, then the fire started after the fuel came out.

  • GAY PPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this was 4 years b4 world war II

  • @toontownrox50

    2 years dummy!

  • So all of you are saying that just because you think I'm not a survivor, means that I'm automatically not a survivor? Haha.

  • @multicorncake , we all agree, your dead.

  • OH THE HUMANITY, the announcer cracked me up.

  • @aislinnsexkitten18 I agree with you that multicorncake is being a dumbfuck and definitely is just trolling, but you should know that more than half of the people and almost 2/3 of the crew on the Hindenburg survived...just making sure you have correct facts

  • @guitarguru1191 You are actually more ignorant than me. "l0l tr0ll u were nut 0n the hind3nbrg r0fl". You make yourself sound like an immature kindergardener.

  • @multicorncake I don't even know how to respond to this...do you even know what the word ignorant means? uneducated, lacking knowledge, and the such...i know my facts...you, on the other hand, are a little boy who gets excitement out of starting youtube arguments...you do not know your facts...you were not on the hindenburg. nice videos on your channel by the way! I can tell you're a fatass by your video on "How to make a homemade gun"...I don't think somone who's almost 100 would do that

  • @guitarguru1191 "fatass". Nononono. Thats my grandson who uses the same channel. Thank you for the complement.

  • It's horrible !!! A very good video but... You can put music on the video !

  • oh the humanity!

  • lol, even in the old times there was copyright, boo!!!!

    Thumbs up if you agree

  • i bet that was funny :D

  • Oh The Humanity!

  • Well done.

  • im sorry to all the people on the hindenburg, not only did you die... you died in new jersey

  • @RLhockey203 that's tragic indeed.

  • @RLhockey203 whats wrong with New Jersey?
