Hes a typical Paki elite.....fled the country in his teens...Daddy paid for his escape..and also for Oxford tuition...and then NEVER WENT BACK!...He loves to comment on what America is doing...and is least concerned about whats going on in his own motherland. In 70s, as his countries split into two,....this moron was busy smoking the peace pipe with John Lenon..and criticizing US for Vietnam...LOL
@aniketranade In the 70s Tariq was in then East Pakistan. He was covering the war from ground and interviewed Bengali fighters. This 'moron' was not busy smoking the peace pipe with John Lenon and criticizing US for Vietnam sitting in his comfy home in UK.
And if you want to know what view he holds bout Pakistan you can read his book - 'The duel'. U can get it from Flipkart. There are also many videos on Youtube.
@gqptyu More than 4000 people have been killed in Karachi City alone in less than 3 years......on streets...in sectarian violence...its definitely one of the most dangerous cities. But If you see videos on Youtube....you will find lots of them with Tariq making a big stink about....guess what??....Israelis killing 9 people on the freedom flotilla!...Im sure Tariq will find time to talk about Karachi if somehow America can be connected to the absolute Carnage on the streets....
@aniketranade Well certainly I don't think the West is responsible for every single thing that goes wrong in the third world. But Tariq here is refering to state attrocities. US action in Iraq has resulted in the death of hundred thousands of people. That is not a trivial number. Think about it.
@aniketranade True, sectarian violence happens in Karachi. But the reason it happens is because people there are desparately poor, craving for space. Without a peaceful democratic channel to express their concerns, they don't know what else to do. Out of the last 60 years, Pakistan was ruled by autocrats for nearly 40 years who trampled Bengalis, Balochs & Muhajirs with all its might. Who supported these men? US. So yes, US is indirectly connected.

@gqptyu Wow!...He went to East Pakistan and interviewed a few fighter....I guess that absolves him!....
Let think what he did about the vietnam War....he took a tour of the war ravaged nation with a panel to press charges of war crimes against US.......I guess the atrocities committed against the Bengali people by the Pakistan army didnt quite cut it for Tariq!...
I have nothing against him but lets face it....hes obsessed with what America does around the World....and very little else...
