very good video, i took some of several tornadoes and this was probably one of them, although the tornado i saw over odell was way bigger than this. there were so many coming down though that it was easy to miss a few.
It was all the same tornado but it had multiple vortexes!!! I saw it pass over Morris about 3pm that day! I thought for sure we were going to get hit but it blew over us! It was huge and scary and reminded me of the Plainfield tornado in 1990! It went 15 miles south of us and hit Wilmington, Odell, knocked over hight tension towers on I-57 and then went back NE and hit suburbs of Chicago!! Had it stayed on the ground, it would have been devastating! It was classified as an EF5 !
very good video . . I was mesmerized! I live in Morris and it went over us from north to south about 3pm. I was watching it for a long time and knew someone was going to get hit.
After it blew over us in Morris, the temp dropped 10 degrees in a matter of minutes! I think we got the back winds from it. Had it stayed on the ground, it could easily have turned into an F4! Had all the makings of the Plainfield tornado from 1990. It came from the north too.
you know ive noticed that alot of people are no longer running for protection when there is a tornado they are running for their video cameras. just an observation,
beautiful country, farming community?respect mother nature, many people have lost there lives by not using common sense, thanks for the video, and please hold the camera still.
Thanks for doing a nado video without the constant stupid comments I'm used to hearing that take away from the actual video. Next time use your girlfriends head as a tripod
i live in mundelein and i had to run home when the siren was going off and a tornado was forming right behind my house and that is one that touched down! it was kindaa scary lol im just 14!
I was looking at the radar on My PC and listiening to the weather radio. The storm was about 3 towns south of were I live. It was scary be that close to a tornado.
Plus I had the weather radio up and running, on battery power.
great video! I was about to leave chicago on the night of the 7th but my parents called and told me not to leave until it passes over. Recently someone told me that a tornade touched down on I-57. If i went I would've been right in the middle of it. Guess I'll have to wait till morning daylight
This is great! I live in Odell and was forced to leave town(I have no basement...lol) and go into Pontiac. I was on Rt.66 and got a pic. of when it was first touching down. And took another went it went back up. It was pretty freaky but, I'm glad that noone got hurt. Awesome footage! Thank you for showing what I missed out on!
I live in Ottawa, down in LaSalle County, and we never get this type of weather. It always seems to pass us on by. Of course, that's probably a blessing, but I won't deny that I find severe weather pretty fascinating,
