I was so saddened by this horrific event. Matt Lauer in his interview of the two male students who witnessed the shooting, brought up an excellent point. THE FACT THAT MOST CLASSROOMS ONLY HAVE ONE ENTRY AND EXIT MAKING IT VERY EASY FOR A GUNMAN TO CONTROL THE ROOM AND DO ALOT DAMAGE IN VERY LITTLE TIME. they should pass legislature which requires an exit door every maybe 10 feet for example with a minimum of maybe four exits per classroom.

Someone can get a gun illegally in any country in the world. These things aren't about guns they are about culture. There are aspects of the US culture that make these situations happen more often than in other countries. The fact that the American media can't even name one true reason is just one indication of why these shootings occur in the US.

Understand this. By the time I was 3 years old, I knew how to shoot a bolt action .22. By the time I was 8, I had already shot an AR-15, and an SKS. By the time I was 10 I was competeing in Olympic match style .22. For my 18th birthday, I bought a mini-14. My 21st, a Sig P220 .45 pistol, and some weekend when I am not working I plan on completing my CHL training.
I was taught a firearm is ALWAYS loaded, even when its not. I have never once thought of killing anyone.

Nothing could have been done to prevent this killing. Even if gun laws were relaxed and the students were armed he would have killed a few people anyway. The problem is with the social decay in America. We are completely headed in the wrong direction. Prior to the "i need to find myself" bullshit of the 20th century people were married, had kids, and owned their own home by age 22 because of a strong job market and strong dollar. 1. There is no Conceal and Carry program in Illinois. It is illegal.
2. All hand gun owners must have a license, the shooter did.
3. There is a 72hour waiting period. What did that do?
4. There is a required background check, even at gun shows. According to the ATF...the shooter was OK!
5. Once again, like VT, like LTC, like the city councel shootings in Missouri. The NIU shooter was in a gun free zone.

I was so saddened by this horrific event. Matt Lauer in his interview of the two male students who witnessed the shooting, brought up an excellent point. THE FACT THAT MOST CLASSROOMS ONLY HAVE ONE ENTRY AND EXIT MAKING IT VERY EASY FOR A GUNMAN TO CONTROL THE ROOM AND DO ALOT DAMAGE IN VERY LITTLE TIME. they should pass legislature which requires an exit door every maybe 10 feet for example with a minimum of maybe four exits per classroom.

I go to this school and I just want people to be aware the counseling usually takes 3 months to get into if you don't sign up at the right time. Additionally, they had a threat last December, and ALL they did was shut down campus for a day. I fully agree we need guns for self defense. Had I been there, (and I AM an NIU student), I would have definitely shot the bastard had I the right to bear arms. Vote judiciously!

Well I was reading a the report and its says that this is the 5 gun shooting at schools THIS WEEK!! Now how come I havent herd any of those? And I cant go to school with out my cell phone on anymore. The first week of school there was a kid who arrived with a knife a hitlist. Just guess what happened to him... NOTHING!!! Im afraid of what this country is turning into. Like I always say... Someone can get a gun illegally in any country in the world. These things aren't about guns they are about culture. There are aspects of the US culture that make these situations happen more often than in other countries. I was simply disputing that one's color doesn't dictate criminal behavior by giving an example wherein a shooter in a situation like this wasn't white. And that's a pretty weak argument considering you only mention presidents who have been shot. What about common folk who get shot by people of all races every day? Do they not count?
