Just occured to me, all the animated characters in Gorillaz videos have facial features that are reminiscent of monkeys and chimpanzees. Even the guy with the potato nose (Murdoc is his name I think) looks like a proboscis monkey. Is this just coincidental, or intentional to go along with the name Gorillaz? Anyone know for sure?

@mdl4040 The voices and instruments are all real. Think of it like a Mickey Mouse cartoon; the only thing animated is the visuals. In their live acts, there is a band playing behind the curtain.

@mdl4040 I believe they all go under the names of the animated people, 2D for vocals, Noodle for guitar, Murdoc for bass and Russell for drums. 2D is Damon Albarn, the co-creator of the band. Not sure who the rest are.
