20 years later, the so called next gen consoles still can't make racing games this fuckin fast and the music just shits all over any gaming music of today. You can name only a few decent songs of today with one hand but the Amiga you need a billion hands. To think Amiga music was only on a couple of audio channels, these days we have digital studios with limitless possibilities yet the impossible was already done by the Amiga.

Gaming machines should just die and bring back the Amiga.

My favourite racing game, ever. I seem to remember a strange bug where if you steered straight off the track right at the start of a race, the music played twice as fast.

Oh yeah, I remember the cheat codes too: Player 1s name should be "In A Big Country". Player 2 is "Fields Of Fire".

Why do I remember this stuff???

Lotus 1 was the best because sequels had not good animation. More effects but less smooth...Only music was improved in each sequel.

It was sooo much fun to play this with your best friend. Crashing your car was kinda frustrating but hilariously funny when it happened to your buddy.

A great feature was that only one player needed to be among the first ten places to advance both players to the next level. Great stuff!

This is my all time favourite Amiga game. Finished it again the other day with 230 points. I think the in game music on Lotus 1 is the best on any of the lotus games, although my favourite lotus music is the intro on Lotus II. This game is THE best of the lotus series and the best driving game on the amiga!!! My next favourites were Super Cars II Crazy Cars III. Superb!!!

I think this game is better than Lotus Turbo II The drivingfeeling is way better and the movements is more smooth and realistic. You can almost feel the car against the road!. And you feel when the car change gear. I did never play Lotus Turbo II as much as this game.

I always loved the old Lotus games, the tracks were perfect for the cars, tight turns, and long straights! The turns were perfect to show off the handling properties that Colin worked so hard on!

The game is very slick considering the Amiga can't do sprite scaling. Why is only half the screen being used though? Music should have been better, this ain't the ST!

The bottom screen was for if there was a two player game; both players could see their car at the same time. I don't know why they didn't use the full height for 1-player games though.

I thought back in the day, that the synthesised electric guitar was annoying and the soundtrack on a whole was repetative. They should have done away with the snide 8 bit mono samples and just concentrated on realistic sound effects.

The main problem was you couldnt change music tracks inbetween races. So that one track for the whole game gets old fast

I did add the original tracks in the game. I forget which races. Maybe the first few then the new tracks from lotus III and other games are added.
