  • 1:08 OH SHIT! They're recording!!

  • they need a new guy at the booth

  • Troll a 1.04

  • @thenewzealandkiwi lol oh ye i noticed now its really funny

  • MIDI misery

MIDI compatibility was one of the main features we thought would improve the Kaossilator, so the arrival of MIDI ports on the Pro got us seriously excited. Unfortunately, it doesn't support standard note data. The X-Y coordinates are instead sent and received as CC values, meaning that if you want to play the internal synth instruments using a MIDI controller or DAW you'll need to find a way of converting notes to CC.

  • why he have 2 microphones

  • Just got one of these for christmas and it's actually so much fun to just mess around with :D

  • @Iulzwhat

Hi My Name is Frank . I want to buy one but can u add music from your computer and mix it and save it in your computer? since you have 1 do you have it with hook up with your computer?

  • crap video was crap

  • @ The Guys, who want to test it :

Your own fault, if u dont buy it ! Thats what i can say to my experience with my KOPRO (Bought it in March 2010 )

  • smooth demo korg! i gotta get me one of dem k-pads!

  • Guy with the snapple or whatever with bad timing walks in and out at 1:04 - 1:08 thats hilarious!

  • @Wiivified hahaha how did I miss that the first time??? I keep watching it hahaha

  • @Wiivified hahahaha i see it. perfect timing

  • the random guy walking in at 1:08 was the best part of this vid..

  • @christopherxoxo He's like: "breaks over, back to the booth... OH sh*t theyre filming here"

  • @yoshisuniverse The KP3 is more of a sampler and effects processor, while the Kopro is a Dynamic Phrase Syntesizer and a Loop recorder.

i got em' both, and together they just keep on making kaoss.

  • demo sucks!!

  • OK ,So i just got one of theese...Well. First impressions (After a few days)...Dissapointing & overpriced.

All the utube vids make it look much better than it is...Beware !

I mean, its a great axtra for a studio or dj toy but honestly, really not worth the money..Period !

  • @NuclearLullaby Nothing wrong with it at all! I love the screen on my KP1, I just got a new keyboard and was wondering if I could use them together. I'm broke anyways so I guess it doesn't matter... oh well :)

  • It's funny how feeble he is........ muahahahahaha

  • I can plug in my keyboard through MIDI and use this as a synth, right? Or am I stuck with the touch screen?

  • @PlasticSpoonVideos what's so wrong with the touch screen??? That's actually one thing I love about these!!!

  • @kevyjoe123 See a detailed review on my page! Discussion and several demo tracks made from scratch.

  • I have the Kaossilator and lack of midi really feels it.

  • it's like a Kaossilator and a KP3 hooked up and had a baby...cool cool. looking forward to testing one of these out sometime.

  • I Agree 100% ! This presentation is shit! My iphone is better! :)

  • is it still better to have a KP3 and a Kaossilator?

  • It seems that it will cost a little bit less than Electribe but sounds a lot more cheaper. As a controller - great device but still very expensive. As a music instrument / dj gear - it won't work for me.

  • can you do midi in to use a midi keyboard to control the synth sounds built into it? that would make me buy it if it could.

  • damn my birthday is approaching... but i cant decide if should get the kaossilator pro or the roland sp-404sx???

  • i dont like it. the first kaossilator was so simple, practically pocket sized, and was all you ever needed. but i suppose this one will be better for more serious electronic musicians

  • 1:20 sounds like bat for lashes - pearl's dream

  • This guy cannot make a decent tune if his life depended on it!

I was expecting a better demo from a brand like Korg... I could make a better demo on a Juno! This is just really sad

  • QUESTION: Can you also unlimitedly overdub signals coming from a line source or a microphone on a particular bank? Cause all they overdub are the kaossilator sounds... Thanks in advance for answering.

  • @pheecoy Yes, each memory bank ca be unlimitedly overdubbed, using ANY source of audio. Though considering ou now have four banks to dub onto, unlimited use on any one of them would be a streats unless you have maybe two or three units, using one of them to hold four full beats and using the others to hold separate sections for a full live setup. but yes, from voice overs to using a keyboard synth or a guitar you can keep overdubbing all you want. DISCLAMER: more overdubs does not mean better.

  • Thanks for the quick repsonse SwordMasamune... So this is quite a step up from the KP3 in terms of looping then. Four banks on the KP3 has always been lacking... now it's just a matter of choosing whether i'll get the KaossPro or another KP3 to pair wtih my KP3.

  • Well If I had a KP3, I'd go with a kaossilator pro to go with it, and make sure to run the K-Pro, through the KP3 so that you can use the effects of the KP3 on the output of the K-Pro. (also just because I wouldnt want to have too much repeated gear on my setup. (mind you right now I think when I get the money my setup will be 2 DS's with Korg DS-10 a KP3, and a K-pro, and a normal kaossilator as well as a mini kp. (since I'll start with the lower priced stuff first)

  • 1:18 how gay was that, i mean, really

  • Toy for kiddies.

  • This is great....if your Bruno!

  • yes but to have 4 loops independent of eachother it makes it way better to use in a live real time situation... i think its a great improvement..but yeah the guys music sucks but hes just a salesman...

  • This looks like such an unbelievable piece of shit. And the guy playing, for fucks sake... I mean come on.

  • Gay-ossillator.....

  • Not very convinced ... I have the simple yellow kaossilaor and it makes better music than this demo... ????

  • @CrossAngelProject

yeah but he wasnt trying to sounf it was more like to explain but yeah we will have to wait the first kaossilator still has lot of miles

  • If they got better product specialists in who could actually use the equipment maybe it wouldn't be so crap

  • i agree this is very bad i`ve seen several video`s with this guy on the kaossilator pro and he keeps on using the same lame drumloop and mutch the of the same sounds (helllooo there are 200 in there !!!) and he uses (has??) no creativity at all

Too bad this could be a lot better

  • £355.00!!??!! or nearly $600.00!!??!!

    :'-(

At that price, this is not a true successor to the wonderful KO1.

My KO1 cost me £100.00 which almost puts it in the 'impulse buy' bracket. And yes, I understand that all those extra features come at a cost and can't possibly fit in the KO1 chassis.

Here's hoping they haven't ditched working on a truly portable standalone synth like the KO1, but better.

  • @soulsonicfarce WRONG! The right price is $395

  • Fair enough, I stand corrected. I guess it's more expensive in the UK at the moment because of import duty or whatever.

I just googled it quickly and £355.00 was the UK price that came up, then I did conversion to US$.

  • I see, that sucks. Here on Brazil those "toys" are dirty expensive too.

  • I'd have one, but what a pity it's lost the abilty to go anywhere with you- on the plane, the train or out for a walk. That's one of the things I loved about the KO-1, just plug in headphones and batteries and you've got a synth that you can literally play anywhere.

Bet you're looking at twice the cost or more of the KO-1 too, which is also a shame.

  • neat idea, but its kinda lost its flavor D:

  • WHY NOT SEND MIDI NOTES??? I CAN'T UNDERSTAND... I thought korg is about more than taking a bigger case...

  • There's MIDI I/O in the back. Probably didn't have time to set it up, or didn't want to focus on that for the introduction/announcement. Maybe in later demos in other shows.

  • It would be nice if we could actually HEAR the demo. What's up, soundonsound? Wouldn't they let you jack in?

  • I wish my Kp3 has blue square lights! I am getting bored of red:(

  • this feels like a real slap to the face! i love the original ko-1 but this peice of crap is more like a KP3 - which sucks s**t, and i would know, as i used to own one.... seems to me korg got lazy.

when people asked you for midi, they weren't asking for CC, they were asking you for midi-notes! recording midi notes, hooked up to a computer or to be able to save the data...

    not a repackaged kp3!!!

i am horribly dis-appointed and WONT be buying this peice of junk! you just lost a customer KORG!

  • Dont seem to say anything about this still being battery-driven - others picked up on anything?

Also no word if there's any changes to the actual sound-engine in terms of new sounds or similar...?

Still it's a highly interesting piece of kit. The multiple layers and storage feature really was what the old unit was missing. It's complete production in a box now.

Cant wait to try this out and see how it is in terms of userfriendliness and pure production-value...

  • obviously, it is NOT battery driven, it is essentially a KP3 repackaged with a new OS to be more like a kaossilator...

  • I don't get it, why they didn't integrate a melodic step sequencer like the one novations launchpad has now after the Max-for-Live update.

Actually the Kaossilator Pro has all the requirements for it (steps in the display -> horizontal AND vertical)!! And then combined with midi it would be a mind-blowing tool.

Would like to have a melodic step sequencer in the hardware, which is as well usable for midi-triggering.

What do you think about this idea?

  • @schwedischpunk1 - good idea, I think so too

  • it's a great idea, but korg dropped the ball!

  • Cool box. bad video. But when he mentioned Star Trek, I WAS SOLD!

  • Wow, its basically a KP3 still. They didn't add any note worthy features.

  • well, the KO had MANY more synth sounds than the KP3, so that's something. The KP and KO are definitely different machines

    See my recent videos -

    one using the KO1 & KP3 together,

(which this unit may turn out to be like.)

one with FIVE different Kaoss pads and 3 DS10!

  • i agree , and i feel insulted that this is supposed to be the "pro" model, what a joke. the KO-1 is a way better music tool. and the kp3 was a sheer disappointment much like this crunk!

  • How the hell can you say the original is better, before the Pro has even been released?

Save your judgement until after you've actually tried one in direct comparison.

  • @groovindj the only way the original is better is that it's more portable and runs on batteries. In all other ways, the KO is TRUELY PRO, just great! see my video

  • @groovindj i bought the original when it first came out and trust me...this WILL be heaps better...wtf can you do without midi sync? anyway this looks much better imo

  • just when I thought I had figured out what I my gear set...
