so evolution isnt science as it cant be observed or tested thats the scientific definition its not science dawkins wasnt around millions of years ago footprints = people summise what has happened its not fact
richard negates the fact that there is a alternative force ie satan who tempts man and stops them leading a life as god would want he cant just forgive although he does as satan gets in the way
Wow, well that was so cringeworthy, the old man clearly hadn't 'evolved' very much, mentally speaking. Dawkins should have gutted Christianity abit more and pressed on.
At 1:19 it is interesting that it is Dawkins who changed the subject and asked for questions. I think he was embarrassed - it was clear that the interviewer couldn't justify his own beliefs, he really couldn't give a coherent explanation as to why Jesus had to die on the cross. I think he had been so nice, polite and gentle that Dawkins didn't want the guy to make himself look any more naive than he did...
This was an excellent interview. The interviewer was a caricature of a believer, I almost felt sorry for him, the poor deluded fool. I think it would take a powerful hallucinogenic to convince him that his “experiences” are self-made. Richard was very patient and polite even though he knew he was conversing with a lunatic. Obviously neither was going to give an inch to the other, but this is a good example of how civilized people behave.
The real miracle is that we are here, now, and have the opportunity to contribute to a thing thing that easily might never have happened. Dismiss these fairy tales. Live a good life, be the best that you can be and help those you find along your journey. Go to your grave with no regrets.
Problem with Richard. Wonderful writer, but lousy debater. Take the burglar and judge analogy used by the xtian Obvious response? "he's not being charged with a crime HE committed, but one by his great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather. wonderful justice.
@d3st88 Fair point. perhaps the word 'lousy' is a bit unfair, but we frequently see that extremely clever and well-informed scientists do not have the debating skills (why should they/) of the likes of WLC and other creatards. The public are easily fooled by rhetoric, alas.
Consider the background of a group of esoteric initiates who merged into the Royal Society. They called themselves the Lunar Society because they met on the night of the full Moon. Among its members was Benjamin Franklin, the high level Freemason, Rosicrucian, and closely connected to the Freemasons behind the French Revolution. Other Lunar Society members were Erasmus Darwin, the grandfather of Charles Darwin, the man who would be used to promote the belief in this bogus science.
Dr Arthur David Horn, a former professor of biological anthropology at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, once believed emphatically in the Darwinist version of human evolution. Purely on the weight of evidence and his own experience, he is now convinced that humanity was seeded by extraterrestrials and that a reptilian race has controlled the planet for thousands of years and continues to do so today.
Fuck Dawkins, the liar. The famed British astrophysicist, Fred Hoyle, told a London press conference as long ago as 1971 that the world was controlled by a force which could manifest in many forms. “They are everywhere,” he told astonished journalists, “in the sky, in the sea and on the Earth...” He said that ‘they’ controlled humanity through the mind.
"The whole beauty of evolution is that it explains how you start with simplicity and work up to complexity, to the illusion of design!" Now that's how you close a show.

I think Dawkins did a good job of presenting evolution however he did a bad job of showing the ugly side of christianity and original sin IMO.

I think he could've done better, yes, but I wouldn't call him lousy.
Also consider that he had a time limit and he was live on a programme.
