  • How long did it take to germinate? i just started one a couple weeks ago but no sign of sprouting yet.

  • @GardenNewbie I had to wait a while, something like 2 months. just make sure that you burried it on its side, keep it moist - not water logged (they germinate much quicker if they are constantly moist, and will still like constant humidity when theybecome older). I started it in December and it began to grow in febuary/march. Often the roots will have grown for a couple weeks BEFORE there is any spouts coming above the surface. If you look at some of my earlier posts you can see what i mean.

  • they can grow fine as long as its not too cold so a greenhouse or indoors in the winter next to the window will do.

  • What country is this? Will they grow in places where it gets cold in the winter??

  • @Illchangeitlater it's Canada, scarborough, i put them in the sunniest place in my house (southern facing window), but i started too many plants, ran out of space to store them, and had to sacrifice them. If anything take from this video that tropical plants will grow in a zone 6, but becoming a hoarder of plants leads to sacrificing living space. By all means grow and experiment, but when your plants encroach on living space something needs to give.
