I think Taylor brought Ryan back to life again, I think the relationship between Ryan and Marissa was high school sweet hearts she was his Jimmy Cooper, Taylor was the adult relationship the posibility of a future, Taylor was his Sandy Cohen. ok taylor started in season three as an annoying twirp just like she is in season 4. she wasnt part of ryans life in season 3 or mentioned very much and now all of a sudden she is now the "ONE" for ryan in season 4? i think the o.c. ran out of options and just made taylor and ryan a couple just because. Marissa will always be the love of ryans life, taylor can just go away, she was only a main character for 16 episodes , marissa had 3 years.

yeah marissa was always in trouble but look at what her mom put her through and you cant forget what luke did, but marissa was always there for ryan like with theresa, she always supported ryans decision even when he left to go with theresa back to chino, marissa understood and she always helped out. Taylor and Ryan were forced because you cant say that you really get over the death of the love of your life in 5 months and thats all its been since marissas death.

there is no specific time frame for how long it takes it takes someone to grive... ryan was torturing himself for those five months.. and yeah marissa was there for ryan but she did a lot of bad shit to him too like oliver, johnny, dj, almost ruining his probation with her vodka on Chrismukkah... and taylor made ryan happy again, its not forced, unpredictable maybe but they gradually fell for each other and it was well done
