I ran into your video by accident and I loved it cause I grew up with the smurfs too. I had the small figures with the mushroom houses and the windmill. I still own them actually.
No worries on Kissyfur, my dad is in his 60's and still places it as his favorite cartoon series of all time. And this is coming from a man who generally doesn't like cartoons. Kissyfur will always hold a special place in my heart as well. :-)
@SarcasticLeaves That's awesome. Major props to your dad. Kissyfur is a really cute heartwarming cartoon that today's cartoons lack. Thank you very much for your comment.
Don't worry, I'm not one of those who says it's all right because a lot of persons do it. Goodness, no!
There is, however, a right and a wrong way to do it. If you still have reservations, you can contact the studio for the proper information you'd need to cite in your video description (rather than for permission to submit it, which is inherently implied).
As long as you give credit where it's due, you're good.
Citing the copyright information doesn't matter. I've seen a lot of people on YouTube get their accounts suspended and banned regardless. I really don't want to lose my account.
If I ever digitize these episodes, I suppose I could make an MP4 of them and send them to you through megaupload or something. But I'm not set up to digitize VHS tapes right now because my main desktop computer is in shambles currently.

Hehe yeah, well, getting in contact with a major animation company for permission to upload a video to YouTube is next to impossible let alone getting the permission. It just doesn't happen.
Hi, this is Athelink on DA. I'm happy I'm not the only person who enjoyed those shows. I didn't think anyone remembered Kissyfur. I want to keep up with your collection, so I'm watchign you.
Hey, thank you for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it. I apologize for my main YouTube page being blank, it isn't always like that. I just set it like that tonight because I'm taking a bit of a break. But all my videos are still viewable.
Thank you. Honestly, I don't know why there is such a strong mentality in most straight guys that put down having any sort of passion for childhood cartoons. They think it's not macho or something? Really, I think it makes them jerks. I like to see past that nonsense and just have fun with the things that I find fun and enjoyable. No peer pressure here. :)
I wouldn't of watched this if I didn't search for the smurfs cartoons. I watch them on my cell phone to. I never grew out of what I enjoy. I still watch the smurfs, and love watching older cartoons. Not sure why they took the smurfs off of TV. Anyhow, your the coolest man I have ever met.
Thank you so much. It's nice to find someone who agrees with me. As you can see from some of the other comments, I've been made fun of for this, but I don't care. I like what I like and nothing is going to change that nor is anything wrong with what I like, and it's nice to find other people (or in this case you found me) who share in the interest. No need to outgrow any favorite cartoon or show. It's all lighthearted goodness and makes me feel very happy inside. Why not continue to watch it. :)
It was cool to see an older video of yours. Did you ever get any of the Smurf posters you miss? I had seen a few on ebay as well, such as the cowboy one I think you mentioned in another vid.
I have much older videos on YouTube than this one. This isn't even a year old yet. I have videos up from 21 years ago in 1987 and a few years after. Check those out. No, I haven't tired to get those old posters again yet.
Oh I have! I enjoy your vids. I guess I meant older one of Smurfs, this mustve been on of the first of your smurf package videos(?). I noticed you got your channel icon image from this video too. Thanks for the reply. Will keep watching.
man...I miss all those old cartoons too. I wasnt born in the 80s but they still aired on tv and on boomerang and stuff....The current cartoons are sometimes ok, but overall fail in comparison.
You are so right, the crap today doesn't compare or even come close to the awesome stuff I grew up to. It's a shame because if the cartoons were still just as good I would still be waking up on Saturday morning to watch them. I miss that.
yeah. I would love to be able to wake up in the morning and turn on the tv and have some awesome cartoons to watch before I had to start the day. I used to watch cartoons ALL the time on tv on saturday mornings and such, but then came along all the crap today. Im not saying its ALL crap, some of it is enjoyable, but..yeah..most of it is garbage.
Kissyfur is NOT gay, I used to watch these on tv and others such as talespin and ducktales and naturally defenders of the earth.
Your right about the Cartoons/Animations of today, They are complete crap, I'm saving all of the 80's/90's shows on an external hard drive for when I have little cubs lol, we are all going through this nostagic period right now because life is crap and we want the 80's/90's back which was better.
Do Yourself a favour, Get Yourself a MAME Arcade machine.
Hey, thanks for your wonderful comment. It sure looks like you feel the same way I do. Yeah, I really don't think Kissyfur is gay, I was mainly trying to beat out the ones who would leave a bad comment slamming me over it, but yeah, I loved that cartoon. It came on before the Gummi Bears which came on before the Smurfs. I wouldn't say life is crap, just the entertainment industry has gone down the tubes, no quality left at all. I loved Talespin and Ducktales, too. Best cartoons ever. 80s ruled.
Childhood was better than we knew it, Sigh, sadly the industry has surcumb to the temptations of MS paint with regards to quality.
AHH the 80's, Sholder pads, Huge hair styles, Neon fashions, An Arcade on every street corner, Saturday morning Television, Denim Clothing, Shell Suits, Snap bands, POP Swatches on each wrist, AHH bliss
I did get 14 DVD and 9 VHS off of Ebay of the Smurfs and also picked up the new DVD as well. I also enjoyed Alvin and the Chinkmunks, Ninja Turtles, Garlfeld and Friends and Muppet Babaies, it always sucked because The Smurfs and Muppet Babbies wore on the same time slot, God I miss being a kid and the 1980's.
I'm kind of the same way as you, I loved and grew up watching the Smurfs and collected all their stuff/toys. When the series got cancelled I lost interest, but know that I'm older I'm rekindling my interests for the show and kicking myself in the ass for getting rid of all my old Smurf toys/stuff.
I thought it was odd that a video that has a thousand viewers also has as many as 30 odd comments. Until I find that most of the comments are from yourself!
WHAT A REAL FAN, i'M A FAN OF THAT CARTOONS TOO, iN THiS MOMENT iM STUDYiNG AT UNiVERSiTY AND i SPENT 3 1/3 HOURS SEARCHiNG ViDEOS OF 80'S CARTOONS, AND i ALMOST CRY WHEN i SEE THE iNTRO OF "KiSSiFUR". i CAN'T E PLAiN THiS BUDDY, THiS CARTOON WAS HiDDE ON MY MEMORiES UNTiL THiS NiGHT (13/10/07). i WOULD LiKE TO SEE THAT SERiES AGAiN ( DONT REMEBER "THE GOOMiES"). iTS GOOD TO FiND A NiCE GUY LiKE U, WHO TALK AND SMiLE A LOT WHEN SEE THAT CARTOON, MAYBE U LiKE DRAWiNG TOO.

Tom, the reason these people think that way is because they are stupid ignorant fools who don't know how to deal with anything that is out of their time or anything that is different. It's just something we have to learn to live with when it comes to humans and human nature. It sucks, but it's all part of life I guess.
Yeah I know. lol. I was feeling very nostalgic holding that Smurf, it was like holding my childhood there in my hands. Yes, I know they play Smurfs on Bomerang, I have actually been downloading a lot of Smurf episodes that have the Boomerang logo in the picture. I don't get that channel on my cable system unfortunately.
Fragile that was funny -I always think of that movie too when I see that word. What about that other thing you used to tell people about smurfs when you were real little when they would say your name - remember (lol)?
stupid fuck. who the fuck do you think you are telling him he's gay for the personal things he enjoys. you end yourself you fucking asshole piece of shit cock. fucking assclown.
Yes, I heard that, too. I've been keeping up with it on the forum at bluebuddies dot com. Yeah, I remember Maple Town, I loved watching that in 1989 on Nickelodeon. Shortly there after it was taken off, but I did manage to get two episodes on tape which I still have. I can't believe I'm not the only who remembers that show. :D
It was mostly The Smurfs and The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that captivated me as a young kid and like Brandon said I think in one of these comments the cartoons these days suck. But Spongebobsquare pants seems to win as popular with the kids.
Yes, it's Spongebob these days which is sad, because to me it looks like nothing but A.D.D. and totally demented. Compared to the cartoons I grew up to, the Spongebob characters are harsh on my eyes as well. That's pretty much the case with all cartoons these day, at least in the main stream. I miss the sweet light hearted persona that all the cartoons prior to the early 90s had.
but I also liked Papa Smurf because he was like the Head Smurf. I remember going to this one shop that sold them.If I went with my Mom I would always be able to get a new Smurf for my collection. I think there were two reasons for this. To shut me up while she was shoping & because they were cheap! I think the highest I saw a Smurf for was a buck! Does anyone else remember that? They sure don't make toys like that anymore!
I'm planning to make a video all about which characters I like and why. But I'll tell you quickly. I like Sweepy Smurf the best, he only appeared in one episode. I can give you the link to that episode, I put it online. The other characters I like are Brainy and Nat.
I know, I hate my kind as well to be honest. LOL. I've been outbid so many times because of that trick. Yeah, the ahole thing is hilarious, but it was actually spelled out completely, I just didn't want to swear on video. :)
Hi Brandon. Good to see you. Have you ever watched the Smurfs? If not you are truly missing out, it was the best cartoon in the world for most of us kids growing up in the 80s. If you get the Boomerang channel look for it. The cartoons that are made today suck.
Okay, I wasn't sure. It seems that these days the Smurfs are forgotten in today's young generation. I'm glad you know what they are, they are the best cartoons. Yes, I think the 40s and 50s cartoons are some of the best as well. Cartoons started going downhill in the early to mid 90s. It's a shame.
There was also Gargoyles that I was a big fan of which ran from 1994-97 I just think that was an epic and edgy cartoon from Disney. I lament to see the decline animation went into after Gargoyles. Have you seen Gargoyles? btw a lot of Star Trek actors contributed to some of the voices.
I was never a fan of Gargoyles actually. During that time frame was would catch the Animaniacs and cartoons like that, but even those never caught on to me. I think the last cartoon I was obsessed with was the Tiny Toon Adventures and Tale Spin, both of these shows ran from 1990-92.
Yeah I used to watch that too Garfield and Friends that was all part of the Saturday lineup and latter The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would come to kick some turtle shell lol!
I grew up watching the Smurfs lol! every saturday morning when i was like in kindgergraden or first grade I'd watch thee SMURFS!!! and I did collect the Smurfs too but the little action figures. lol!! yeah Star Trek and Smurfs who would of thunk it? lol!
I wish I kept all my Smurf figurines, I regret getting rid of those. Now I have to get some back through Ebay which is hard. It's so cool having a Smurf plush again. Smurfs are the best cartoon ever. :D

Hey
Love your honesty.
I too love the Smurfs.Always have and i'm considered very mature now.
I too like Knight Rider ,Airwolf and the like and think the 80's had the best entertainment shows compared to todays 'drivvel'.
It's all about doing what gives you joy and makes you feel good.
The memories of those shows do just that.
I don't care what others think you 'should ' be watching for your age or how they like to pigeonhole you if you like certain things.
ENJOY those shows. Enjoy life.

Jensen you looks like a kid in christmas, you got to see BOMERANG from CARTOON NETWORK
awyspot 4 years ago
Yeah I know. lol. I was feeling very nostalgic holding that Smurf, it was like holding my childhood there in my hands. Yes, I know they play Smurfs on Bomerang, I have actually been downloading a lot of Smurf episodes that have the Boomerang logo in the picture. I don't get that channel on my cable system unfortunately.

Fragile that was funny -I always think of that movie too when I see that word. What about that other thing you used to tell people about smurfs when you were real little when they would say your name - remember (lol)?

I heard that in decemeber the smurfs is coming out on dvd, One 80's show i loved was Maple Town did you ever watch that show?
coolduder 4 years ago
Yes, I heard that, too. I've been keeping up with it on the forum at bluebuddies dot com. Yeah, I remember Maple Town, I loved watching that in 1989 on Nickelodeon. Shortly there after it was taken off, but I did manage to get two episodes on tape which I still have. I can't believe I'm not the only who remembers that show. :D

Looks like you scored some really cool treasures there ;) That smurf plush looks like its in very good condition.
Ravenchild12 4 years ago
It totally is, I can't believe it looks this good. It's from the 80s, too.

It was mostly The Smurfs and The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that captivated me as a young kid and like Brandon said I think in one of these comments the cartoons these days suck. But Spongebobsquare pants seems to win as popular with the kids.
Phaser120 4 years ago
Yes, it's Spongebob these days which is sad, because to me it looks like nothing but A.D.D. and totally demented. Compared to the cartoons I grew up to, the Spongebob characters are harsh on my eyes as well. That's pretty much the case with all cartoons these day, at least in the main stream. I miss the sweet light hearted persona that all the cartoons prior to the early 90s had.

The Smurfs were awesome. Every Saturday morning I watched the full 90 minutes on tv.

Me too, it was my all time favorite cartoon and still is. There just hasn't been anything like it since. Totally epic.

I liked Brainy too,
but I also liked Papa Smurf because he was like the Head Smurf.

Cool video Shane.
I'm curious. What's your favorite Smurf character & why?
TomRoykouff 4 years ago
I'm planning to make a video all about which characters I like and why. But I'll tell you quickly. I like Sweepy Smurf the best, he only appeared in one episode. I can give you the link to that episode, I put it online. The other characters I like are Brainy and Nat.

I know, I hate my kind as well to be honest. LOL. I've been outbid so many times because of that trick. Yeah, the ahole thing is hilarious, but it was actually spelled out completely, I just didn't want to swear on video. :)

sweet! you uploaded this an hour ago! lol
Brandon050794 4 years ago
Hi Brandon. Good to see you. Have you ever watched the Smurfs? If not you are truly missing out, it was the best cartoon in the world for most of us kids growing up in the 80s. If you get the Boomerang channel look for it. The cartoons that are made today suck.
shanejensen 4 years ago
yeah well i like the cartoon from the 40s and fifties! yeah i couldn't agree more! the cartoons suck! i know what the smurfs are. lol
Brandon050794 4 years ago
Okay, I wasn't sure. It seems that these days the Smurfs are forgotten in today's young generation. I'm glad you know what they are, they are the best cartoons. Yes, I think the 40s and 50s cartoons are some of the best as well. Cartoons started going downhill in the early to mid 90s. It's a shame.
shanejensen 4 years ago
yeah that sucks they took them off TV! :(
Brandon050794 4 years ago
There was also Gargoyles that I was a big fan of which ran from 1994-97 I just think that was an epic and edgy cartoon from Disney. I lament to see the decline animation went into after Gargoyles. Have you seen Gargoyles? btw a lot of Star Trek actors contributed to some of the voices.
Phaser120 4 years ago
I was never a fan of Gargoyles actually. During that time frame was would catch the Animaniacs and cartoons like that, but even those never caught on to me. I think the last cartoon I was obsessed with was the Tiny Toon Adventures and Tale Spin, both of these shows ran from 1990-92.
shanejensen 4 years ago
Oops, forgot to mention Garfield and Friends also.
shanejensen 4 years ago
Yeah I used to watch that too Garfield and Friends that was all part of the Saturday lineup and latter The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would come to kick some turtle shell lol!
Phaser120 4 years ago
I grew up watching the Smurfs lol! every saturday morning when i was like in kindgergraden or first grade I'd watch thee SMURFS!!! and I did collect the Smurfs too but the little action figures. lol!! yeah Star Trek and Smurfs who would of thunk it? lol!
Phaser120 4 years ago
I wish I kept all my Smurf figurines, I regret getting rid of those. Now I have to get some back through Ebay which is hard. It's so cool having a Smurf plush again. Smurfs are the best cartoon ever. :D
