I gotta say that I hate the ads, and since the problem is only going to get worse, like Daxter717 I'm looking for an alternative to youtube. Any suggestions anyone? In the meantime, I just turn off the vids that have ads... gah... hate them.

YouTube has to put the overlays on your channel.

You might have to be a YouTube partner, I'm not sure about that though.

Ok. This guy is talking like you can add an overlay ad to your own video on here. ITS PRETTY FUCKING EXCITING!~.. Hm. Not to 99.9% of us that want to watch what we are wanting to watch. As if we dont get enough from TV.. According to the A.C. Nielsen Co., the average American watches more than 4 hours of TV each day (or 28 hours/week, or 2 months of nonstop TV-watching per year). In a 65-year life, that person will have spent 9 years glued to the tube.

Ok we take that 9 years of non stop TV and devide that down to hours, which is 78,840 hours. Ok so on that note. Lets guess the average 30 min show of family guy or whatever else you are watching is 15 min with 15 min of commercials. Ok so thats 1/2 of your time watching TV if you average that out over time if you dont channel hop trying to find a channel that isnt on a commercial. Thats 39420 hours of commercials. Alright. with a 30 second runtime on each commercial.

30 seconds per commercial right? Ok. well that would be 4,730,400 commercials on TV alone. Do we really need more? On almost every webpage of every website there is at least 1 ad. How many website pages do you go to while your online? Even on this page right now theres 5 ads. Can the world populous not function and thing for themselves what they need? Do we really need to be subjected to all of this? I mean. WTF. They even advertise in the shows we watch with product placement.

On some videos, I did some google ads but not flash ads like these. Revver is a lot worse than YouTube. Ads also appear at the end of the video too at Revver.

Monetize means to capitalize or to derive revenue. As a viewer I'm not so excited about it..That an understatement! But utube IS a business..this was inevitable If you prefer pure user generated video w/out mass media intrusion This is HoRRiBle! ON the plus side if you create your own content u may get some income.Many will flock to sites w/out layer ads. Its a two edged-word controversial & yet a way for users to benefit from their work.
