I'm with you there, something he must have misunderstood regarding direction an movements of the joints. He even say after 52s that he rotate the tibia out, ind he does it iinwards instead.
yer he does, i cant believe i missed that one. These elementary mistakes are a little worrying for what looks like a training video. I am going to go through his other vids to see if he is consistently naff with his orientations ;)
I'm a relatively new PT grad. This is a good vid. Well-produced; informative. I happen to have just torn my ACL. I was doing pseudo "self" pivot shifts as I did extremely deep squats (ie. sitting on my heels). I would feel the tibia sublux. Upon (painful) forced extension, it would reduce. Life sucks right now.
1st- walked across bedroom rug, felt a pop then fell. Plaster and physiotherapy.
2nd- waking up to a ice cold room and pulling my knee out. Walking round on my toes for about 3 months it dislocated and ended up on crutches and physiotherapy AGAIN.
3rd time- slipping on the ice, trying to stop my fall and popped it out. But this time I popped it in myself. Grossiest thing EVER.
Got it. Good demo, excellent info. Thanks for sharing, veryWest

pivot shift:
pos in acl tear.
subluxation of the lat. part of the tibial-plateau by valgisation of the knee-joint and internal rotation of the tibia (and attached foot ;-)).
at approx. 30° flex. the tibia wil "pop" back --> pos.

I got confused with this one coz when he said antero-lateral rotation he was motioning antero-medially (unless he switched legs)

I have a very weak knee. Dislocation 3 times.
