Is there some conspiracy between heavy metal record companies and Japan? How do they always end up with the bonus tracks? Speaking of Japan, our hearts go out to all those suffering from the tsunami/quake disaster!
i think it's to encourage imports.... the japanese bonus tracks, i mean. by adding special features like those, they encourage american and many non american buyers to buy the imported version from japan instead of the local one, so they get the money from the imports tax :/
@Artillerydrummer Do bands dedicate bonus tracks to Japan as a way of being able to tour in the country? I understand that the Japanese are selective about what enters their country.

Actually I hear that its cheaper to import CD's from the US so they toss in a bonus track for the Japanese release or something like that.

@vef444 It's a requirement by the japanese. They won't release an album unless there's a specific japanese bonus track on it.
