I find it hilarious how no one gets this. Hamsterdance was one of the first truly viral things created. It was shit, but it had copies such as devil dance, Jesus danc, and basically anything dance. I consider it very "historical" when considering the Internet culture today.  The original site was the hamsters in the video in rows with this song. And that was all it was.

It wasn't a screensaver (at least, not originally). It was a website lined for many screens with rows and rows of animated GIFs of hamsters dancing, along with a low-bitrate, sped-up sample from Disney's Robin Hood embedded on an infinite loop. Real simple HTML. Takes me back to 1998. Back then, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on them. "Give me 5 bees for a quarter," you'd say. Now where was I? Oh yes. I had an onion tied to my belt, which was the style at the time.

I never claimed it was otherwise. This is the actual original .gifs used to create the original Hamsterdance. What most of you all know as Hamtaro, etc. was the remake.
