that will get you last place.... good engineering though, i like the design... i find that a high gear ratio will give you lots of power but no speed, but a slightly lower gear ratio using more motors can give you the same power and double you speed... i've placed second in a 40 robot elevation game... final match we lost 29-34.... 5 points!!! our back wheel was an inch off the platform.... T-T oh well....
Thanks for the ideas guys. We played our first game of elevation today and I can tell you that it is possible to score on the 21" goal and even pick cubes out of the lower goals. We also discovered a few flaws like if the claw is resting on the ground and get bumped (accidentally of course) it will strip the worm drive gear (not the worm gear, the other one) a redesign will use potentiometers and dual motors to hopefully gain speed and flexibility in the arm. Look for another video coming soon.
If possible, try multiple motors on some of those joints. We've always used two for such arm designs, and always been able to move it much, much faster.
We had the slowest, most well built, most presise robot for the Prior Lake competition. The game wad clean sweep, and we took 1st place!

Was that at Granada Hills?

very slow, add some motors, and/or take off some weight.

that it definatly torqued, but your not gonna win n e thing if it isnt faster.. lowere the gear rattio, and if your usin a worm gear---stop.
