  • God Dammit, Steam - this is why I'm always broke, isn't it?

  • Very Happy about buying this this weekend on Steam (sale)

  • This game is a joke, and has always been a joke, ever since Serious Sam back in 2001. I'm surprised they keep making sequels. There is nothing attractive about this game. It's a bad parody of Duke Nukem.

  • @Hellknight3d And you are a bad parody of a serious gamer.

  • i hate this game so much, it makes no sense not realistic at all music sucks and the combat is pure shit

  • @xShardxx shutup and go play your CODs little boy

  • why does everione hate the second level i realy liked it :D

  • oh shit the mouse sensitivity

  • Comment removed

  • PLZ tell me how much comp costs PLZPLZPLZ

  • WTF IS SERIOUS SAM?? SERIOUS SAM 3 IS SERIOUS :D

  • Gotta love the later levels. The sheer number of enemies just keeps building up. The level where you get the minigun, i swear 3/4th of 1400 enemies spawn during the later half of that level, also last level is just bonkers 1770 enemies at Serious mode and then you have to beat the final boss, serious it is :P

SSam3 I'd like to have my teeth back for beating me so hard :F :D

  • yo dawg i heard you like options. So i put options, IN YOUR OPTIONS! So you can change settings while you change settings

  • Real men played these real shooters, modern shooters are just simple shooters for 12 year olds T_T

  • @daweed420

...although relating this to most kid's games I would say is kinda stretching it too far, cause unlike most kids games (at least the ones made today, excluding guys like sega, capcom, and the lot) don't suck...

  • @daweed420 Wow, and actually well thought out comment, and not just some empty headed retort like I always get from most people. Well, you got me there! But really even though it maybe an overly simplistic game, sometimes that's what some people need, I enjoy the Serious Sam games, and you obviously don't, and I'm ok with that

  • If you're trying to run the game at really high settings and are getting nasty frame rate issues, make sure super sampling is turned completely off. It's not a necessary feature, but the developers included it for people with really high end systems who would want to try running the game at the highest possible settings.

Also, You can always disable ambient occlusion, or turn it down at least. AO doesn't make a HUGE difference, and it can be costly on older systems.

    Also, great review.

  • I love all of the serious Sam games. I never played the games were he is in the future but I loved the classic games. Serious Sam was always a traditional game with a little bet of the same thing every game.

  • Gotta love serius sam games!

  • "oh my god, theres still more"...serious sam in a nutshell

  • i love how they kept the old sound effects

  • a game for real man, cover is for amateurs. we need more of this fast shooters and no slow stupid realistic shooters.

  • @laladieladada "a game for (a) real man" ? this p.o.s. game is one of the lamest FPS ever...

  • @daweed420 sigh.....you don't like having fun do you?

  • @UncleBetty32k Sigh indeed ...care to define "fun" please?

  • @daweed420 Are you really that empty headed to ask me to define the word fun?

I know you aren't stupid, don't act like it. The reason I said that was, because, contrary to your belief, just because a game is simplistic in some ways, and uses an older style a gameplay that is not used by the more modern games, doesn't mean it sucks, cause if that was the case, games like Doom and Duke nukem 3d, including serious sam, wouldn't be relevant anymore, yet it is. Why is that? Response?

  • @UncleBetty32k The reason i asked you to define fun is because one cannot...What you perceive as fun is something others might not thus making your "fun" argument void by default. SSam was made at an era where FPS were a dime a dozen, the only thing it had going for it was the vast number of enemies per wave. It was bright , basic and colourful , just like all kids games are & this one is no different.Good on the looks, weak on the gameplay wasn't my cup of tea then or now.

    PS. You forgot Quake.

  • @daweed420 Thankfully we have retards who enjoy Modern waffles 3....oh yes that is such an amazing FPS game....NOT !!!!!! I'd rather play Stalker all by my lonesome than join that MP game full of retardic 12 yr olds who curse like a drunken sailor....and TONS of cheaters....Between waffles and an oldschool no cover game like Serious Sam 3...definitely will choose Serious Sam...without even blinking...

  • @poofartass You seem to have some deep routed complex with MW...seeing as i never mentioned it.

  • @daweed420 I was just criticizing your calling of the game a pos fps game. If u don't like this style of fps, then stop commenting on it, stop bashing it. It does well what it does...and what it does is glorify the old age of fps games... I bet you are one of those people who actually think modern shooters are the thinking man's shooters...like TB complained about....just cause u don't like a game doesn't mean u have to call it a POS

  • @poofartass Dear SSam fanboy lets establish something...When you put your opinion up in public expect to have people arguing it. When you like something, expect the existence of others that don't... now moving on..

This game doesn't glorify anything but the fact that if you wrap crap with a pretty bow ppl will come buy it even when its 10 years stale. No effort whatsoever was made to improve the genre even in the tiniest bit back then or now. Stalker is a nice game indeed...better than MW imo.

  • @poofartass On modern shooters: I actually think that the "optimum" is somewhere in the middle...cover shooters are too simplistic in how you approach combat once you take the ability to "John Rambo" the situation away from the player..Sadly modern shooters ARE better than older ones, atleast when it comes to AI, physics etc...

PS. Section 8 is basically an oldschool game [Unreal] with tweaks that put some strategy into the way you think. SSam3 is just an effort to cash in. Nothing more.

  • @daweed420 I am not a SSam fanboy lol...I actually played SSam only sendomly to avoid boredom, but I would still rather play this game than MW or other shitty fps games like Rage etc. The fact is that today's shooters may have improved physics and AI and whatnot, but in terms of how u play them, the general difficulty is dumbed down and u lack the freedom that some of the older games have. Yeah SS is not the best proof of that, but it partains to a certain class of fps gamers...

  • @poofartass Agreed..Dumbing down games is the trend the last 10+ years...sadly people prefer finishing a game, rather than being challenged by it. As gamers we need to stop looking at the eyecandy and look to be challenged by games, that being said SSams approach of "here's more quantity" is as cheap and simplistic as they come...

  • @daweed420 It is a cheap way to give u a somewhat of a challenge, but at least they are doing it lol...besides they go by the saying if it ain't broke don't fix it...and I can't really blame them. The day people will stop buying SS is the day they will make something new. And what do u mean by don't get me started on Rage ? It had a horrifying pc launch no matter if u had Nvidia or ATI(now AMD) and that was just 1 problem. Poor optimization, boring quests, annoyingly stupid AI etc...

  • @poofartass dont get me started=Rage was an overhyped flop...

  • @poofartass Dont get me started on Rage

  • I loved the old games, especially on serious difficulty. I would host 16 player matches all the time. And the great thing about it is that EVERYONE would want to play my server. But I also remember how we used to have to use the serious deathmatch mod to play deathmatch.

  • I also get the frame drops...I tried a few things..I think it has something to do with nvidia Gpus, I usually run it at 60+ fps but sometimes it goes to 20 or less for a few seconds...it is not a game braking problem tough.

  • @melculrapid Make sure you got the patch, it apparently makes the game run like 50% better for less resource consumption to boot.

  • currently 66% off on getgamesgo com

  • 28:20

Thank you so very fucking much. Bugs the crap out of me when old-school shooters get called 'stupid' despite being more mentally stimulating than any hoo-ah dudebro shooter.

  • @TheOtherLioyd (This isn't sarcasm, I'm serious.)

  • can someone please tell me when this is coming out on xbox 360

  • crysis 2 graphics were amazing.

  • all i can say is YOU MAD MWFAGS?

  • Comment removed

  • @megacheddaronxbox Are you serious? A gaming laptop? I'm not even going to ask how much you paid for it because I know that I could build a desktop with much better specs with whatever you paid. Dark side, you are far from.

  • Noooooo, where is my chainsaw? I don't want a Sledgehammer :(

  • Why are the two comments the EXACT same things from the EXACT same person.

  • @SecondVelocity Because they're the most epic comments made thus far

  • Everyone sign dark souls pc petition.see the video made by total halibut why dark souls should come to pc on youtube.

  • Nice how the two top comments are the same comment by the same person.

  • This video shows what's missing in games. Learning

TB goes up sees the minigun and red beam and sees it killing enemies

Moments later TB hears the minigun sound and sees the red line and is taking damage so knows its a minigun you have to go round another way to reach

  • 2:00 yeah, sonic generations has like no damn graphics options.

  • fucking kleers

  • He's right, 16 player co-op online, last level, 1700+ enemies. No breaks.

  • Fuck this guy \/

And fuck the top two comments

  • Why are te top comments THE EXACT SAME COMMENT?

  • what was the name of that 'thinking man's' shooter that TB mentioned? 'armour'? arma? it sounded something like that, i thought. I very much enjoyed 'stalker' and 'deus ex' so would be very intrigued to discover a game along the same category as those. if anyone can fill me in i would be most appreciative. cheers

  • @LionelRaw The game TB mentioned is Arma: Armed Assault. It comes fairly close to depicting what modern armed combat actually is like. You apparently have something like 10km worth of draw distance, and shotguns act like real shotguns, not Quake shotguns.

Or, if you've got a bit of a masochist streak, there's always Red Orchestra, set in World War II: Get shot by near-invisible enemy with a bullet drop, projectile-based, non-hitscan weapon; die.

  • @DaRedWunsGoFasta

Yea, it's pretty close to 10km. If you've got a gaming computer ArmA II is the game to test it out with. Almost more masochistic than RO. Think the closest console game to ArmA II would be Ghost Recon from way back when

  • whats translated from the wall has nothing to do with what is written

The wall says: "The Chef of the poison is tasting it" not "from a million men god singled him"

I wonder where they got that random phrase from? XD

  • @watch4ever "The Chef of the poison is tasting it" is a good phrase though XD

  • @BloodPixi3 XD

  • Would like to see your comments if you went further up to Dark Bride level in single player.

  • God damn TB, now my nose is itchying too!

  • Totalbiscuit - will you cover the most anticipated fighting game ever, My Little Pony: Fighting is Magic, when it comes out?

  • @porterleete You've got to be fucking kidding me.

  • hrvatsko je hrvatsko :D

  • "WTF Is Serious Sam 3?" IT'S AN AWESOME OLDSCHOOL FUCKING GAME, BUY IT!!!

  • Dear lord you're bad at FPS games. I don't consider myself that good, but easily got through that area without taking more than 20 or 30 damage.

  • @ChudFapper Have you played serious sam?

  • @ChudFapper Serious Sam HAS no cover, it has hoards of enemys.......you try walking away with more than 50 health in any Serious Sam games

  • played only the first Serious Sam game, but I do understand WTF you are talking about

  • TB when you died in this video towards the start i thought it was really hypocritical what about what you said in the mail box people should cut out their mistakes and deaths. Honestly i think that is bad. Also just to say i kinda quit on you when you stopped doing wow no offence.

    Your once loyal fan

  • @AgonarGaming then why are you veiwing his videos and why do you think he would give a shit?

  • The smoke is a good choice, even if we're talking about kamikaze monsters, bring out the fear and the fun. Like creeper being able to creep on you, if there isn't any smoke they won't stand a chance, even in massive numbers.

  • it was better when you couldnt actually sprint away from the kamakaze bombers

  • no one is playing because it crashes and stutters for those few that want to play it.

  • @Jeroenske Huh, strange. It works fine for me. Maybe someone can help you if you tell them the exact details of your problem.

  • @Jeroenske or there MWfags yeah im going to go with that. fuck MW

  • Spin to win kids

  • @EmperorOfLols Ahh shit, i made a spelling error, brb deleting comment

  • Thanks for calling out IGN on that ridiculously dumb comment in their review. I raged when I saw it and wondered just what they were smoking.

  • @TotalHalibut Thanks man for this video. If you ever come to Croatia I'd like to go to beer with you, you're an awesome gamer and PC supporter and that's why most of us like you!

    Pozdrav iz Zagreba!

  • Not quite sure how you could get lost, it's not like there was a maze there. If you don't see any enemies, you can be sure that you've been there before.

  • It's interesting to see a lot of players not realizing that you can stop a Kamikaze by shooting him once with the pistol.

He'll halt for a short period of time and the then continue running. He'll explode on the second shot.

Using this you a) Don't have to (almost) kill yourself shooting a near-by Kamikaze and b) Control single Kamikazes to blow up in the largest possible group. Especially if a single one is running ahead of a lot of others.

Both things help a lot in combat.

  • Is there LAN coop?

  • Two idiots below me.

  • This looks like battlefield or COD...

  • @samuraistalin not really...

  • @samuraistalin yeah.. kinda looks like call of duty

  • @samuraistalin No... No it doesn't.

  • The reason why the Deagle doesnt kickback that much is becuase sam is so strong =)

  • If you turn on VSYNC with Triple Buffering it can help.

  • @BeardedKirklander vsync, especially tripple buffering makes your controls irresponsive. :(

  • @TheRealNici - Why would you say that? I've played for decades and use Vsync and TB all the time and never seem to have issues. How could it make things less responsive? It also eliminates visual tearing.

  • @BeardedKirklander It is a well-known fact. With Vsync, the program waits until the next verical blank on the screen to flip the buffers, resulting in keyboard or mouse inputs being buffered during the wait and thus delaying them. It's also why performance is usually worse with vsync on.

And yes, the whole point of vsync is to eliminate visual tearing. But it comes at a cost, that's why it's not enabled by default.

  • @TheRealNici - I was never aware of any slowdown, but I guess I'm not as observant.

I've played for years and had no idea that there was any noticeable delay.

Are there specific situations where I might notice it? I have Q3A, UT2004, Painkiller, Serious Sam TFE/TSE and other FPS's I can goof with.

Thanks for taking the time to respond - It's cool to learn stuff. :)

  • @BeardedKirklander Hi, I'm not sure which of those games feature it the most. But I've seen some pretty bad effects on Source Engine games, especially "Nuclear Dawn" with Tripple Buffering on. :( With vsync off, the "smoothed out" reactions were gone. After asking on the steam forums, I was told that vsync can cause input lag. It really comes down to the implementation and the style of gameplay whether you notice or not, though.

  • @TheRealNici - Thanks for the info. I'm glad I've never actually noticed a problem over the years. Maybe cause I wear glasses? I dunno. I've always seemed to prefer Vsync On and Triple Buffering On. It just seems fluid and seems to work quite well for me.

Glad we have the option to use it or not as we choose.

    Happy gaming!

  • @BeardedKirklander Happy gaming to you too, it's nice to have such a good conversation on youtube for a change. :)

  • What stands BFE in the title for?

  • @TheSparkplug01 Before First Encounter

  • Indeed modern shooters are shit and don't need any thought, if you put them on anything except the very hardest setting you tend to be able to just run right through everything 1 shotting stuff as you go and beat the game in an hours.

Recently rebought quake and unreal tournament 2004 and bloody love them! not played a shooter for ages cos they all suck now but those games are awesome

  • keller n contraband ads so annoying and every

  • @sh00taboy ok... why didnt you say that in the first place people can misunderstand your statement

  • @Pouttu474 Why should I, I don't care of your opinion.

  • Its not 39.99€ , its 27,99€ right now. price drop

  • In the late 90's we had a nice plethora of tac shooters. Rainbow 6, Rogue Spear, and Delta Force. Around that time, we had System Shock 1 and 2, Project IGI, Deus Ex, and Thief 1 and 2. I would say that era was the time of "Thinking Man's Shooters".

  • @Asianwaste I still have Delta Force: Land Warrior.

  • In ZPs defense, He gives it a recommendation if you actually listen to him. But hes famed for his harshness even on his most favorite titles. All he really says is that an opportunity was missed in improving the old school gaming rather then just staying old school with graphical upgrades. Like remaking van gogh's starry night with brighter colors rather then trying to add/change anything to make it even slightly better.

  • @JoeNightmare Yeah his main argument is that it's more of the same Serious Sam so if you're a fan, you'll dig it but if you're not, there's nothing new or innovative to compel you to try it. Which, from watching this video, seems true to me.

  • "Look give up! I killed all your friends!"

  • A thinking FPS would be golden eye wii: classic mode

  • For the love of god I need a sound bite of you saying issue.

  • I figured the smoke thing was a design choice so you don't see the horde of suiciders running at you? I Like it.

  • The biggest thinker man shooter : Battlefield 2: Project Reality.

  • Suicide kamikazes? I'm preety sure they're just Kamikazes or suicide bombers xD

  • @unknown5415 no, they have two bombs, so suicide AND kamikaze

  • So, to be concise...Serious Sam 3 is a Danmaku and a PvE FPS...combined into one huge game of awesomeness. Gotta love it.

  • And TB, the Desert Eagle isn't supposed to have huge recoil when using smaller ammunition. Sniping those enemies is EASY with desert eagle, so you should consider that. Melee is really well as long as you can't get hit while you're executing it and when you're fighting 1 enemy or having more come at you 1 by 1. Really useful against Kleers.

  • Let's pretend the Desert Eagle's TMAR makes it big :3

  • This is why Kid Blood is awesome

  • does this game have the aim assist thing the others had where you could miss and still hit? Ever since duke 3d, I've thought that feature sucked.. granted you had no Y axis control on duke so it sorta had to have it. SS never needed it though.

  • U have no skill mate :) How about CrimeCraft or APB Reaload mate ?

  • also, realism fag$ are the biggest annoyance that ever put their foot into the gaming world. My god are they ballisticly idiotic and can't see the whole thing for what it is. Also, about the thinking man shooters, you are darn right. Most intelligent people I know do in fact play old school shooters! It's something about the skill required I guess, that requires more brain than hiding behind a box and healing up

  • @DuraheLL So if you played a game that used modern military guns and hardware, wouldn't you want it to be realistic? Which is the exact reason I don't play CoD or the BF series. I personally think it's a perfectly good requirement from a shooter than uses guns and hardware that actually exists.

  • @JamesWheelz no. since gameplay > realism

  • @DuraheLL

Old school shooters generally require more thinking than most people think - you've got encounters where you have to retreat to cover and then think about how to approach the issue (which targets to eliminate first? What cover can I use effectively? Where should I move to?), because if you just bust in guns blazing left right and center without forethought, you're gonna get wasted (or at least suffer an unacceptable amount of damage that won't regenerate by itself).

  • This game is pure nostalgia. The game (once the real action kicks in) brings back the good old memories of Serious Sam. Though personally I think they could have skipped stuff like clips, and it feels they could have had more varied weapons since they let reality come before variation on SS3 sadly. But no biggie, the game is still awesome as hell! And i's the adrenaline I have been searching for for years

  • Oh this type of game brings me back... Goldeneye(N64), Perfect Dark, Original Ghost Recon/Rainbow Six... Oh spent hours making new plans and strategies for the last 2... Back when you had to think before you even pressed start then continue to think while playing the mission.

  • Bah, No Giant Yellow Saw from Serious Sam 2? Dammit Serious Sam series! you have failed me.

  • I could help you with fixing a lot of the issues you are running into.

  • 28:58 STALKER /bow

  • @Sparky666Pivot they said they might port it. if they are it will be later in the year

  • is this coming out on xbox?

  • @Joez0612 Looking at the options menu, and having played this game on the higher ones, you'd be getting a very downsized port. It would probably be more effective to simply buy a slightly better PC just to play the game. Mind you, this doesn't demand just your graphics card like Battlefield 3, but equally from your cpu and gpu. All that said, I wouldn't doubt it's eventually going to be ported to the consoles, but not without severe cuts in quality.

  • @Joez0612 no. i HIGHLY doubt it, and if the only watch TB to find Xbox games then go look at fucking IGN.

  • umm actually the translation of the first sentence on the wall was wrong the literal one is "who cooks the poison tastes it"

  • 12:40 to skip past all the boring shit

  • can you make a wtf is... Q.U.B.E.

  • you should do this indie game called ace of spades, its a combo of minecraft and online shooter.

    world wide web(dot) ace-spades (dot)com

  • goldeneye was 1997

  • Total Biscuit uses Sledgehammer Spin

    Its Super effective!

    " Its extremley effective"

Dammit pokemon why must you be everywhere! XD

  • A further testament to my previous statement, one of the things you can die to in Sam 3 on many occasions is an Enormous Sand Whale. If you've seen tremors, multiply the largest worm by 100. It's more like Dune sized. And how do you die to this? You wander too far off the beaten paths into the desert, brilliant really.

  • Sam 3 BFE starts off slow and kinda boring. In the first few levels the gameplay is pretty bad, though it's probably designed to attract new players and slowly teach them how to play the game. There are secrets you can use to skip much of the tedious, obvious, annoying parts of those levels entirely, which is awesome. The game turns into epic, open battles with hordes of monsters coming from up to all directions over the more ancient world of egypt, like it should and does in the old games.

  • havent been on his channel for a year. "looks back up" and his still doing his options thing.

  • i totally love this type of game play and thats not nostalgia because i am 15

  • @pacninjalink who said nostalgia is only for the old? i am also 15 years old and i find myself very nostalgic for the good old days of gaming for me...back when i was about 8-11

  • @RsLxM0T0M4TT Ya but, I didn= not discover FPS till Goldeneye and that was like in 2002. lol loved that n64

  • Duke Nukem was balls terrible. But so was Modern Warfare.

  • YOU GON DIE SON, YOU GON DIE.

  • Can anyone help me i get this error when I start the game

cannot open file content/serious sam 3/scripts/playermeleeselection.lua

  • This guy sounds very similar to Cell from Dragonball Z

  • Is this out for xbox 360 too?

  • @JoshDave360 Not yet, but they're working on it.

  • @JoshDave360 Nope, its mainly developed which makes me feel like a little schoolgirl, its AWESOME!
