I think some people feel Jay more because he has created a mystique around himself through his marketing and subject matter constantly refering to himself as a God and that accumulates to the point where his whole persona is 'The Rap Messiah'. Lupe has very little consistency in his subject matter, has no additional assistance from his persona or any mystique.
