  • One word, "Halabja"

  • Thanks for this post.

  • this is sooooo true today. The government is getting worse all the time and we the average joe, and those on social security our parents are suffering because of it.

  • Like @aynatn says, Kris has earned the right to talk. If he says his Daddy would have been shocked at what we're doing he's talking about a 100% military man and patriot. Bless those who fight against evil, like we saw with Hitler in WW II and bless those who provided leadership in those perilous times. But damn the bastards who sacrifice the lives of our young men and those who we attack for their own gain. Kris has a conservative audience too but he's not afraid to speak his heart. Bless him.

  • @keirajaimon And you; well said.

  • peace n love for all

  • This song is more appropriate now more than ever.

  • never

  • - " the wars will all be fought again - the holy dove, it will be caught again - then bought and sold and bought again - the dove is never free " - - - But Kris, [and some others], are free and brave enough to look it in the eye and call it by it's name.

  • DON'T LET THE BASTARSDS PUT YOU DOWN!

  • Kris Kristofferson is a great songwriter and this is a fantastic song! I dont agree with his commy politics but I never let that get in the way of a great song! Brilliant stuff here!

  • tell the truth and stand your ground. indeed.

  • This is a great song. People need to know war is the last resort.

  • Thank you, Kris, for always standing up.

  • It takes tremendous courage and integrity to stand up for what you believe, especially when the underlying goal is peace for all people. Kristofferson is a treasure as a talent and a great man. Thank God for people like this to hopefully inspire the rest of us to try and use our talents to bring something good to the world.

  • Just what we need to hear...this is awesome...thank you Kris Kristofferson and baroy

  • A lot more people should listen to what the man has to say.And a lot of them bastards should not get away with what they do

  • LOVE IT!!!!!!

  • To hear a grown man cry should bring us all to our knees and to hear the message of peace....my hero in these times of change.

  • Kris carries a tune like Kurt Cobain...but that doesn't matter. Neil Young doesn't doh, ray, mee his away around the audio spectrum. What's great about these artists are their words...they are poets putting words to song, adding ambiance to authorship!

  • 4 dislikes on this one, too. All four probably from JuanMacready

  • No Kris, thank you.

  • for the three people who dont like this....close your eyes and set in the middle of the interstate. Then wait..

  • like Leonard Cohen wrote everybody knows the good guys lost.

  • the american empire is out of touch with reality. we suffer from this behavior>

  • thank you Kris for sharing the TRUTH !!!!!!!!!!

  • he tells it like it is

  • Bankers start wars then finance each side, see FIAT EMPIRE

  • Wasn't he a major or something in the military?...had Ranger training, and was a helicopter pilot. His dad was a career military officer.

  • @aynatn His dad was a Major General in the Air force. Kris got a Rhodes Scholarship to Oxford. After that he went into the Army, obtained rank as a Captain, went into flight school, then Ranger training. He was offered a Professorship of English Lit at West Point in 1965, but turned it down for music. I would say his Family knows full well about the "bastards".

  • @rea1001 So many people have no idea about his background. He not only knows of what he speaks, it's well said. He's one of the grratest poets to ever grace this planet.

  • @bornstandin Agreed.

  • A brilliant songwriter!! And yes he has more talent than you ever will.

  • One of the greatest men, not to mention talented and beautiful........some people have their taste all in their mouth.

  • @JuanMacready

Um. . . why all the hating? Kris is a talented singer/ songwriter who happens to be one of the sexiest men of all time.

  • @JuanMacready You have no taste!!

  • @sassyreggae Haters are just pathetic losers who'se own life sucks because they are too lazy to do anything about it so they hate anyone that has done something.

Haters have to put others down to make themselves feel better and feel important but all it really does is show how truly pathetic they are!

  • @JuanMacready Naw,but I will bestow a slow death for someone you care about!

  • @JuanMacready What is wrong with you ?., That is a cruel hateful thing to say about anyone. espececilly someone with such a gift who only brings beauty and joy to others. I am thankful for the gifts he shares with me and others.

  • @JuanMacready nah man, he was pretty rad in Blade.

  • @smegmadiver22 Blade is a piece of shit.

  • @JuanMacready - Opinions are like ___holes, everyone has one. Talent and drive on the other hand are rare, and Kris has both. He'll also probably admit that he isn't a vocalist, but he's a song writer. That aside, I much prefer his music over that song you wrote for Joplin and Cash, what was that called? Oh yeah! You didn't do any of that...and I can't remember the films you were in?!?

Apparently you aren't taking full advantage of the capitalist system you find yourself in.

  • @sassyreggae You bet ya! My husband if 33 yrs knows I get within 10 feet of Mr Kris all bets are off. I have only one CD in my truck for when I have no radio , you got it Kris and my husband likes it to or tolerateS it for me at any rate. Kris rosks!

  • @0120kds

ha ha we should be so lucky as to get within 10 ft.!

  • A point that most of you "political commentators" seem to have missed is that the U.S.A. is a democracy. This means that if one has an opinion that differs from that which is expressed by the actions of the government, they have a moral obligation to protest. "My country right or wrong" is ignorant and dangerous. Dissent is patriotic.

  • Kris flew helicopters in Germany. He also flew them with equipment to the oil rigs. He was never in Nam. He wanted to go there but they wanted him to teach at a military academy. That's when he left the military and went to Nashville.

  • As far as I know he was never in Vietnam. He was a captain, a Ranger and a helicopter pilot but as far as I can tell the only place overseas he served was West Germany.

  • Great lyrics!

  • what if the wored we sed then woodent meen somthing difrent then

  • Kristofferson was in Nam, a good friend of mine that was a 3 tour Chief Warrant Officer 4 pilot served with him. He was also a West pointer and graduated Ranger and Airborne schools. He can say whatever the F he want's cause he walks the walk.

  • He eeven wrote a song about one of his hommies over there in the nam.

  • Way too much politics being disgusted. We should treat our politicians like the Chinese do, if they are caught with there hands in till give em a bullet in the back of the neck. Case closed. Now lets get back to music.

  • to Conail....whether I agree with the message of the song or not....Kris spent a year flying choppers in Viet Nam. I think his opinion may be more relevant than yours.

  • so his experience there makes my opinion irrelevant? I respect the man, and I respect what he's been thru, but that doesn't make me afraid to have my own opinion. it isnt logical to say that his opinion is better b/c he was in Vietnam, for 1 thing, that experience may have actually CLOUDED his judgment, for another, what about all the vietnam vets who DO support the War in Iraq?

  • just read wiki, doesn`t say a word about Kris being in Nam. where can I get info to support your claim? I loved Kris ever since he starred with Barbara in the re-make of "A Star Is Born", even started drinking Shlitz beer

  • im disapointed as could be! What kinda country singer votes for obama? i think Johnny Cash would not approve

  • One that is a thinker not a redneck.

  • He was a helicoper pilot in Vietnam and says his politics have changed since those days.

  • He was a pilot, but he was never in Vietnam. He flew equipment to the oilrigs.

  • Johnny Cash would approve and did approve...Him and Kris Kristofferson where good friends.

  • I'm aware that him & Cash were friends, I am a big fan. But that doesnt mean Johnny would agree with this song. Remember, J. Cash also endorsed Nixon so he was somewhat conservative, but he was also friendly with Al Gore so I'm not saying Johnny Cash was just for one party, Im just saying J Cash was pretty conservative & patriotic.

  • Id say he was the kind of man who could disagree with both his friends and the politics of his country. And in this case I belive he agreed with Kris.

I dont think he endorsed Nixon either,he did have good things to say about Jimmy Carter(junes cousin)as well.

Conservative,no id say was about a openminded as he could be.And voicing an opinion is not the same as being unpatriotic.

  • being a conservative is not the antithesis of being open-minded. and i have the family approved biography of Johhny Cash and it says he did endorse Nixon.

  • Wich one of the 3-4 biographies are you talking about?

It has been a while since I read any of them so my memory may be wrong.

  • Hey did you conservatives ever think that maybe Johnny, waylon,Kris and willie are more liberal in there thinking. Considering they rose to fame durring the counter culture revolution of the 60s and 70s.I me thats what I'm guessing I could be wrong though.

  • Hmmmmm, I wonder if he voted for Obama?

  • I think he did considering he has god bless obama on his web page.

  • LISTEN AND VOTE NO TO LIS/CON 2 PEOPLE

  • Absolutely brilliant, wish people would heed this!

  • Just imagine: Kris is about the age of MY Daddy,,,and still singing about HIS Daddy! :)

  • i think alot more people should listen to these type of songs instead of all the crap music nowadays ,

brilliant song one of his best :)

  • @jameswalshe09 Don't let the BASTARDS get ya down..

  • @jameswalshe09 Kris is an excellent example of how one does not have to be vulgar to make great and memorable music - he is a true talent, oh and by the way a lyrical genius

  • i think people seem to forget that if it wasn't for Bush we would of all ready lost more of our civil liberties...its the banks that need doing for war crimes cause they pay for both sides

  • "He who gives up freedom for temporary security deserves neither freedom or security" Benjamin Franklin

  • @bluesboy25000 NWO has the World Drugged with a Neuortoxin in Cola's says Sodium its REally Hex-ACID see Films at "FluorideAlert"

  • What!?

I cant make head nor tail of that post...

  • Uh... Who do you think sat back and let the banks run amok and do as they pleased in the first place? How about all those predatory lenders who put the housing market in the toilet with their 0% down scams? Bush hasn't been out of office a year and now people are scraping the bottom of a barrell (which doesn't even exist at this point) to find a shred of decency in that asshole's 8 year debacle of a presidency. Come on! You're twice as oppressed now than you've ever been!

  • Interesting that people are saying we're not supposed to bring politics into this when that's precisely what this song is about.

  • Fukin' awesome performance, and a great song. Sorry I didn't hear it earlier.

    Thanks for posting it,

  • Yeah , Kris just sent a big Fyou toi bush and his croneys, i really hoe they bring his and chaneys ass up on war crimes and hang em just like they did saddam , they are just as low lifes as him and they deserve the same justice

  • Children, children. Play nicely, or I'll take your toys away!!!!

  • Wow! Great picture quality & sound. Thanks!

  • hvordan har du det?

  • Thank you very much for uploading. Kris is just great, on of the best songwriters ever born.

  • Takker, visste det fantes litt vituge sørlendinger au!;-)

Oh yeah to all you boys who talk about being attacked,Iraq never attacked you.Neither did the people of afghanistan. They where mostly saudis, oooops, your allies.Congratulations, you where attacked by an ally. Now go play with the slow children.Kris is a bigger man and a better american than any of you!

    waffe

  • i agree with you bush started this war for all the wrong reasons and no lrag never attack us i hope obama will be a bettrer letter

  • OK,you seem well informed. Now show me the proof.Completely disregarding the fact that Iraq was a great place to live as a christian before the invation...

I would also like the verse or chapter in the koran that proves your theory.

Oh yeah and I dont think you can replace "for" with a number.Go play with your homies or somewhere

Anything else before we close?I hear meth is popular among you folk these days?

  • i dont play wit homies, thatz the gangs and shit. i play wit my friends, u knw that old word they used2use b4 all these other words replaced it. meth isnt used by all of us. since ur sayin that iraq was a good place 2live b4 the "invasion" i would presume that u lived ther, if not 4a lil while. how would u feel if sum1 crashed planes and killed hundreds of ppl ther? ud want justic 4it. thatz all we want is justic 4the sucker punch we recieved from the terroriest that was UNPROVOKED. get real

  • So in conclusion you made stuff up,figured as much.

  • i completely agree wit u, and i wish that other ppl would look at it the same way. i mean wat would they have said if he wouldnt have done anythin? anyway those of u who r goin 2say this is a bad comment, i dont care. I AM A PROUD AMERICAN AND I WILL DIE 4AMERICA IF I HAVE2! THOSE PPL OVER THER SUCKER PUNCHED US AND THEY DESERVE EVERYTHING THAT THEY GOT AND R GETTING. IF UR A AMERICAN THEN U WOULD WANT JUSTIS 4THOSE THAT DIED, IF NOT THEN UR NOT A TRUE AMERICAN!

  • I guess you're not such a real American, 'cos you ain't over there dying for your country right now muppet!

  • Yes, you are a real American - poorly spoken, rude, barely literate, and proud of it.

  • i am very well spoken if i choose to be. and yes i can be rude when i want to when my country is being attacked. i am not barely literate, thank you very much. i am much more literate than i show. if you dont like what i have to say then you can kiss my white american A@#! I am proud as hell to be an american, and if you dont like that the same goes for what i said above. if you want to tangle ill tangle, but you wont win. trust me.

  • Hush up, little boy. If you're so literate, let's see it. I think that you're just a wannabe, chest-thumping thug, and that you use the fact that you were born into a pretty good country as if it were something that you could actually take pride it.

However, to take pride in something, one must actually have responsibility for that thing being the way it is.

What have you done for this country? Threatened other countries with poor grammar? Thumped your chest like a big man?

  • Really now, you're a little boy who wants to sound big, and you're nothing in comparison to the people who actually spent years of their lives building this country.

And you're nothing in comparison to the real warriors of ages past, like the French soldiers fighting under Napoleon in Russia who, cut off from the main force, signaled to the command "We who are about to die salute you," and then fought to the death.

That's courage - all you have is idiotic chest-thumping.

  • for one i am not a lil boy! IM A GURL, DUMB AZZ. wat have i done 4this country, well not a dam thing. YET! id wat the hell got a spur in ur saddle but u need 2bck the hell off my back. ive been as nice as i will b. im tired of all this, leave me alone and go hide in a corner. im thro it takes a better person 2 walk away from a fight then 2fight. im walkin away. call me a coward if u want 2but i dont care. cuz at least im not the1who's picking a fight wit sum1 else cuz i have nothin better2do

  • Shut up and listen to this great man play. I don't care about your fucking politics.

  • ok 1) dont tell me what to do. 2) i have listened to this great mean sing and play his guitar, and i do every day. 3) if you look it is a month ago that, that convo took place. itz the past, let it go. thank you and have a good day

  • I'm telling you to shut up.. big deal. Don't let politics get in the way of great art. And stop using "Z" instead of 's, it makes you look fucking retarded.

  • you know im bein nice, it would be nice if you could at least give me the same respect as i am giving you. i didnt yell and i didnt scream. so please just leave me alone. i will use the z's instead of s if i wish that is my choice, and it doesnt mean that i look retarded. so please take your own advice and listen to this great man sing, and dont get mixed up in convertsations that have nothing to do with you. thank you and have a good day

  • politics has always been part of great art

  • Some great art. Bob Dylan left it all behind and made some of his greatest albums.

  • bob dylan never left "politics" behind, he just got more metaphorical about it. which to me i hate obvious political shit, i like more of the kristofferson stuff where you get into the emotions of people involved in it. dylan just stopped trying to be woody guthrie. his politics are more intelligent than what they were trying to make him out to be - some mild liberal spokesman or whatever...

  • Kris - this song powerfull and with feelings,

what you always are.I was awake all night during the Presidential election, and you were the first one in my mind. Thanks so much for your greeting to us all on your web site.God bless you, too... You are the greatest. All my love...

  • I saw Kris in London in 2006 and again at the Royal Albert Hall this year. He is an inspiration and an ambassador for his country. I have loved his music since the early 70s. I hope he is happy at the outcome of the Presidential election. God Bless Kris.

  • This is great!!

As you said you got the whole show on tape, could you please upload a few more songs from that evening??

    Would be nice!!!!

    Thanks very much!

  • the world is a sham

  • Oh great We just sit here and let terroists kill us!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the terrorist did not come from iraq. saddam had nothing to do with 9/11. iraq had no weapons of mass destruction to use against us. this war in iraq was based on lies by bush/cheney. it has caused america our blood, our treasure, and our standing in the eyes of the world.

  • They had about a month I think it was to hide all the weapons!

  • tacyella11-you are smarter than that. if there had been any weapons of mass destruction they would have been found by now.they never had them. it was just a lie to scare us wih to get us into a war.

  • I really dont think my intelligence should be questioned here just because I dont believe as you do,dogdigger. I think we should agree to disagree and leave subject alone. God Bless

  • they moved them out into syria before we got to them man..

  • Yes..u got it man..yes,Im afraid you do..:O(

  • Wasnt it cold blooded murder when they slammed the towers

  • wishthis would get air play. truth makes great song lyrics.

  • Let's vote the bastards out of office...Bush and Chaney are war criminals

  • Thank God for people like Kris!! He's always told it like it was.

  • I saw that he was touring over there. I just saw him aug 16 in ontario, canada. A great show, and so glad he played solo. I also saw him in the 70s with rita coolidge at massey hall in toronto. Small world lol!

  • "....tell the TRUTH and STAND YOUR GROUND....

    Your turn, Paul...HELP ADRIANA!

  • Hi, we saw him on tour in Bonn last week. that was over 30 years after his tour with Rita Coolidge in Germany in the 70s. He is older, but he is WONDERFUL! We always see his films, we have his CDs. It was so great to see him live. What a great talent and a gifted artist he is, so wise & so blessed. He is really the one we always would love to see in Germany. We are overwhelmed. Thank you so much, Kris! You made our day - and more!!!

  • I saw him the day before in Stuttgart. And I can say exactly the same!

  • Guys, i saw him last night in Hamburg/Germany, he was Awsome, i could not decide between crying and laughing, he is so right about his views of our world, i hope he is with us for a LONG LONG time to come. Kris is great, he made my day last night, and that of almost 4000 others, God Bless

  • Yeah, was a really great night!Saw him the first time, hopefully not the last time.

    Long live the Duck!

  • Kris - you're the conscience of America. Thank the Lord you still speak out about the way Bush has destroyed America's moral right to lead the world.

I saw you at the Albert Hall this year - 35 years after I first heard 'Lovin Her was Easier.' You're a legend and I hope you'll come this way again soon.

  • God Bless You Kris. It's only people like you that give me faith that eventually the USA will understand why other countries hate the US. We all know Americans are a good people who have been corrupted by their Leaders.

  • Kristofferson acted in a film that expands on his lyrics regarding killing good leaders, ie JFK. Sad thing that the US democratic ideals have eroded since WWII, from being liberator of Europe to oppressor of third world nations.

History is littered with once great civilizations who squandered their wealth and blood on domination of other cultures. I wonder how much peace you could buy for the trillion dollars lost in fighting Iraq ?

  • Thanks Kris.

I write also .You said it all.We need to get the BASTARDS out of Washington Now! Re-do our ways, as they were written in the beginning. We have traded in Tomorrow for Today. We would rather Kill than spend the Time and Money On saving and Health care. Wild Bill

     Thanks, Kris
